I think common intuition about cop checking is usually wrong anyway. For many people it’s as simple as “check someone that you suspect to be a mafioso”, and frankly that’s dumb. It’s extremely short-sighted and basic.
The best cop I’ve seen on The Syndicate was Spacedaisy in Arrested Development, and she checked nothing but civilians.
IMO, the proper approach is this: check players who are most likely to be alive in an end game scenario, regardless of expected alignment. That’s how you solve.
Wish I could say it was intentional. It was pure dumb luck most of the way, lol.
