What more can I say? I've said before that I can see a set up where out cylons start neutral and are recruited to Cavil cause. It would mimic the infighting the cylons had lore based and still ballance the game.

In a perfect world we find Cavil before he has a chance to damage any cylons but that cause is prolly already lost.

In the meantime I'm hoping that when we do lynch a cylon we are told if he/she is Cavil or not. But given how la flipped, I don't think we will be told. :(

Second time I'm reading someone mention "Cavil's team" as if it's a given. Was something about this revealed? Did I miss a memo? :confused:
He was the big bad of the show. He wanted to kill the human race. He wanted to destroy all cylons who sided with the humans.

I've spoke earlier how I could see his role being enacted in this game. It's not confirmed by a long streach but if there is any sort of "mafia" in this game it has to be against Caivil and anyone alighned with him.

Humans don't get immunity, only cylons. And now because of this bullshit marital law, we need the final five out too in order to win. Hence, everybody needs to get rid of their amnesty
pssst - given what I know of the show, I don't think anyone can win without being willing to work with a human or cylon or whatever is the "cross the bridge" for your role card. It is kinda the theme of the whole show. ;)

Just a thought.

Bea, while you're at it, claim cylon to burn your amnesty.
Nope. Won't do it.

Lynch me as a human.

I might yet, if I live long enough be a Final 5 and that Annesty might help me live to help the humans I fight for.

So yea. No. Not gonna burn that bridge Day 4 before I even know if I have to walk down it or not.

I do - though - as this debate goes on - grow more interested in the peeps who push for the absolutes. You absolutely must burn through your amnesty - right now - to prove you are human. Feels a LOT like "if you have nothing to hide, you have no reason to worry about the government watching what you read, do or watch ala 1984.

"... and thats when I heard him say, that Marmot, he is actually slightly better than entirely worthless" said zebra, as she and Matt dissolved into fits of laughter.

They were on their way back to their quarters. They knew that the Admiral had scheduled an FTL jump to a nearby planet rich in Tylium. It was necessary to restock the fleet's supply of fuel - without it, they could not hope to outrun the cylons forever.

The Galactica jumped...

"Sir, DRADIS contact" said Vompatti "I just thought I should say something relevant".

"Attention, unkown vessel. This is the Battlestar Galactica" said sig "Identify yourself, or we will fire upon you."

