Re: Hello
I tend to be shy based on cirumstance. I wouldn't be shy meeting any of you because I've talked to you all before. I'm not shy at work talking to strangers. I am shy when I'm with a group of people I don't know very well. I was shy when I was meeting bdh's friends and family for example. I tend to shy up when I'm in a class full of new people. etc.
I was very shy when I was younger. Bartending/serving kinda kicked it mostly out of me. It's one of the main reasons I tend to be most outgoing a work.
linki - sabie - I'm the opposite. hehe.

People always repeat my name back to me so, I say, "Yep, that's right, Neil. Like Neil Armstrong, Neil Young, or Neil Diamond, pick your favorite." It was my grandmother's and then my aunt's and now mine, so third generation tradition and all. Woot, woot!
It's a pleasure.
I had to google him.
Also, no one picks Neil Diamond, so I have also started mixing in Neil Patrick Harris, but that's a mouthful.
That's what he said.

Excepting the.liking the.sport part - I agree.Metalmarsh89 wrote:I like the sport, but I find the culture that surrounds it is a bit silly. Re: Hello
@ made - one of my bestest buddies from college is named Jeremiah. We called him Jer all the time. Are you very tall and very handsome in a nerdy sort of way? You wouldn't by chance happen to be located in the Cleveland area would you? If you tell me how much you love Thursday's and 80's/90's New Wave/Techno music I may have a heart attack!
@ SVS - it really is 4 years old! OMG - where does time go? I swear it feels like two summers ago.... that said, I'm pretty sure my location still says "standin' in the circle." lol.
@ splintsy - it's football season, diggz only has one wife now and it ain't me.

Re: Hello
also - lots of the men on this site got to know each other on a site called progarchives - and that site was WAY more about using the real names for the peeps in the know. It's one of the bleed over things from here I'm always learning to adapt to.Metalmarsh89 wrote:It seems like the men on this site go by their IRL names often while the women go by their usernames.
Heck, I even refer to juliets (lowercase and all) by that name rather than the more apt Juliet.

Re: Hello
Rox became Rox in my mind as soon as she dumped "mom".fingersplints wrote:Nice to meet you officially, Holden. (Awesome name btw ) I am Mandi.
juliets is a private lady I know a lot of people by their first names but I've learned to try and avoid it when possible and especially in games. A good example is the other day I was telling some mafia related story to my husband and I refer to SVS by her first name, but I pretty much will always call her SVS on forums. I think the only exception to my rule is Rox, who I tried to call Tricks on ksite but probably always called her Rox anywaysMetalmarsh89 wrote:It seems like the men on this site go by their IRL names often while the women go by their usernames.

I don't mind being called either. I've ALWAYS used fingersplints. It's a username even my family associates with me.
And yes - like you svs - is always svs on the forums irl when talking to bdh - I refer to her by her name and he goes "who>?"
fwiw - you can call me Jen -but I don't know that I'd see it as quickly as I saw Bea if it were anywhere besides facebook.

Re: Hello
Hi Holden! I am Jen IRL - but really - I've been bea for like ever so I'm cool with both names. I'm not used to being called Jen anywhere online but facebook though so don't be suprised if I miss it if you call me jen.
