Huh. I was pretty sure I had seen a forger before, but I looked through the games. I guess I have not. Good combination of miller/godfather and lynchjanitor.

Busdrives are weird. Hosts discretion as to whether they have priority and possibly redirect each other.nutella wrote: Frustrating, that is. Marmot switched JJJ and Golden. Hence JJJ -> Golden -> Fredwood.)
I didn't want to get into that.

Re: Phenon Mafia: ENDGAME - Snuffed
Great game to all! Jeremy Bellic, now that's a name I would pull out of my butt. Ha! Anyway, super enjoyed the game.
Glad I was correct about Quin being town. I was hoping to kill a mafia and a scum with my first shot, and to see two scum pop up had me like, OH CRAP.
Thanks for commending my town play. It's the only way I know how to play the game at this point, even at the detriment to myself when there are no more baddies to kill.
But really, thanks. For my first game in a new community, I feel pretty good.
Good game, scum, and I'm glad I didn't hamstring you as much as I thought.
Good game, Sprit.
And good game, town. You guys deserved the win. I had a magnificent time blowing everyone up, and throwing out townreads on my own mislynch targets like an authentic faketown boss.
Sorry about the kill, Quin. I did it because I read you as town.

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 7 - Where There's Fire...
Not really back, still hanging out with friends. I have time for only a short post.
Last defense:
Role-wise, I have no excuse. Neither does Straw. At this point in the game, we're on fairly even ground. Neither of us have been tracked or watched, and we knew it. Our roles don't matter outside of plausibility. Straw unfortunately has me beat there, but I have no choice. I wouldn't have chosen a role this weird if it wasn't reality. You can WIFOM if you want.
Gameplaywise, I have been all-in on town effort this game. I eliminate possibilities as best I can, and try to help town with the best solution possible. I stuck my neck out for town. Strawhenge may have out-of-game excuses for laying low at some points, but I wouldn't say that I was working with ideal marker play. The early claims from town power roles are the only reason I lived this long against mafia, I'm sure.
Strawhenge (I am 85% sure) played a good game as marker. If it's Juliets, somehow, she played an even better game. I don't begrudge either the win.
Speedchuck, signing off. Good luck, and make the good decision.

Hm.Strawhenge wrote:Yeah, it means I get the rolecard telling me I'm a revenge killer, and then I choose who dies if I die. In this instance (and all other revenge killer roles I've seen in past games), I get to choose nightly.
I may have misunderstood. It sounded like you visited a person, then only killed them if you died. This gives some legitimacy on your claim, but you also weren't tracked to verify either way... And you probably would've known that you weren't tracked.
Still, @Juliets and MP: That revelation does weaken my argument against him. I'm currently trying to figure out whether to switch my role or not.
It sucks, because as it stands, I have the weakest alibi (though all of our alibi's are weak in one way or another). But I know if I get lynched, marker wins.
Read-wise, I'm still after Strawhenge over Juliets and MP, but his claim is less convenient for him than I thought. Good play, if you're marker, Straw.

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 7 - Where There's Fire...
Actually, if you check JJJ's metagame post, I'm pretty much always analytic, especially recently. I've actually been less analytic this game than normal. In addition, scum meta doesn't really apply to 3P meta. Which is unfortunate, because I feel like I've played a great town game, but that doesn't clear me.juliets wrote:speed, have you any logic to apply to your situation to show you are not the rogue? It seems to me you are probably Jeremy Bellic. You also said you tend to be more analytic when bad and you've been very analytic this game. Whatever you have to say, please say it. This is a hard decision.
Strawhenge wrote:That is what I wanted to know, yes, thankyew.
I don't mean this as an implication of suspicion; I'm just trying to cover the bases. But hey speedchuck and MP/KoFM, why do you find juliets's claim believable?
The inconvenience of her claim, which only made sense after Quin and Fredwood flipped. No 3P would make a claim so inconvenient and non-sensical, and then I doubt coincidence would intervene like this.speedchuck wrote: Juliets just went from my most questionable read to my most town read. I assume, since there is targeting, that a visit/target occurs during the night.Strawhenge wrote:Okay, I'm a revenge-killer. Choose someone every night and if I get NK'd, they die too.
My targets:
N1 Jay (you'd said some lowkey shady shit, sorry)
N2 (missed the night phase)
N3 Long Con
N4 Quin
N5 Fred
Most revengekill roles only notify the person, then ask him to select a target.
I am a seeker/conditional doublevoter. I have been given the 'names' of three roles, and if I manage to visit them at night, I will have a doublewvote the next day.Strawhenge wrote:Actually, same inquiries:

