We used to have a no lynch option on Day 1 on RYM and it was kind of a waste of time tbh. Every game stalled out a little from my experience when they should have hit the ground running.

I added a no lynch at the end of Vanilla because I messed up the balance. I can see the argument in favor of either approach, but I am used to it being a sort of MYLO special. In my experience civs rarely punt anyway.

I wasn’t ever really able to do a lot of heavy lifting here. I’ve been sick to some extent for the entire thing and it was hard to get past my own (bad) initial impressions.

I thought Epi was just trying to evil genius his way out of being lynched, and I nearly fell for it. Well, I mean I should have, anyway.

I would like to take this opportunity to dispel the notion that I am, or ever have been, good at Mafia.

I don’t think that’s an accurate assessment of Hogwarts. DH was disguised very well by the knowledge that there were vigs and the civs were focused on lynching scum because they were the only opposite faction we had concrete evidence of until it was too late. I don’t remember debating the existence of a SK at all tbh

My vote could change but I reread about half the thread and was heavily leaning to DDL. Hopefully I’ll have it all done by tomorrow.

I have no way of knowing whether or not post-mafia Serial Killers were common on here ever, but I don’t believe I ever once saw that in RYM where Sloonei is from. Mac might know better.

Actually page 15, the end of Day 1. For almost all of it I felt like DDL’s effort looked the hardest to fake but Quin’s cbob vote — and his insistence on keeping it there — is crucial. Hard to see him so casually sacrifice a godfather when he can just pile on Mac or sabie or whoever.

Notably, neither Quin nor DDL really interacted with any scum at all. Quin and nova go at it a little in an exchange that can go either way.

I went through Cbob’s entire post history and couldn’t find a single example of him behaving as such. 2 points:

1. I skimmed at work, so I may have missed a game where he didn’t say much.

2. Some of these games were convoluted (Chicka Chicka, GoC 2017) and it’s hard for me to say as an outside observer what exactly was happening or even what his alignment was.

That said, there don’t seem to be a lot of games where cbob is mafia, so consider this exercise moot.

Partly wanted in on the "blah is mafia" meme, partly sus of the way he latched onto your mechanics post. It was getting suspicion from other(s?), but for very different reasons than "JJJ is hiding behind mechanics talk" which is the typical accusation around that sort of thing. DDL expressed suspicion of a thing that other people found suspicious but for reasons that don't ring true. That makes my hunting instincts want to eat his face off.

We need to know if cbob is willing to bus this hard, this early. I’m going to look through some of his games and see.

If we have an indie, I’m guessing they are a survivor-ish role, or incompatible with the civs to an extent.

Quin’s exercise is something I’ve seen a lot from civ 3J. It’s irritated me in the past because it gets me caught — which is not to say that Mac is bad, but that I think Quin’s good.

I can buy Mac’s position on Nova. Both he and leetic were pretty much doing the same under the radar thing, just for very different reasons.

We clearly need to reassess the pool, though.

I apologize for being snippy earlier in the night phase. I’m still as sick as I was a week ago and pretty over it, but Jay and DDL were right. The next time I roll vig, I will kill with reckless abandon.

I was 99% prepared to have fucked that up.

I sort of see where you’re coming from, Jay, but as scum myself I’ve purposely done NKs that I wanted to be inscrutable or from the PoE. It’s just messy and I’d rather not unilaterally remove folks from the game ... but I tried to tonight.

Maybe nova’s the vig.

I’m not sure what the ratio is personally. I thought there was just one other but a set-up like this with power roles always means it’ll be trickier.

Nobody else seems to think I should use my shot.
