Sunbae, if you can come up with a plan that results in wolf Vulgard randomly hardclaiming Jailkeeper to Marl in the neighborhood, overnight, before he saw the night results, when the real-in-this-world Jailkeeper claiming at any point while Vulgard was still alive would force him into a thunderdome, I'm all ears, but that scenario seems nonexistent to me so help me see it

(it's possible that I'm wrong about the exact details of night actions/who was carrying the kill/etc. but I'm not really sure why you would falsely claim a redcheck on him for any reason other than being a wolf)

he would have TMI that Marl is faking (since he would know that c4 didn't carry the kill)

and TMI that the real jailkeeper is going to out him

and he would probably put together with Marl + Vul's conversation at SoD that Vul was the actual jailkeeper

and this is all very convoluted but I think it's more likely than the world where I was wrong about Vul

I think the way outed wolf's approached me is pretty consistent with how he tends to approach me as a villager, speaking as someone who has been pushed by town!him a LOT (as both alignments, as we've now established!) I don't have a super confident read on him outside of that, but I'm kinda willing to ride the selfish read for the time being. I'm ASSUMING bronana/Sunbae would notice weirdness from him before I would, anyways (no pressure c:)

I had some thoughts about Zack near EoD yesterday along the lines of "I really haven't put a lot of effort into reading Zack yet" but they didn't go anywhere, and in light of KZA's flip I don't think I'm suuuuuuper concerned about him?

I've had misgivings about how much of a pass I've given Sunbae, too, simply because he feels like he's been more on the sidelines than he typically is. Entirely possible that I simply haven't made enough of an effort to engage him yet, and I feel fairly confident that I'll be able to lock him in as a more confident townread sooner or later if he really is town.

nutella, spf, and Vulgard are simply villagers, nothing more; my c4 read is largely sheeping spf, but having now read his wall (lol) I think there are a lot of astute points in there that display a villagery mindset, so I'm not too worried about doing further diligence.

dya... I will talk more about dya should it remain pertinent later on today. I'm not hard town on them, but the kind of read I have on dya is the kind I'm usually correct on. I do agree with a lot of the points against them re: tone and thread presence. Haven't looked at the Alison push in too much detail.

Chloe's opener felt very "I just joined in a villager slot and am hyped to start putting thoughts into the thread". No concerns here.

Marl I am voting for "he is whelming" reasons + sheeping Chloe reasons.

Arete is a player in this game and I still have no real idea what to do with them.

cause it feels like you and the other FoL folks have got a nice little reads circle going, and that's fine and good, but i think at this point most people feel pretty decent about you guys and are ready to talk about other people

like, say, the two enormous wagons that you barely have any sort of read on, or any of the other frequently mentioned wagons (dya, zack), or any of the people that people are having trouble nailing down (dizzy, for instance)

it feels like you're primarily talking to and about FoL people and it makes it really hard to know where you stand on the rest of the game

so like

a big part of the reason for that is that I feel like a big part of your reads on each other is based on meta for games I barely looked at, or meta where you've been playing each other for years and know each other's playstyles, and I don't have that, I haven't played more than a handful of games with any of you, I can't engage with 'your approach to the game is subtly different from Congress of Vienna' when the only thing I know about Congress of Vienna is 'Chloe was 3p' and the FoLer copypasta, and the fact that that's such a heavy emphasis this game makes it harder to read the people talking about it (e.g. I can't get a good sense of whether 'x is playing like CoV'/'x is playing in their town meta'/etc. is in good faith or bad faith when I don't know their meta in the first place)

and when I do have reads half the time someone is like 'no but your read is wrong because of their meta'

and even when that's not a factor I'm like 'wow, these sure are reasonable posts, if I didn't know that 90 percent of this playerlist is a strong player as both alignments I would probably find this villagery but it's not out of the range of what a competent wolf could fake'

which, like, it's fine that that's a factor in this game, I'm not going to be like 'meta is bad and evil and you shouldn't ever use it,' but it's making it harder for me, personally, to make reads on non-FoL people and that's not something I can just fix by trying harder
