Re: Fallout 2: A Post-Nuclear Mafia Game [Day 0]

Pros: none
Cons: hetero
Gameplan: setup spec and coast
Misc: i've never played with esooa

Btw nobody should be claiming team or colour. Whoever claimed to be a Limey effectively just claimed town PR.

Re: Fallout 2: A Post-Nuclear Mafia Game [Pre-game]

Hey all! I just wanted to start by thanking our wonderful host for this wonderful game. There's no way he knows this, but I've been a big fan of this theme since I was just a young man trying to make my way in the world, so it means so so so much to me to see a fellow fan put so much effort into making this game a reality. Honestly, I was almost in tears signing up for this game, I didn't even read anything other than the game's title, that's how indescribably ecstatic I was to see this theme game run. And it's just because, when I was in my young teens, this really had a massive formative effect on my development, and it's a large part of who I am today. The themes it explored were unlike anything I had previously encountered in my admittedly short existence, and every time I replayed it I would discover some new surprise waiting for me. I remember when it first came out, it was before the whole online downloading thing, so I got to the store an hour early to ensure I got my copy. And when I first held that disc in my hands, oh my, I practically floated home, I was jubilant. I immediately ran to my room, and with shaking hands I barely managed to insert the disc and turn it on. That was the first time I pulled an all-nighter. Every day for weeks, I would rush home after school and just play it for hours and hours. If it weren't for my mother with her heart of gold, that first week I would surely have forgotten to eat most nights, I was just lost in another world. My greatest possession from those days is still tucked away in a box somewhere: a one-of-a-kind poster signed by the artists. I won't get too much into how I managed to secure that treasure, but I will say that there might have been a little bit of stalking involved. I'm not even ashamed to admit it, I was just wholly obsessed. As a child of divorce, I would go spend every other week with my father, and I made sure to pack up my whole system with all the cords and peripherals to ensure I was able to play it over at his place as well. I introduced him to it, and I could tell he didn't really understand why I liked it so much, but he was so sweet to go along with it anyway and pretend he did. I don't think I fully understood what he felt until I became a father myself. And I know that the world is moving on from this genre, kids these days are into more fast-paced stuff, so I'll likely have the same experience he had when my own children are older. Anyway, I guess this is just a roundabout way for me to say thank you to Jay for making a game based on Fall Out Boy's iconic second album, it really means the world to me, and I look forward to playing it with all of you!