His target was Fredwood. Mafia watchers often target teammates so that they can know whether townies are bluffing against them and whether they should distance or bus. He didn't want us to know that he targeted Fredwood.
If MP is lying, and is actually the marker: Golden lied about being busdriven at all. This makes no sense, and there's no reason for MP to corroborate it. Furthermore, Golden saw MP/Eloh target Freddie. I assume that this is true, because if it wasn't, both Golden and MP are asking for a lynch. If MP/Eloh targeted Freddie, and Jack didn't, then Fred would have been marked. He didn't die in the first explosion.
Long-winded stuff, but even with Golden's pointless lie, MP was telling the truth. Unless we've gotten a ton more misinformation than we thought, it isn't really possible for MP to be lying. Fred would have died earlier, or Golden would have been lying about even seeing Eloh, which would get Golden insta-lynched. Occam's razor says that MP is truthful. MP lying is tinfoil.

Not that it matters. A doublevote at this juncture would not be a great idea.

Normal doctors protect at night. Unless your protection works during the day, I think your role wouldn't have helped much.juliets wrote:Oh gosh I forgot to say rip to JJJ and Dys. Sorry guys! We miss you both!
Oh shit you guys is this what happened????? I sent in Dizzy as a target to protect last night, just in case. Does that mean my target was switched with Strawhenge so Strawhenge killed Dizzy?? Or am I misunderstanding the bus driver power?
MP, I think you had the right idea with your targets. Just unlucky, I guess.
If you had redirected the mark from the townperson (either dizzy or Jay) to Straw or me (the two remaining suspects), the game would be solved either way. You chose Juliets as your townperson to switch with Straw, and it just happened that she wasn't the one that got marked.

Oh, and the other things. Juliets, you are not Bellic. Unless I was busdriven.
I will be here for the last hour or so anyway, regardless of the time changes. Only a 24 hour increase will really give me more time, though, as I will be gone for most of the extra 12 hours.
Like I said, whatever end time works for Juliets, Straw, and MP is good with me.

If MP is telling the truth, Golden lied about his target. If MP is lying, Golden lied about being driven. Let's look at these cases:juliets wrote: speedchuck, since you think it's strawhenge as opposed to MP, are you thinking Golden just lied about his targeting JJJ and getting Fred? And for all, should we push this lynch off until tomorrow morning at 11:00 am? speedchuck are you in a time zone where that wouldn't work?

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 7 - Where There's Fire...
Point by point:Strawhenge wrote: It struck me as strange when you POE'd me as the best lynch candidate, when Fred (rightfully) had much more to go on than me. When Fred flipped scum, I felt it was even more strange that you would focus more on me than on Fred, because it was confirmed that he was lying.
Obviously this is very likely not a scum move, but likely a rogue move. (7 scum and a rogue seems steep.) But, in order for you to win, you need a an easy lynch: me: a player who misses EODs and doesn't post much. Notable that your backup is MP, who is also not posting as much as you and juliets.
Also, outright saying you don't believe my claim after agreeing yesterday that my claim is believable is quite convenient. This is now lynch-or-lose, right? So my role can't possibly be confirmed until the game is over. Natural that you'd use my roleclaim as basis for my case.
Thoughts on the rogue in general: Jay finally dying is a sign that the final anti-town is a rogue who believes there's no scum left. You needed Jay to help find scum, scum needed Jay to help find you.
1. I never did POE you as the best lynch candidate. I did focus more on Fred than you, though I might have posted more about you, simply because I was unsure.
2. My backup is MP because he's the only other person I can possibly conceive of as being non-town. I don't think it's the case. As I explained in my previous post, Juliets is in the clear. You could look at that explanation and analyse it, or you can tunnel me because I think you're the rogue, while throwing down an early vote on the most important lynch in the game.
3. Your claim was believable, albeit convenient. Fred's flip made it less certain, as I explained in my previous post. And yeah, it's natural that I'd use your roleclaim in my case. It's something you did.

4. I do agree that Jay's death points to scum not being around, but I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.
MP, while we're at things, who did you target last night?

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 7 - Where There's Fire...
Now I'm between MP, a guy whose roleclaim requires Golden to lie for no reason, and a guy who, being marker, would... also have Golden be lying for no reason. And that's the evidence.
Strawhenge, a guy whose roleclaim screams "don't you try to kill me, scum" and allows for a visit when tracked, which most revengekill roles do not do. A revengekill role also fits less in the setup if Quin was town. Mafia just doesn't have enough survivability for us to have a vigilante, and for mafia to be handing out guns to us, and for there to be a revengekill, and for there to be a marker. It felt like the doc was there to offset the vig, but man, a revengekill too, and no doc? Hrm. Plus a town doctor for town survivability...
I know where my vote would go right now, between the two.
We need to be as certain as possible on this last day, but the offer of an extra 12 hours happens while I am asleep. I defer to my fellow players.

