I've never relied on meta reads of CDCers in a non-CDC environment (other than KZA, who has a volume/comfort tell). I got Falcon wrong twice lately. I got 112 wrong in our last game together. I'm not actually great at meta reading people I've played with for years and years because I feel I've seen it all from them.Alison wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:51 pmThis is pretty hedgy for a site meta that boasts polarized meta reads on each other, and smacks of someone who is gearing up to push on Bo while retaining the ability to claim you townread him or at least didn't bury him after he flips town.Master Radishes wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 1:49 pm Skimmed through Bo’s iso.
A lot of it is simply NAI with him. He doesn’t really roll up his sleeves and analyse much as town; I think he prefers to chat live with people and get a sense of them. And I give him a pass on that sort of thing anyway since he subbed in, possibly knowing he would just be a warm body and without any intention of playing hard, and has way too much to catch up on anyway.
The one thing that pings me about his iso is that it’s full of questions. Specifically, he asked me, Rondo, and Falcon all about what we thought, but seemingly did nothing with whatever our responses were (not bothering to check tbh). Tied to that, the only people he really talks to/about/around are me and Falcon, his CDC mates. (Not 112 though, whatever that may mean w.r.t. his associations with her, if anything.) And Rondo, actually. He is popping in, lobbing softball questions or comments at the people he’s comfortable talking to, plus one person extra, and then doing nothing else.
I think regardless of his alignment, Bo’s heart is not in this game. So there’s a high chance of simply misinterpreting his words and actions. But if anything stands out to me it’s his shying away from interacting with anyone outside a small circle including two of his familiar peers. That does suggest to me an attempt to stay out of the spotlight of others’ gazes beyond those he knows or maybe feels unthreatened by (sorry Rondo).
Do you think my logic make sense about Bo's intentions or not? Your response here is confbiasy.

Time's up for now.
I'm intending to circle back to Ender's case on me, because I feel it's...not a great one. I know there's now mech stuff on Ender, but I'm not sold on him outside of that and I'm not sure how much we can let mech dictate alignment reads anymore.
I'll also work on a broader list of my views on other players, seeing as I am likely chop tonight.
Probably won't be here for EoD btw, unless my wife works late or something.

Re: The Witcher Mafia [Day 3]
Btw @Made regarding my wagonomics-based read on Syn,
I'm walking it back now tbh. Maybe. I felt my interpretation was a valid one, but truthfully there's no reason I can't be wrong. To reiterate I felt the Syn wagon was too stale, the momentum throughout D1 too steadfast, and it felt more like a town mischop that scum had navigated their way on to; and meanwhile the chaotic vote swing at the end was largely town-led with maybe one scum? joining in with the crowd. It was only active EoDers that changed votes; the Syn voters had all dropped their votes and left before EoD and it felt too comfortable for me.
But we've whiffed entirely up till now and I came into this phase thinking I probably had something wrong in my worldview. The simplest thing would be that BoSyn was scum after all and the scum I sense must be on that wagon were just bussers who figured he was doomed.
Bo himself....actually, maybe I'll iso before updating my view on him. I gave a townlean I know, but that was early on and based on tone, which is pretty weak to hold on to for too long as a reason.

On a different note, I know he's already been put aside for mech reasons and all that, but Made's reading of my iso for two different things (the 112 stuff + the post quoted below about my read on the Syn slot) feels way too fair for him to be scum. He has clearly actually parsed my words to figure out my thought process behind my takes. Scum, I find, tend to take a simple or general approach when isoing to build on a push on a mischop.*
So yeah, Made is feeling a lot townier now.

Re: The Witcher Mafia [Day 3]
Of course.
The thing about 112 is that when she's on her game she is a unique player archetype I struggle to definitively read, despite having played with her for so many years. I could definitely read her pre-2019 or so, but since her Champs experience I've often struggled - unless she's phoning it in, of course, which happened occasionally in CDC games.
My default setting is to scumread her. Partially this is me just being very reluctant to let myself be fooled by her, partially it's the erratic behaviour she can exhibit as town/mimic as scum. I need to look for reasons to call her town, not the other way around. So far this game we've not interacted in the thread at the same time much; both of us have had long spurts of not being present. So it's been difficult to get any sort of accurate read and I've largely avoided doing so and focused instead on what's in front of me when I'm here.
I will go out on a limb and again GTH call her town. On a big picture level, her limpness in the game would point to her being scum who just doesn't have the time/inclination to put in work. As town she should find it easier to throw out some snap reads without a care in the world. But that's too easily explained away by 'irl stuff' (which I might be overly sympathetic to right now tbh) and when reading her individual posts I can't see anything in particular I want to point out and call scummy. I don't sense what I think is her usual scum agenda of making herself come across as erratic and pure. If she's on a team with others I don't see what she's doing to help them.
It's still very possible she's scum and just sort of coasting by because she's never faced any particularly hot heat, but I think she is probably town who doesn't have the time or energy to put in.

