You know sometimes when you hit "submit" on a post, but it doesn't post right away, and instead it shows you other comments that have appeared since you originally started writing out your post?

Well, when that happens, typically a player will type out "Linki" and then respond to those posts you see that have suddenly appeared.

As an example. My above post I posted towards Russ, then I hit "submit", but it showed me Floyd's post voting for MM. So I replied with a "Linki" and responded to Floyd.

Wow, I think I made that way too complicated. Can someone with some teaching skillz help me out here? Haha

I actually think you described the event quite well. That said - linki is what happens when you are trying to post but keep getting stopped. you can respond or not as you see fit. If I were alive I'm sure this would be pedantic pink. :haha:

Epignosis wrote:This post is about zebra and 3J. It's complex, so I won't describe it. Look at it yourself.

LC talks a lot to 3J about bolds and colors though. He's a graphic designer, but it seems a like a pointless discussion to have.

Tells Rico "Good eye" and "Roxy must be punished."

First interaction with Golden.

The next post is his big reveal that his bea suspicion is fake:
Long Con wrote:
FZ. wrote:LC's vote for Bea did strike me as fake...
I have to get ready and leave for work soon, so it's time to cast a real vote. The bea vote was actually fake. I thought, since votes are changeable, I'd make a fake case and see if I could catch any opportunistic baddies trying to latch on to it and follow the vote. It didn't really bear fruit; looking over BWT's reasons for voting bea, he is coming from a completely different angle. The truth is, bea's behaviour is pretty normal for her, and I don't suspect her much at all.

My real vote today will go to sig. Despite the reasonable explanation he had for my original suspicion of him (that he was crafting his posts too much, in a baddie way), I've found a few of his reactions suspicious. His reaction that I was "distancing" from him when I forgot he was the third player involved in an earlier discussion was bizarre, as was his assertion that I (and others) are "desperate to try and get him lynched".

sig, saying we're desperate to try and get you lynched strikes me in two ways, neither of them making me feel comfortable about you. On one hand, it's overdefensive and paranoid, and on the other, it's a way to buffalo us out of voting for you... because who wants to looks "desperate" to lynch someone on Day 1?

It's not much, but it's the behaviour I found most suspicious today, and it's time for me to lock in a vote.

Sorry for using you, bea! :haha:
At this stage, Long Con doesn't expect to get lynched. What I don't understand is why he would vote someone in the same post that he exposed his (failed) gambit. Oh well.

But LC defends bea out of it. He goes from pretending to suspect bea (falsely) to defending bea.

I'm voting bea now.
Ok. But I'm a civ. So you are voting a civ. I live how it occurs to none of the people who know and play with me regularly what a nub and easy mark I was for lc. That's cool though. Do what you must.

Re: [DAY 3] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)

I love you guys and I love playing mafia when I can.

I love that people are invested and want to play and win.

This is not an issue that is exclusively new for me because of the rym players, there have been some giganty threads before the cross over game.

And it's difficult to keep up. I work alot. So do many people. It took me from my last post to now not counting a 15 minute drive to work to get caught up from my last post. I mean no offence like at all, by by the time you hit inb10, maybe maaaaaybe you are arguing in circles and I quit paying attention to it long before that.

Between my vote last night (I was three pages behind and in the middle of dinner rush when I made it) and when I woke up the thread had grown 13 pages. Ya'll that's a lot for someone with limited free time. Please don't not post your feelings, just try to be understanding of those of us who already struggle to keep up. Please with a cherry on top.

I did not play the king author game that golden references, but from my understanding from the stories I've heard, it's consistent with how he's behaving here.

Willy's post on the votes is impressive. Nicely done.

That said, everything sorsha has done and said from the start 9f the game has mirrored how I've felt and would have responded were I in her shoes. From the day 1.

The only real issue I have of either of them is that they seem quick to name me bad based on a theory and not what I've done and said. It feels like they are not giving me the same benefit of the doubt that I willing to give them. That saddens me, but I will get over it because I love them.

As for everything else, I need time to think. It's VERY difficult to think and go back over things when I'm always behind, rest assured I am doing the very best I can.

That said it's time for Friday night dinner in the pizza shop. God help me.

When I prodded him to tell me what he thinks I might be doing as a baddie, he had nothing. He even insinuates that he doesn't have to have anything. That's not a good look.
Right back at you buddy. I think you are Long Con's teammate, and he was happy to get out to do A World Reborn, and I'm voting for JJJ right now.

PS - I've been Long Con's partner before and pulled exactly the same move with him, and we were both willing to do it, because we figured it would create the best cover ever. I don't buy your approach at all. If I had a kill, I'd kill you dead right now.

But, if you want to lynch me today, go ahead. I willingly encourage it. It will be in the town's interests to see how you are willing to do something zany and in the process frame someone you know is a good town asset. I think it would be useful for them to see my alignment.

By the way, I'm calling bea out as one of you as well. You, LC, bea, a long term plan from the start. Whoopee.
I have no idea if JJJ was LC's teammate or not. But I know I wasn't. You were as convinced as I was that bad LC wouldn't be that sloppy, yet because I was his target day 1 I'm his teammate? You may be correct about JJJ, not having BTSC, I don't know. But you are incorrect about me. I am a civ. I may be the most gullible, willing to try to find he good in everyone, nubbiest civ that ever lived but I am a civ. I do not fear a lynch. Like at all.

Well done to those of you who saw straight through LC's baddieness. He wrecks me in every single game. :(

fyi - I"m this far behind from my last post. And I have to get ready for work like right now. I'm trying to keep up but you all are a chatty group and I work another 13 hours today. :(

Re: [DAY 2] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)

ugh. I am here. Believe me Fz, if I could have gotten here sooner I would have. Time zones, crazy job, crazy customers calling me at home at stoppid o'clock in the morning! wtf??!! General SNAFU omg my store is burning down *again* Makes mafia very difficult for me. Skim my posts during recruitment and you will see GM bea is different from when I had time to play multipule games all the time and be all in. Even my days "off" aren't really mine anymore. :(

That said, given there is only one mafia team and they know who's on it. And the SK. I don't feel that posting lists etc is as big of a deal as it is when there are two mafia teams.

ATM - this is in no way as skittle yummy or as rainbow pretty as others, but I will comment on the people that stand out most to me:

I feel pretty good about you, Golden, Sorsha, Rox and Mac at the moment.
I actually agree with you about LC. But man...it's LC - ya feel me girl? I know LC knows what I'm talking about. :nicenod: ;)

I'm glad seaside started posting more because I was catching up and couldn't quite wrap my head around why him of all the lurkers.
Speaking of the lurkers, sawyer is the one that troubles me. I know he fell way behind, and I know I'm a low poster because keeping up is the devil in these games, but I want to hear more from him. He's making me feel the heeby jeebies.

Epi has been switching things around recently if I remember correctly. He's a tough read for me too. I can see what you are saying, then epi comes in and I'm all thinking "Oh, that makes sense." Mostly cuz epi's super good with words and junk. I'm watching him, but I don't think he's mafia at the moment.

I think I feel the same way about llama as I do about epi. I can see why his posts read odd to the RYM peeps. Normal llama seems strange to new people and this llama is a bit more quiet. Not sure it's busy or what, but his posts read to me like he's saying a lot of what he will do without coming back to do it. I'm watching and still not sure.

MM feels a little sketchy to me. LIke he's posting and he's having fun and he's being all marmoty, but not really contributing much content.

Rico - I'm sorry I haven't said much on D2 till now - which for me was yesterday. In my last post, I did say I was about to grow quiet due to work. Yesterday, the day I worked 18 hours straight running my pizza shop with no time for food and little time to so much as use the restroom. These shifts happen at least once a week and sometimes more. My job is wonky as anyone who has worked in the food service industry can tell you. I run the store. It has to be my priority. If you feel there is something I haven't addressed about your concerns for me, please explain it to me like I'm functionally stupid because honestly, by the time I get here for my "free time blow off moments" I am pretty much functionally stupid. I'm happy to address anything you think I missed.

JJJ feels like distracted JJJ from recruitment and he said he has RL stuff going on. Not sure what the RYM peeps that suspect him are seeing tbh.

Devin feels like devin - and that's no indication of his alignment. He's like this pretty much every game.
Eloh feels like Eloh - pretty much same gig as Devin for me atm.

LOTS of the RYM peeps are ???? for me as well as anyone else I didn't address by name.

All of that is to say, I don't feel confident in a vote, but may go with b4 because Golden seems to smell smoke. I am NOT absolving myself of an responsibility for my vote but for now I trust him and he's got good instincts as a civ.

Also - welcome BR!!! I was sad when you dropped and now I'm happy you are back!! I do not envy your catch up. :hugs:

That's a fair point. I'm not gonna lie, there are lots of people I always assume are civ until they prove me wrong. LC knows he is one of the exceptions to the rule in my own personal head space. I have a hard time not thinking he's bad just because he's so good at it. It's another reason why I feel like I'm an odd choice for him to gambit with regardless of his alignment.

Like Sorsha, I'm really curious as to his response to the "why bea?" question.

Re: [NIGHT 1] Talking Heads Mafia (RYM #90)

Everything about LC's gambit is weird to me. Even taking the fact that it was me out of the picture, I still can't see his logic into picking a player like me. I wouldn't think on Day 1 I'd done anything that you could even attach a small case to. His initial vote post about me was vague enough that JJJ had to ask for clarification as to his though process.

My mental stumbling block is that it just seems like such a sloppy move for a baddie LC to make. And LC is ANYTHING but a careless baddie. And for the life of me, I can't figure out a civ reason for him to pick me. I would think there would have been other supects who would have been "easier" to make a mark out of to pull the gambit with.

Everything about it was just weird. I honestly had to keep telling myself there wasn't a way for his vote to be forced day 1 because that's what it felt like to me. Like LC had been forced to vote for me.

I disagree that his RVS is that trivial, because of stuff I mentioned:

-- it was wildly unreasoned, by comparisong with most of the other RVS's
-- he later implied it achieved something and I have no idea what that is
The very first vote on aokiji/motel was, but at least on RYM that would be considered an obvious joke vote. In fact, it was your questioning of that vote that he used as saying it achieved something, that being to educate Syndicaters on the dark and mysterious voting rituals of day 1 RYM. It was basically his own type of "That's how I roll".

You didn't clarify the bolded part about his vote for BWT and why that means something to you.
Yes and when he implied that he achieved something by getting questioned for it, I asked him if that is the kind of desirable content that you'd expect to achieve. "I voted randomly and got suspected for it and that was in fact my goal". Erh?

The bolded part was, as you noticed, more a fact that I reviewed in my read. But to also answer what intepretation I'm giving it, I'm not fully sure; I don't even fully understand all the charges he brought up in that post, aside from BWT's vote being easy and potentially buddying up to JJJ.

If I were to split this chain of sussing, then:

lvl 1 - bea doesn't find that Day 1 brings anything consistent for properly suspecting players, so she uses to refrain from such activities in general | I don't agree with this per se and, as you can read in my read of her, whilst I acknowledge that this is usual meta for her, I'm wary how she pushed this stance in this game, ahead of any actual activity of any sort in this directin

lvl 2 - BWT disagrees with her stance (although also acknowledging her background) and votes her for that

lvl 3 - B24 suspects and votes BWT for what he see as an easy vote, plus other charges I already said I don't quite comprehend (the "direct attention in a very specific direction" or "combination of forced interaction as well as suspicion direction").

If there's something in this vote / exchange that partially adds to what makes me wary of B24, it's that I can't fully grasp what he's aiming for with his reads or input.
It was the conversation that was happening at the time and I was a) drinking and b) excited to actually engage in a realtime conversation. I wasn't trying to steer anything. I was adding my viewpoint - I will admit probably more agressively than I would have say...now...when I've not had beers - but no. I wasn't trying to thread lead in any way.

:haha:
You jerk! :p :haha: For 2 days I've been trying to figure out where the hell that came from. I was all "maybe his vote was forced?" "no that can't be we haven't had a night yet." "I don't think he's bad, but omg wtf is up with LC's lack of reasoning for voting me??!! How does he not know me well enough to know I'm always indecisive day 1?" I even felt bad because I was totally trying to shame the super lame vote. :p

You just can't resist messing with me somehow in games can you LC? :haha:

Ok - still catching up. I'e been roughly two pages behind all day. Guess who's super cute and has no days off this week. Yup. This :bea:

As for why - I'm guessing to fleedge out the new site members. It's an OLD argument for us on this site. And sometimes it pops up again even with experienced peeps who've played 11tybillion games with all of us. (*coff*sockhost*coff*)

I appreciate that you're used to the strategy, but alongside a lack of any other meaningful contributions it seems more likely to me that roxy played it not out of the intrinsic value you see in the strategy but due to the benefits it would give scum to play it that I mentioned earlier.

So the logical question that follows is: Has she had any helpful content besides this apparent trap/fleedge strategy in your opinion?

"Get me, fam?" translates approximately to "I do so hope I've made myself clear; is that the case, family?"
No. And I'm not sure yet if she's civ or scum. that's exactly my point. I don't know yet. IF she is civ she's a great asset. I would hate to get rid of someone who would be awesome to our cause for something so simple as she's OT and she went random.

Rox spent a lot of time in MY home mafia forum. Hedville. And it's like the forgotten step child of the rest of our forums. We were all about the zany OT and the fun. Our motto was srrsbns is NOT our bnss. I can't judge her allignment because it's day 1 and day 1 is kinda a wash while it's going down. After the lynch, after the night phase - then we can talk.

Let us see if she a) random votes b) who it's for and c) if anyone else goes along with it.

If 3 other people "random" there, I might look her way. If she "random" votes and it's all by it's self, I might not.
I guess the crux of this is that I personally don't see 'OT and random voting' as just a trivial concern, even if it is on-meta, nor do I consider someone being an asset when they're town a good reason to not question someone's towniness (although MP said that one time and turned out to be town, maybe it's a TS thing.)
I get where you are coming from. I do. I am just saying I'm not there yet for these reasons. Maybe down the road I will be there, but I don't feel it yet. Ya know?

This is how Roxy responded to me AND how I responded to a bunch of allegations, yet you've defended me a couple of times. What's up?
There is no reason to defend RVP imo. Again that's a genuine strategy and it isn't much of a personal playstyle when maybe up to 10 players pursue it on day(me included). As for your aggressiveness it may be how you roll but personal experience has shown me that aggressiveness is more related to townie behavior than scum behavior. A townie is a more likely to make an accusation, rally a lynch and take the blame for it than a scummer. Even vocal scum who are rarer than vocal townies on rym tend to have a sense of neutrality and ask for others' opinions to reinforce their case.
Let's say I have feeling about you or to put it in a more concrete manner I think your playstyle does more good than bad.

The worst thing that could happen on day 1 is to not have enough data to link on day 2 after the first lynch/nightkill.
Now I know I adore you. That and the post you made just after this one.

linki: Diiny, the backing off was from Ricco, and I'm backing off a little. I want to follow other paths as well.
I tend not to have suspicions on day 1. That's the issue with me personally. I read everyone at face value till they give me a reason not to.

I also argue the exact point you make. There are more townies than scum. If I follow SOMOENE ELSE'S day 1 suspicion as weak as day 1 suspicions are, I most likely hit a townie. If I random vote one vote on someone who's not likely to be lynched, I throw away my vote. I would self vote day 1 aka Jason Maurer from another forum if it didn't have the bag of shite attached to it that it does.

I understand someone voting their tiniest ping. I hope they understnad why I don't follow them and throw my vote away.