RIP guys. Good play.
Juliets just went from my most questionable read to my most town read. I had a townread on Quin all game, and for him to be forged by Fred to show up as a bad guy makes sense. Backup roles are a thing, and I doubt Juliets would fakeclaim something she apparently didn't know about, while being perfectly consistent, and also be claiming a role that required two flips that didn't make sense without each other.
http://forum.chocolatepi.net/showthread.php?tid=411 - Game with a backup role in it.
I don't know if everyone else follows, but I'm almost certain Juliets is town. Willing to stake the game on that, and if I need to explain that more, then I can.

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 6 - Culling of the Weak
I hope Fredwood is at least one of the mafia/marker roles out there. Otherwise:
Assuming one person is marked now, we have seven people. We lynch one, mafia kills one, marker gets a second mark. BOOM. We down to three. Lylo-ish situation there, unwinnable on the off chance that mafia or maker doesn't die in the four kills.
So today is kinda important.

You can just re-vote.
In 2.5 hours, I'll be pretty much gone as well. I can still check in occasionally, maybe, but for the last 4 hours of day it's going to be sporadic, and I'm not going to be able to read.

My double vote would show up in the vote count.Dyslexicon wrote:Does your double vote show up in the vote count?
How does it work?
You said you have one, right? So could we arrange a tie and you to use a double vote to prove your claim?
I don't have one.
I conditionally get one if I find one of my targets the previous night. So I might have one tomorrow, but not today.
My role is unverifiable, just like Fredwoods and Strawhenge's and Juliets. MP's is technically verifiable, though Golden's claim doesn't fit it, and I'm leaning toward it being true based on reads.
MP
Your role is, as a busdriver, a protective role. You aren't used to a town busdriver, and that's fine. But there are some things you can do.
Tonight, assuming we lynch Fred (which is probably a good assumption), busdrive one of your suspected non-towns with one of your top reads. You are a redirector. You could redirect a mafia kill on the mafia, a mark onto the marker, a mark onto the mafia, or the mafia kill onto the marker. Basically, you are able to save key town targets and make scum self-destruct. No matter what the lynch, you can buy us another day or a complete win, once you reveal things.
You are so freaking powerful as a town role right now. That's what town busdriver is good for.
And that's one strong reason to lynch Fredwood over MP today. Even if mafia doesn't risk the bus and MP bites the bucket tonight, that would be preferable to lynching what might be our busdriver.
We also may or may not have protective.

I am very certain I don't want to lynch MP today.

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 6 - Culling of the Weak
The game can't be solved. But we are speculating regarding how much the claims give us a townread.
Literally none of our claims can be verified at this point in the game. But what we claim matters, because of the way we do it and such.
Example: Strawhenge's claim proves nothing, but makes me not want to lynch him.
Fred's claim is unproven, but it made me want to lynch him.
There's a whole new world of reads that can be obtained from claims.
Also, I think JJJ did interactive analysis once or twice. What exactly were you asking for? I skimmed the thread last night.

Oh?
*checks*
Dang. Ignore my questions. Here we go.
Strawhenge
Town: Claim was made well, I feel. The claim was also not chosen to be believable or to help survival. Wine there. There is a place for a revenge killer in this setup, yes? Also anti-alignment with the mafia.
3P: Claimed to mark people and then kill them later if nightkilled. This claim is unprovable, and if Straw is killed, it won't matter at that point.
Mafia: Really stuck with that Dizzy realclaim biz a long time on D1. Claimed to mark people and then kill them later if nightkilled. This claim is unprovable, and if Straw is mafia, will never be tested. (unless marker can kill at night)
Possibly 3p or mafia. Not probable in either case. Learning that the kill was a nightkill made it coincide less with Marker and more with mafia. However, Straw doesn't seem mafia aligned.
I'm less okay with lynching Strawhenge at any point now.

Re: Phenon Mafia: Day 6 - Culling of the Weak
Strawhenge, the role that you have is both helpful and super dangerous. If you are scum, and lying, then lynching you is fine.
If you are town, and we happen to goof up and lynch you in the next two days, we can technically get two lynches for the price of one with your revengekill.
You've been thinking about your role longer than I have (I hope). Question (for you mostly, and for everyone else):
1. If you were to get lynched, would it be advantageous to reveal your revenge kill beforehand or not?
2. If you were to be selected as one of two people we were most inclined to lynch, and nothing out of the ordinary happened, would it be more advantageous to lynch you first, or the other suspect first?
These are thought questions. Assume that you are town and we do not know it because we are stupid, and are giving you these options.

