Everyone else has found Quin. Unbeknownst to MP, this was a large, country-wide game of 'sardines'. The five other players have hidden with Quin, and MP hears them no longer. They wait for MP to find them so that this long game can end, snickering and eating gummi worms.

Only the formality remains. The game is, in every way that matters, over. And MP, the last to find Quin, has lost.

GTH readlist for you spacedaisy. I actually feel better about you and Sloonei than this readlist showed, but I'm more paranoid about you guys. I'm going to try to substantiate these reads before Day 4 end. Assuming scum does the smart thing and kills MP tonight instead of me.

I read through DDL's posts. I recommend doing the same. I'm gonna throw down a chart here.

The number with them tells what phase they were on. 0 is night 0. 1 is D1. 2 is N1. And so on. A little confusing, but necessary. CHART TIME!

A lot of these townreads, or heck, even scumreads, are weak and DDL backs off as he says them. I considered using lowercase to indicate weakness, but the chart is already hard enough to read.

NT was mentioned in relation to MP's vote for NT. DDL didn't like it. Granted, I wasn't a huge fan either.
Those with no mentions were technically a part of DDL's posts when he said stuff like "Everyone else is null" but I didn't include that.

I would appreciate everyone looking at DDL's sloon mentions, and sloon's treatement of DDL, and see if it looks more like DDL buddying and sloonei hunting or DDL defending and then distancing.

birdwithteeth, who is his second target, so I suppose we can look into that further. Or Dom, or NT, or nutella. Maybe Daisy as well.

Nutella was basically cleared by Epi, so she's too hard (I know she's not clear). NT is too weak a target to be taken seriously, and Dom would be the easy approach since he hasn't done much.
Basically, Nutella is too hot, Dom and Dom/NT are too cold, but Sloonei is juuuuust right. Hypothetically. I mean, you have had people suspect you over the course of the game. That plus WIFOM makes you an okay target.

Just playing devil's advocate, of course. It'd be a risky move by Serge.

If I were balancing this game, I would either have 4 scum or 3 and a third party.

But I'm not used to mostly-vanilla games. I would have also included a bunch more power roles, invalidating the heist. So what do I know, right?

I don't think it inconceivable that there might be a 3P or 4th scum, is my point. If there are 3 scum, one of them probably has a pretty darn good power role. I haven't been paying close attention to the daystart/dayend posts, so IDK if there are any hints about 3P.

Just some thoughts. Maybe it's interesting that you just assumed 3 scum. Probably normal.

See, this is what I meant when asking where you were coming from. :P Seemed like an IRL mafia-er to me. That's where I started, and yeah, online stuff is a lot different. You can't read someone's face, or see if they killed a buddy/someone they didn't like. But a lot of it comes down to this:

Motive.

That's what makes this such an analytical game. We look at DDL's posts and see that the way he acted toward sanmateo might come from a mafia motive. Being able to read that stuff comes with experience.
Me? I've got like 7 years of experience, and I still play like crap when I get vanilla town. No worries mate. It's a different ballgame, but whatever thoughts you have are welcome.

I don't necessarily agree with your post about Sloonei, but it's a valid observation. Scum could have motive to interrogate/interact with the new guy. It's easy, puts the player in good graces with the new guy and the other townfolk, and it looks like helpful townie behavior while not really incriminating anyone.

In this case I don't think sloon needs the boost from new person chat, because he's got a lot of other reads going on. So I personally think Sloon is probably town. But it's a valid observation.

Any observations that are articulated like what you have with sloonei there would be helpful. Don't feel like you have to volume your posts like some of us do. Sit back, grab a coke/beer, and let us know what you think!

Lol, yeah, I have read through just the start of N1 right after the lynch result, but other than that just skimmed some of the most recent page and now trying to piece everything together via ISOs. Hadn't seen Epi's commentary yet.

You and Epi are both good players. Both of you coming to the same conclusion independently means a lot. It's too silly and meta for a planned gambit IMO. I read it as genuine. Gives you both town points, and makes me feel bad about Sanmateo.

Doesn't mean Sanmateo is scum. But that observation is definitely not something scum pulled out of their butt. Not like this. So I'm on board. I feel good about this.

I'm just going to assume I'm wrong about Sanmateo. :P Rather him than Nutella, and the case on him has been peer-reviewed.

In the last post you quoted, I have other suspicions laid out. I'd probably go after one of them. I'm not very good with figuring out scum alignments, so I suspect those people mostly independently.

I'm honestly not trying to antagonize you. Of those that I'm looking at lynching, which would you suspect? I'm not super tunnelly, and I'd really like to not have nutella die because she's town, so I'm probably going to hop over and get something done elsewhere.

I guess a DDL lynch would be a possible scum lynch that gives me more info than the others.

I don't like how the thread keeps interrupting itself. Any time that we start down a trail of suspicion (with the exception of LC, and we see how that turned out) it gets interrupted by something else. That's why it was hard to generate reads.

BWT made a move that would get people talking, perhaps spur some suspicions. Scum like people to do that, as long as the suspicions are not aimed at them. BWT's lie contributed to the discussion without throwing difficult shade his way or pointing fingers at anyone in particular.
An overly long way of saying: BWT contributed. It wasn't a town or scum move IMO.

DDL's only posts of content are bandwagoning onto LC. The way in which he does it, though... I could see DDL as scum regardless of LC's alignment, I think. The reasoning he uses is similar to ours, but not quite the same, and he phrased it in a way that is easily defeated.

Not only that, but most of the time when I see DDL, he's a lot more aggressive than in this game. Maybe I'm misremembering. Feels like he's being careful.

linki: I always get the sense that Epi is being intentionally deceptive. I'm honestly not sure what Epi's trying to accomplish right now. If he presented the evidence clearly, then it would be best to let us draw our own conclusions. That would feel more honest. Instead, the two players are clarifying context and evidence over and over. All that does is make the game more heated and remove other avenues of discussion. Bleh.

Walk me through either motive that you can see.

Town motive: Give people something to talk about, get discussion going, etc. Doesn't mind having any suspicions thrown his way over it, after all, it is night zero, and this is purely a mechanical bit that will make him look good for being bold. A better lynch might come out of the discussion.
