I am eating beer. Sam Adams - White Lantern just went down - trying this blackberry witbier before I move onto my red IPA. Then I shall work on cleaning more leftovers out of the fridge.

oh - yea - dark chocolate with peach just doesn't seem like a good combo. Peaches are so light in flavor. I'd say at *best* milk chocolate.

*puts on thinking cap* - I wonder how white chocolate and peach would taste. Would it be like a jacked up peaches-n-cream?

Have you ever had the Salty Dog? It's a greyhound with margarita salt on the rim of the glass. Lots of my greyhound drinkers back home would get them in the summer when they wanted the extra salt for hydration purposes.

I just had a norco. I am going to wash it down with some coffee.

Chicken turned out pretty great. Only adjustment to the plan I would make is to not give it quite the low slow 8 hour cook. I dished out all the veggies and potations, but when I went to pull the chicken quarters out, they just crumbled apart from cooking so long. On the plus side - the meat was nice and juicy and easy to eat. On the down side, it didn't look very visually appealing.

I tossed in a can of chicken broth too thinking that I would make gravy. IDK, maybe less liquid in the crock pot would have helped to keep things together a bit more?

2 more hours to go - chicken quarters - with carrots, onion, squash, zuccini, red and yellow potatoes. Cooked for 8 hours in the crock pot - seasoned with some dill, some thyme, some turmeric, some majorium, a bay leaf and just a sprinkle of chinese 5 star spice on each chicken quarter.

I'm still waiting for it to be done so I can decide if it was awesome or fail yet.

What do you put in your egg salad? For a long time I was putting curry into my mixture, but now I'm on a tarragon kick instead.

I just had some cashew butter on some wheat Saltines. Not my favorite, but I was really rushing out the door this morning.

I usually make it very basic. Eggs, celery, onion, mayo, mustard, paprika, salt, pepper. Tarragon sounds like an interesting twist though. I may have to try that next time! (I adore dill in potato salad btw.)

Your "make it better with food" meal sounds divine. I'm going to make a lasagna at some point this week, just haven't figured out which day yet.

Tonight I'm making this: http://www.recipetips.com/recipe-cards/ ... tables.asp - I tweeked it a bit (I usually do most recipes) - I also added a bit of thyme to the spice mix, and I used Marsala wine for the broth. I also have a crap ton of fresh corn on the cob so I cut up a couple cobs into manageable sizes and tossed that in the crock pot as well. Currently, I'm boiling potatoes to make mashed potatoes. I think I'm going to use the hand masher for them this time as I am looking for a more chunky consistancy with this dish than I usually get from my Kitchen-Aid.

While I'm not "eating" it - I did "taste" it to make sure I had the proportions right.

I just made egg salad. We had a doz eggs to use and some bread that'll go bad if we don't eat something sammich like in the next few days....

Also - it''s starting to get into AZ summer time.

This will be my awesome before I go to work eats today.
And before work - I'll put some stuff for stew in the crock pot. By the time I get done working and the sun has long been set, it will be YUMMIES.

I would cut off my left arm for some well made pot food. *sigh*

You totes called it btw. He woke up and started cleaning the carpets so I didn't feel guilty about banging around in the kitchen. Yes - at 2:30 in the morning he was cleaning carpets and I was making white cheddar mac and cheese with bacon in it. You're right - we need a noble smiley.

It's almost 1 am and I'm considering making mac and cheese. Like from scratch. We got home at like 7 and I got lured into nappy land and now I'm just now waking up.

Or maybe I'll just eat candy. IDK *sigh*

I am noming some fine Killian's Irish Red. Then I will nom a glass or 2 of red wine. Then I will nom more turkey leftovers. This is the year in which I make a second turkey dinner because my one true love requests it. And which my one true love learns exactly HOW much turkey is left from a 14 lb turkey with only 2 people to eat it.