Oh right and the scum slip.
In a sense you're right. As soon as I made the post I was like 'they're definitely gonna say I have TMI by calling Koba a vill' and tried to head that off by saying the bit I hadn't said out loud next.
But yeah, that's not TMI, that's me just treating every unflipped player as a villager by default.

Re: The Witcher Mafia [Day 3]
Okay I gave up reading Ender's wall.
As far as I can tell @EnderWiggin you don't like I'm hedgey. Well...too bad? Like I'm not a Mac or Tutuu who confidently and abrasively overstates reads. I hesitate on everything because I always find counterarguments to myself.
You pulled up one game of meta to compare and not only did it contain equally hedgey posts which you seem to ignore or underweigh, but that's a small sample size. I can link you games of other town games of mine if you want and you can see the same thing.
You also point out I don't show progression on reads, like Scotty I think it was. Again, yeah, no, I don't. Not D1 anyway. Like sometimes I will of course, if I find a strong town or scumread. But I don't play D1s very seriously and mostly just let things unfold in their own right and let my impressions swirl together in my head. I don't state everything in thread.
A lot of this is predicated on my activity/presence level imo, even if you don't outright state it is. I struggled to get into this game because it was so active and I just...don't have time in my life to dedicate to such a high intensity game. I work, I have a wife who needs attention and feeding, I have things to do. I play in snippets, like 30 mins in the morning, 30 mins after work before I make dinner, an hour after my wife falls asleep, etc. (The one exception was Tuesday, and you'll notice my activity spike in my iso then I bet.) I can't keep up right now in a game like this, not properly anyway. I can't read everything and everyone and make solid reads and give insightful takes. I do best when I'm in sync with the threadstate and outside of one moment D2 where I felt like I was finally vibing with a few people, I'm still finding this roster too large to get a firm grasp of everything going on.
D3, now, for instance - this is the first moment in 24 hours since the round began I've been able to devote time to it. I've missed 800 posts and now am playing catch up. And as soon as I am done this post I'm going to get ready for bed, do some other stuff I need to do (flavour on MU; for integrity reasons won't say more), and watch a show with my wife. And I'll wake up tomorrow and again be behind and then go to work etc.
This turned into a bit of a rant and I should probably edit that down but don't have time to. Basically I think your concerns about me are steeped more or less in 'he's not here/doing enough/showing his every thought' and yeah, no, I'm not. That does not make me scum.
This better not be another GoC situation like when Syn was certain he had a red check on me but refused to say why and then it turns out he didn't

I'm at work now, but if at some point in the next ten hours someone could tag me with a summary of wagons and/or mech info I'll love you forever.

At a glance I've gathered we're at the stage of the game where we start to go mad with mech. Yay. My favourite.

Re: The Witcher Mafia [Day 2]
I am okay with either wagon going over.
Probably won't be back for EoD.
Unless I pop in with 5 mins to go to vote the flash wagon that springs up.

Re: The Witcher Mafia [Day 2]
Yeah. I've read the awkwardness as NAI, and with that put aside there are little things (comfort when in thread, lack of awareness at times, how she has approached me) that make me lean town. It's maybe a weaker read now than it used to be but it's still there.Poison wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 1:12 pmI think she has been doing this all game, just going against the normal reads. Kinda constantly. But I am not concerned about her right now, might have had something from her that seemed towny before. But other than that she had been constantly awkward. Will look into her later maybe.Master Radishes wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 12:31 pmRead up before you go making such bold declarations.

Re: The Witcher Mafia [Day 2]
Probably town for raisins, though we'll see if that holds water as the game progresses.Poison wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 1:09 pmHey I have you the read list!Master Radishes wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 1:06 pm Poison we never finished our chat from earlier.

But I think I would like to talk about epi. As far as I remember he was only concerned with koba at the beginning of this phase and slanked throughout the game. I don't have much epi meta, what do you think about him?
But also I don't sense any...discomfort from him when he pops in and out of the thread. His presence is minimal (that's standard for him these days as far as I remember; he has family and work limiting his time I think) but he doesn't seem to be forcing anything. He's poked and prodded a bit in typical Epi style. I don't think he's found a bite he's willing to hang on to yet but it feels like he's searching for one. So by general comfort level vis a vis his presence level I think he's probably town.
Caveat 1: we're never in the thread a the same time and I'm only really skimming his posts upon catch up.
Caveat 2: I think I've incorrectly read Epi's alignment every time I've played with him. Last time was...Bike Mafia I think? I made a big deal about feeling good about finally reading him correctly as town and he flipped scum iirc.
So basically don't ask me, and maybe Nanook is right after all. But yeah, I'd say town here.
