Re: [Day 7]: Film Noir - Game Over
hedgie was the only person through my quick ass read of the thread that I had pegged as a civ and she was deaded by the time I got up to the game.

Re: [Day 7]: Film Noir - Game Over
I was reading it all after the fact and was all OMG! LIZZY!!!! YOU BAD BAD BAD GIRL!!! Was still shocked to read it was Nev that was your teammate though.Lizzy wrote:^I got some booze and used it on you. Hope that helps. :\
Huzzah team! I'm a bit bummed that Bea didn't show up. I was very curious at how she'd react to baddie me posing as her trying to convince civ Nev to vote for her. The initial plan was to try to get Vomps to vote with us, something that didn't involve my going: 'Oh hai, Vomps! Be a darling and vote for Bea ktnxbai!'. That obviously didn't work as he showed up and voted Nev before I could do anything about it, so we had to change the strategy. I was very worried that we were super obvious, especially since Matt and Vomps who possibly paid attention for less than two seconds had figured us out. Also, sorry SVS for going after you, butt I did warn you I was bad.
I apologize to everyone. This game soooooo did not get the attention from me it deserved. I was already stretched pretty thin with my playing ability and it's been forever and MANY days since I played a speed game. The strategy is different. The poll times always incontinently ended during my rush hours at work. I just kept forgetting to get back here in time.
Great job baddies. Really great job.
Goosey and Llama! You were fantastic hosts!! Loved the posts. Loved all the nods to noir. (I was secretly hoping svs was the dog. )
Host again soon and I'll try to move heaven and earth to be here for it with my full attention!

Re: [Day 5]: Film Noir.
also - gut and instinct come with experience and playing lots. And like I've said before, even then you have your own personal blind spots.Nevinera wrote:Those are both mafia roles, but one of them kills 'randomly' - that's why I said we got lucky with that kill.
And I used to try to use my instincts and gut feelings about things, but I was so *consistently* wrong that I decided to just quit trying that.
Now 'gut' for me is basically a code word for "information I'm not telling you".
I'd love to trust SVS's instincts about things, but I have no information at all about her alignment this game :-\
And gut feelings are a lot easier to fake than in-thread visible evidence.
I spend a lot of effort most games trying to figure out whether she's a civ, because I do really like to borrow her instincts when it's possible.
Sadly, her votes have revealed very little information about her, and there's not much else to work with yet.
Keep on keeping on my friend. I always value your spin on things as well. I think multiple view points make the town well rounded ya know?

so - also - just making sure I understand the Hayes Code - I can't say anything unpleasant. Like what I wouldn't say around my very respectable grandma right? W/O fear of punishment.

Re: [Day 5]: Film Noir.
noooo not hedgy! I was soo looking forward to playing with her.
nev - sorry to hear about the kidney stones. I hear how aweful they are from a girl prospective. I can only imagine how bad they are if you are a boy. rest well and rest long my friend.
So hedgy was killed by both the mafia and the indiys yes? or am I mis remembering the roles?

Nevinera wrote:He pinned the final vote on Dom, which is the type of evidence I trust most.S~V~S wrote:I don't know, I kind of thought the opposite.Nevinera wrote:Damn, I trusted him :-(
Rip, sir. Pretty sure you were good.
I thought he might be Indy, but they used their one kill on him, so that seems unlikely now.
You and I have radically different approaches to assigning trust in this game, of course.
By the numbers, he was probably a civ - otherwise he was playing some high-risk games with his teammates.
Not impossible, of course, and I'd never treat it as *proof*.. But still solid evidence of civness IMO.
Off meds - stone cleared, thank god. Very little sleep however.
nev - you tend to look at votes at patterns at things you can logically see.
SVS - plays by gut and instinct.
This is - of course not new to either of you - but you both are always right and always wrong. You both have blind sides in the way you play. (I do too. Many blind sides in fact) - but what I love about the both of you this game - is how you both recognize that and are working together. It makes me happy.
