Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 9]

The game is at stake. If anyone wants to vote for me, please make a case of my compatibility or inherent scumminess first. I dont buy 'POE' when Juliets (and maybe tranq) are the only ones clear of being scum.

This is not a day to play all hedgey. Place your cards on the table and, if 3p sides with town (which if they killed sloon then they did), we have clear numerical advantage.

Wouldn't that be 3p? But you, Juliets, said he was hinting at being town, and even tranq shut that down.

My questions are met with 'Tranq is town because reasons' even though there's no town role or item set that clears him from what he's said and when I ask why people townread Tony I get nothing from anyone.

I'll answer your questions later Tranq. I'll be giving everyone a read before the end of this phase.

Re: Champions 2019 - Crisis on The Syndicate [Day 9]

Possible remaining roles: (for myself)

Civilians

The Monitor - You cannot be nightkilled by regular means. By the end of Day 1, you will choose two players to be Harbinger and Pariah. They will know who you are. If Harbinger is alive, and has not been found by the Anti-Monitor at the start of Day 6, she will choose one player to resurrect.

Vanilla role - You are vanilla until a player tries to use an ability on you. The ability will appear to be blocked, and you will absorb it for a single use. If multiple abilities are used on you during a night, you will absorb the last one used, and the rest will affect you normally.

King Dedede - If the final vote tally is tied when the Day phase ends, you will decide which player, within the tie, is lynched.

Bill Rawls - Each night, you will give a Civ role an order on how to use their power. If they comply, you will know the result, if any.

The Master's Team

Bari Artzain - You appear town to alignment checks. *secrets*

Serena van der Woodsen - Each night, you will give a Civ role an order on how to use their power. If they comply, you can control their power the following night.

Independent

Akechi - Each night, you can appear as the role of your choice to information roles. *secrets*

speedchuck wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2020 11:21 pm Jay, Sloonei, and probably Ted are still mafia. My reads are the same. Screw this game. Screw the unwillingness of anyone on this stupid forum to lynch Jay when he's pumping out worthless content because 'other players are posting less'.

And screw self-voting as well.
speedchuck wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2020 11:22 pm There was no case on G-man other than 'he's busy, he did a gimmick and later self-voted'

Meanwhile Jay's over here making love to his scum meta with Sloonei cheering him on.

There is one thing I don't like here. Toward the end when speedchuck was campaigning in his cranky way to destroy me, he always tacked Sloonei's name with me. Both of us were bad, but I had to die first. For reasons y'all will soon understand, that's a problem. The connection is meaningless, and it only serves to protect Sloonei in a roundabout way.

Generally I don't think it's speedchuck, but he should still answer to that.

juliets wrote: Thu Mar 19, 2020 9:27 am Jay, are you saying you think speedchuck knows who you are and that's why it's problematic that he thought you should go first?
It leaves the potential that speedchuck knows who Sloonei is, and that I am not on Sloonei's team. By gluing us together like that and insisting I die first, he protects Sloonei two-fold. Sloonei doesn't get lynched, and when I flip civilian it makes Sloonei look better too -- the connection is severed.
I agree with JJJ.
If you want to agree with JJJ, you probably should look at his readlist. And at the post you're quoting. He didn't think I was scum. You're cherry-picking.

The second post assumes that I think JJJ will flip civ, which I didn't.

Really now. Please do tell more, both of you.

If you'd like to parse Jay's analysis (his only chance of surviving was to get us to lynch the enemy team instead of him, so there may be some reliable info in there) then it might be helpful.

I don't know what the deal is with Akechi in the poll - it's interesting to think about. I still think Dizzy has to be either Akechi or mistakenly shot by his own team. If he is civ and did what he did then I just don't understand this game of mafia anymore (that may be true anyway).

Which of you is bad? There are two (presumably) of you damnit! You've played great but now would be a good time to stop hiding in the name of spirit and cooperation since we're all in this pandemic together. I am not drunk (but Epi probably will be soon).

This is a champions game. If he were paired with Sloonei he could do it, if he were the AM then he’s basically been playing as town.
In fact, to the AM end, Jay was pretty quiet the first few days by his standards. It only picked up around day 5.
Fair point.

This is multiball, after all. Jay is allowed to hunt for real this game, so he doesn't have to fake content.

Why not?
I guess if it was randed it could be but wouldn't the hosts have wanted there to be mafia on every level so there was balance? Do you think level one could have had all civs? Maybe I'm misunderstanding something about the way the levels worked.
If it was random or if the hosts decided, then sig's power is not necessarily a benefit to his team, as one or more of sig's teammates could have found themselves on that level and vulnerable to a lynch. The role is only beneficial to sig's team if sig got to choose who went where so that he could keep his team safe for one Day phase.
I definitely believe sig picked where he went and if I'm reading you right you think sig would have picked maybe level 2 for the AM. That makes sense. What about the Masters people though wouldn't they have been spread across levels unless the levels were randed for everyone but sig and the AM?
If I'm right and sig grouped everyone, the other team could be among any of the levels. It's a devious little role secret in that it has a potential secondary benefit for pushing (or allowing to stand) the fallacy that there "has to be" at least one bad guy per level.
for 5 y o ppl that means after he safely put the AM most probably in the midde level the rest of players are randomly distributed between levels?
I imagine he was mostly concerned with himself. I wouldn't make any other assumptions, not when the game rides on it.