Town: Town because scumhunting, litaral townfirm by confirmed role, and proven tracker role.
3P: Because sprityo hates anything resembling actual information or balance and made the 3p a tracker as well, and also made him show up as town because not mafia.
Mafia: Mafia because he's a Godfather/tracker combo which totally is not OP at all.
Town

Town: Because busdriving was claimed to have happened, and MP came in and quickly claimed his role without scouring the thread, even without knowing what's up with the role. We already got a scum busdriver dead. The lie was just a pointless lie from Golden.
3P: Because nobody ever tracked MP to see whether he visited two people. We already established that golden lied, now it's a falsifiable lie for no benefit or reason.
Mafia: Because his claim tried to corroborate Golden's (very quickly early on, perhaps with help), and there was a lie in there somewhere for some reason. It also makes little sense for Golden to watch freddie. Wine.
Town slightly more likely than mafia.
juliets
Town: Scumhunting has happened. No sirengifs on her. She is active.
3P: Playing a really good game, but doesn't have mechanical evidence to clear her at all. Claimed vaguely protective (being the third or fourth town protective, if MP is believed). Pushed off an exact claim until too late.
Mafia: Same as 3P.
Why does it feel like tinfoil to state valid scummy ideas about juliets? Town, but not as town as JJJ or dizzy.

Town: Because she was on town's side all game. Because the claim fits and is good, made at good times for good reasons. Because mafia was trying to lynch her all game. Because scumhunting.

Town

3P: Hasn't pinged scumdar all game. Hasn't pinged towndar all day. Hasn't really stuck his neck out for either faction. Claim is unverifiable, doesn't fit with his actions that well.
Mafia: Hard bussing/distancing early and the behind the scenes chat with Soneji was just actually mafia chat. Knew Son was scum because scummates. Claim is unverifiable, doesn't fit with his actions that well.

I come back to the game being less solved than when I left. Crazy.
Fred, your roleclaim:
You get a behind the scenes chat with one player during the night, and also get a question?
Do you ask the mod the question? Does it have to be about the person you chat with? When do you get the answer?
Please clarify more, because I'm having trouble with this. Your role sounds very disjointed, like it's a couple of different roles mashed together.
(Not that I can talk, as an seeker/conditional doublevoter.
I've played weirder, though.)

But, if it's fredwood's post, I'll address it.
Fredwood's best defense is literally doing nothing. I'm not happy with that for 3p. Scum, sure, but not 3p.Fredwood wrote: If not me:
Not marker:
MP07: I didn't die, Jack didn't remove a mark, so MP07 can't be the marker True enough.
The eh tier could go either way:
Juliets - had information, granted not any that was ultimately, but I don't see anyone making an information claim without being able to verify it, or having a very good cover. Could the marker be able to get information (shrug) highly doubtful, but maybe remotely possible. Again, true enough, but for the items that possibly could float about
Dys: Gave out a vest, that didn't stop a blast, and one that could have just as easily come from his teammate. Has had strong cred entire game ensuring lynches. Just like how a marker needs the Mafia NK to whittle numbers, they'd also need the lynch. The vest likely came from the D1 item. Go look at its name.
By POE that leaves:
Straw
Speed
I've already spoken to Straw's claim, nothing Speed has said to this point has cleared him, he's kind of in the same boat as I am. Except he has a little more lynch cred, which again I don't see as proof that he's not SK, because the SK needs the lynch to reliably fire. This is certainly fair enough. I've been arguing against myself being mafia. I'm not sure how I (nor how anyone else) can argue against being 3p, aside from role-claiming. Is that what we all should do?
Likely, my best defense in my eyes, is probably one of the reasons I'm viewed as a suspect, being a careful lyncher does not help me in anyway if I'm the neutral killer. Though if I may play devil's advocate to my own defense, there does not appear to be any hesitation to lynch here anyway, and I would have been on the Soneji lynch to my own admission, which would have been the only day there was a chance of a no lynch. Being a careful lynch (when town is guaranteed to lynch anyway) keeps you off of any bad trails that could get you suspected. Self-preservation has gotten you this far. Me? I took chances. I stuck my neck out for town in lynches, trying my best to scumhunt. That makes me a target. (Despite the fact that scum, in this game, kill people like Scotty for no reason.) Scum don't care if you live. You won't vote for them.
On that note, currently, I read people saying that there is no 6th mafia to be heavy tinfoil. It offers no explanation for the nightkill, and if scotty's role did the death deed, the role reveal would indicate that it was possible.
If someone comes up with a good reason behind the kill, I'll praise Cuthulu.