A voice came back. "To the vessel that claims to be the Battlestar Galactica - this is the Battlestar Pegasus. Identify yourself with recognition codes immediately."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Helena Cain was brought on board Galactica on a raptor. Everyone stood to attention as Cain surveyed them.
"Admiral" said Cain "you've done a fine job here. Your pilots are well trained. It's clear that the human race would not have survived in such numbers without you. I shall ensure you are appropriately honoured for your service as Admiral. However..." she tailed off.
The Admiral looked down at his insignia, and unclipped it from his jacket. "I believe this belongs to you." he said calmly.
No-one has died.
The secret role has been revealed to be Helena Cain. Helena Cain outranked everyone on the Galactica at the time of the destruction of the colonies, so is now the Admiral. She has declared martial law. In addition to any existing win conditions, Admiral Cain is imposing another. No human may win the game while any cylon is alive.
It is now day. You have 48 hours to lynch a frakking cylon.
Are you kidding me right now? In the lore, Nero's role as Saul was one of the final 5 and still totally deticated to his human fleet. vote nero
Back to hour 12 of work with no end in sight. :sigh:
I think bea's Nero vote is one of the more suspicious in his wagon. She made only one prior comment in the game relevant to him (which was to ask him a question without giving a read on him). She was clearly short on time which is understandable since my LoRab vote was similarly hastened, but it shouldn't be hard to figure out why I made that vote in a hurry given my LoRab-relevant content prior.
bea acknowledged LoRab's amnesty claim and went for the growing counterwagon instead despite seemingly having had nothing to say about Nero before. In such a hurry as bea was, I'd have expected a vote more relevant to her own stated suspicions than this "go with the flow" vote.
In my hurry to read, I was lead to believe that going with a lorab vote ment that I was hurting the civs because we weren't "finding a baddie" in the second wagon. I know in hindsight this was bad. I'm so so sorry for this.
but from where I was at that moment in time, it was the best decision I could make. Especially as so many people were at that point saying a vote for lorab is null.
I can understand why you would think this. All I have is at the time, my "own stated suspicions" were being said in the thread
How does it hurt baddies? Give me your perspective. How is it unlikely for Cylons to literally blend in with a large crowd of fake claimers? Why am I suspicious for bringing this up?
Also, is your fake claim enabled and used up, if you say it during the Night?
Let me lay it out better:
We all claim day 4 that we are cylons. We lynch LoRab. Day 5 comes around and we scumhunt and lynch Long Con for example. Now, he dies. See what I mean? It prevents the situation that occurred between LoRab and Nero and reduces last minute vote scrambling and mislynches.
If you are still opposed to it after I say this, then you are an auto FoS.
I made my statement a few hours before the lynch ended. It didn't have to be last minute. I had hoped that it would result in actually lynching a baddie, which I knew would definitely not be the result if I had been lynched. As it was, y'all lynched a civ anyway.
Matt wrote:Rico, for serious?
I also hope that you see that if I can see the potential good in you - you can see the good in me.
We all need to be on the same page. Rico won't like this, but I'm up for lynching anyone who doesn't want to go along tbh.
because you are sure you are somehow not final 5? cuz I'm a human and I lknow that if I live long enough - final 5 could be an issue.
how do you with all your lore knowledge not see this???
4 of the 5 final 5 were aligned to help the humans.
do you really want 4 of the 5 final 5 to waste their amnesty on day 4? before they even know it exists?
There are several players who can't have amnesty tomorrow, as Matt has highlighted. Lorab is one of them and likely to be lynched.
The point of the plan was to eliminate any of the amnesty existing, not to create a WIFOM world where the Cylons can wreak havoc. We've already agreed that Humans have nothing to lose by abiding. I've pointed out multiple reasons they have something to gain from it. As a result, I can't think of a reason that a human would refuse to follow it. As such, I think it's logical to be suspicious of someone who opposes.
here you officially suspect me. Because I will not claim to be cylon when I am not. And I WILL hold on to that law in case I'm one of the Final 5. I'm a complete human who sympathizes with cylons and understands that things aren't as black and white as you are trying to make them.
I don't find it in the interest of any civilian to fakeclaim during future Day phases just to save their asses, so this scenario is actually better for leaving such pressure only to actual Cylons.
Metalmarsh89 wrote: Everyone but the Cylons follow the plan: Then we found our Cylons. I don't expect this result, but it is possible.
Who is "everyone"? If you are supposedly an uninformed civilian, you should have no concept of who "everyone but Cylons" might be. There is no way to distinguish Cylons from humans (or baddies from civilians) simply by assuming that "everyone but Cylons will follow through". I don't find this scenario feasible. Case in point, I am human civilian and don't plan to fake Cylonclaim. What you're proposing sounds almost like a "hey, everyone who is civ say so, the others must be therefore bad". Uh, fat chance.
Metalmarsh89 wrote: Everyone follows the plan: We don't learn who the Cylons are, but they are at least easier to lynch.
If everyone follows the plan, we go back to the usual lynch status quo, in which nobody is safe from lynching based on this law. That's about it.
Metalmarsh89 wrote: What do we have to lose by using this plan Ricochet? How would it hurt the humans for every player to Cylon-claim?
It would not hurt the humans, but it would not help them bait or distinguish Cylons no more. Besides, we should be respecting da law and I find it that this law was meant to ensnare Cylons, not for us to use it en gros to allow for nothing to be potentially achieved.
Humans don't have amnesty.
Cylons do.
Not following this plan will allow all Cylons to save their amnesty until the moment before they are lynched. Why do you think this is better than no player having amnesty?
That is the benefit. If LoRab had not had that amnesty, Nero would be alive now, which definitely would have benefited him.
I see this point and yet I still have to deny - because I'm a human and it requires me to lie.
And I don't know yet if I'm one of the final 5 (though at my usual play skill it means I'll be lynched far before this kicks in). Can you see that as well?
Can you see where the Final 5 might need that Amnesty?
Cuz I can. Even though I don't have it and I won't claim it because I don't have it.
Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day Four
so say we all. - linki saved me on this one. Not gonna lie about that.
At this moment I'm 3 pages behind the current thread. Even when I was home from work - work kept me busy - there were things I had to get done tonight.
That said - I KNOW there are things I have to catch up on. And I'm half caught upish.
First of all - RIP Nero. I'm so sorry I was part of the lynch of Saul. :(
Second of all - I know lorab had a suspish I've not addressed enough so that she voted for me. Imma do that soon. I promise. Work has been cray cray again as per normal and it has been this thing hanging over me that I know about but haven't till now had time to address.
I was curious about drumbbeats reading me in in the last lynch as his second because I'd not remembered him suspecting me before, but I will read back him as well and see if I missed something. It's entirely possible.
Weekends are VERY work focused. Keeping up on the thread during smoke breaks from fri-sunday is a herculean task in my world.
I also know Daisy reached out to me for my sus of her during the whole blow up thing - and I never addressed that. Daisy - I appreciate that you spoke to me even when you wanted to walk away. I know it was the "only cuz it's you" scenario. My angst at you was directed because you were posting about how no one understood or helped you out when I was trying to do that. I can, in hindsight, understand how that was lost in the heat of it, but that's where my initial sus was.
As it stands right now - and behind as all get out - I have wiped your slate clean and look at what you do from here on out. :hug:
I'm sooo happy the pilots came back.
I'm guessing that our Admiral Goldama has a specific amount of rez ships in his grid. And after we find them we *might* find the hub ship ala battleship style.
That said - IDK if it's right or not - but wouldn't it be cool if the Cylon's were engaged in a similar not in the thread version of searching for Galactica that we are doing with the rez ships? Since they are chasing us after all....
I'm positive that if we ask our lovely host he won't confirm or deny it - it's just a mechanic I can see being implemented in this theme.
And now I wonder about peeps who've asked where they think "we" are located....
It might make me looked down on but I feel like they could be either. I believe that if they've learned to think like true artificial intelligence then they can also learn to think for themselves. If they can show compassion and love. Think for themselves and make decisions then perhaps they are not all bad. At what point do we set aside our anger and hate for these things and see them for what they are. Alive. But who makes that decision? Are Cylons or at least the models that look, think, and act like humans are they alive? Do they meet the scientific criteria for something that is honestly alive?
