I never trust flavor posts out of habit (speedchuck and I probably share this) this is a role that can make anyone else they kill reveal as something else. It’s not like I can ask long con “did the trickster for real for real die?”

Linki: very well, I’ll keep that in mind sloon
The answer to your question is that it seems like it would be theoretically possible. If the trickster is bad and killed th and forged it to say th was the trickster and was bad, sure. But... why would they do that? It's interesting that you bring up such a specific question when you have barely participated.
The simplest answer is that a mafia person died. If we make that assumption, we can move forward with analyzing TH and sussing out someone to lynch today. If we get all suspicious that TH only flipped bad, and wasn't really bad, then we don't have a clear path forward for today's lynch. I'd rather assume the simplest scenario that TH was bad, and use that information to move forward.
I like how I pointed at this as Luna's civviest post and now all her recent posts are speculating about secrets and decoys.
This game is full of craziness, and I find it sort of fun to discuss what's going on.

Re: Mafia: A World Asunder - GAME THREAD [Day 3]

The fact that juliets had the gentle Sheppard role and was also mafia makes me think that either roles and alignments were both randomized, or she was killed by the trickster, who is still alive and trying to mess with us. I realize for that to be true, the team with the trickster would have killed twice in a row. In a previous game I've played with two scum teams, if one scum team kills a member of the other team, they get to kill the next night as well. So it is possible.

There may be variations on how it works out there. The Trickster's forge allows him to make his kill-target appear as the role and alignment of his choosing.

@Tranq thank you for your reply. I tend to think you're not lying because you're identifying your position on the map with the Magic Mirror thingy and there could be someone that knows what square you are on and can check to see if there really is a mirror there and what kind of info it gives. In other words, if it was a lie it was a risky lie.

@Lunalee, in all fairness to you it has occurred to me that you haven't played one of these Long Rock games and my skepticism comes from years of playing them and knowing that information is often not what it seems.
Yes, this is my first map-based game and Long Con/Black Rock game.

Her first game was on this site, so the site history is all here.
Not helpful for my purposes, since apparently there are both types of games here
She also has a list of games she's played in her signature, which I have turned off for reading's sake.
I don't actually care about her performances, but I'm asking because there's a bunch of people jumping her for believing an infodump and where I started on the Realms the default rule is to trust info unless given a strong reason not to (almost to a fault really).
Speed sort of gave you my mafia background. I started playing online this year in February. But it looks like you're really asking why I believed sprityo's info dump. It was useful information, he didn't have to share it, it hasn't been proved false, and I saw no reason to not believe it.

Luna, Kyle, DDL, Quin, G-man.

One of them killed nutella.
What's your plan if we lynch one of these 5 and they're civ?

Let's say we lynch Luna today and she's good.
Day 3 we go "oh it's one out of these 4 now, those are even better odds", we lynch Kyle and he's good.
Day 4 we lynch DDL and he's good.
Day 5 we lynch Quin and he's good.
Day 6 we lynch G-Man and he's either bad (you got good info) or not (your info was incorrect, or you lied and made us waste 5 lynches)

We could waste up to 4 lynches if the info is right, 5 if it's wrong.
So... I just checked and tranq dropped this and then never posted again?

So I think quite heavily that tranq is bad and one of his teammates is on the verge of getting lynched today, and their team is frustrated at getting hit by map info.

So considering the state of the poll, I'll move my vote to wilgy since he's in the lead he'd be the one tranq is mad about.
I'm pretty sure Tranq posted this before Wilgy had any votes on him.

Just looking at roles that have kills and our options are:
Dark Worshiper - doesn't look civ aligned, can kill 3 times
Sakana Sashimi - one time kill, so no longer a threat after the first kill
Savage Pixie - also a one time kill, but since they are undetectable, I don't think anyone would have seen them if they did kill nutella
Trickster - This was TH, but maybe he took nutella out before he died?
Then there are the secret roles, and the secrets associated with other roles. These may or may not include kill abilities.

Voting Colin. Again. I just can't see him as town, and it buggs me. Also I really don't like the G-man train. It looks scummy because G-man hasn't said anything to look bad in my opinion, but he just hasn't been around much, which makes him an easy lynch target.

This is your best post so far

This post is weird and I may be misunderstanding it. But is colonialbob saying people scared to be held responsible will vote off wagon? Then Sloonei quotes it, not only saying he's voting off wagon, but that he's not even voting for who he wants to vote for. If you're going to vote off wagon anyways, why not go for juliets?
cbob was suggesting that we should vote for a player who was voting for wilgy at the time because a number of people were complaining that his wagon was shady and weak. Tranq was on the wagon and was a person who'd garnered a fair amount of suspicion.

Why'd you kill nutella?
I would like to look at Wolbre's wagon. That's a good place to start.

Nutella died? I haven't seen the end of night post.
Why does your response have nothing to do with Sloonei's post
I didn't read it close enough it seems. I understand what happened now. So Tranq was a valid option based on that plan. But since Wolbre flipped town, I think his wagon looks worse than Wilgy's, whose alignment is not known.

Lunalee wrote: Mon Dec 10, 2018 12:56 am Voting Dr. Wilgy. Incase he's bad. Cause I don't thin Wolbre is.
I can't tell if this vote is more a defense of wolbre or an act against wilgy. It's both for sure, but I'm unclear on what luna's primary motive was, if that sort of thing matters at all.

:ponder:
Conclusion on EOD Luna: She showed up late in the day with a vote parked on Colin. She needed to make a decision on Wilgy or wolbre and got involved. I like that on the surface. She made a decision and stuck to it. There was not a lot of time to think things through, so everything came out a bit jumbled, but I'd be interested in hearing what exactly was going through Luna's mind when she was deciding who to vote for, just to help contextualize these posts a bit better. I lean town on her behavior here, but that's not a strong read at the moment.
LOL, almost exactly what you saw me post in this thread was what was going on in my mind. I popped in about 15 till end of day, and I couldn't just not get involved, but I was scared that if I did get involved last minute and picked the wrong player to vote, it would make me look bad later. I skimmed both wolbre's and wilgy's most latest posts, and made my decision from that to vote wilgy. I ignored the other trains because I didn't have time to investigate more. And that's about it.

Agreed RE: wolbre wagon. Let us know what you think when you get a chance.

I wanted to doublecheck my town read on Luna from earlier and it hasn't gone away. It's still not super strong, but there's nothing here that really stands out to me as bad, and a few points that look genuine and proactive. I'd be open to alternative theories though.

How do you feel about the wilgy wagon? Why do you think nutella died?
I dont know, but I'd like to think the Wilgy wagon was good if Wilgy is scum. And that is a huge if.

The only thing that sticks out to me about nutella is her accusing speedchuck out of nowhere. But if speed were bad, I don't think he would kill her this early in the game. Perhaps one of the scum teams killed her because she was barking up the wrong tree, and they wanted to move suspicions off themselves.
