Re: LOST

Bow down to the glory of the hed.

All things serve the funny.
All dinaurus are invisuble.
No rap is spoketh man.

The hed brings light and joy to all things dark and sad.
The hed brings love and peace.
The hed brings friends together.
The hed finds soul mates.
These things are all trustrys.

Thus says the 4th Scribe to the Cult of the Invisubl Dinausur :noble:

Long Con wrote:It was the trick they pulled with the flash-sideways... They pretended it was an alternate reality where the Island had blown up in the 70s, but it was really just the Afterlife. I would have really loved it if it had been an alternate timeline in which the Losties were actually getting memories from another timeline from near-death experiences.

It would have been perfect. It would have saved Boone. It would have meant that the plan for which Juliet gave her life actually worked, and been a happy ending. Instead , everyone just died and went to heaven together, as though nothing BUT the Island had ever been important in their lives.

see -I didn't have that idea - that the flash sidways was an alt reality.

I just didn't get that from what was presented.

but - I can see what you are saying. i THINK?

everyone was connected outside the island - and that was the impoprtant bit?

Re: LOST

LC - I'm super curious - because you said it was "almost* right - but then they effed it up.

And this is a viewpoint I've not seen before

Where did they fuck it up? Like - how were you not satisfied by the finale and how did it leave you unsatisfied?

I'm a minority fan here. I liked the finale. I cried like a baby and it was emo for sure but it was good emo. IMO.

I was from the start more character driven than mystery driven - so I was OK with the ending. Again - I know I'm in the minority.

But I am curious to what you thought was missing since you said they almost got it right.

(And if this erupts into a massive argument, i am never posting in the Main Forum AGAIN!!)

That said, i saw a synopsis of the link Goosey posted on You Tube a while back. I will probably check it out.
I just pissed myself. Remember old MF vs. OT debates? :D

I still don't understand what this MF thing is you people speak of? Was that the weird place I hallucinated when I'd drank too much and everyone in the DT left me?

Re: LOST

I've seen where they just did the crash in chronological order. That was some cool stuff right there.

And :haha: @ SVS What is this "Main Forum" of which you speak? :D

What I mean is that final episode trivialized everything that had occurred up until that point.

I think the show was fantastic until about season 5.
I truly don't think it trivialized everything.

I think they were scrambling to tie up loose ends. but I think the ending was emotionally satisfying. Jack was supposed to die in the pilot. The completing of the more major circles was beautiful. Vincent with Jack at that moment, and the plane going over head... that was film awesome. I cried like a baby when Sawyer and Juliet hooked up in the alt line. I cried EVEN MORE like a baby when Charlie got to help give birth to Aaron in the alt line. It was totally emo. But it was effective emo.

I'm sorry for people who were looking for something different, but at the end of the series, I think the emotionally satisfying is the way to go. Especially from a show that was touted as being "more character driven than plot driven." They found Walt. Hurley got time with his love. Everything from a character driven, emo, aspect was hit point and nail. Case in point: M*A*S*H* - Cheers. Maybe Fringe. Diggz and I still agree to disagree on that one.

Counter point case in point: Scrubs. Seinfeld. St. Elsewhere. And - as sad as I am to say this All In the Family.

I THINK a group did that on Lostpedia, or maybe Hedville. If it was LP, Dom would know, ask Bea about HV. I do remember talk about it, but i don't know if it was actually done.
I'm pretty sure the idea was floated on LP - I'm intrigued by it but I've never done it.

Part of me thinks that doing it will poke more holes and I don't want that.

I love my LOST the way it is.

It gave me my best friends. It gave me my husband. You know - the only episode we ever saw *together* in real time? Was when Sun and Jin did their dance in the sub.

My bbf boy version called to see if I saw it, when I said "yes and Diggz is here." He was all "go back to what you are doing." :noble:
