Then I thought maybe he was Matt because we have had so much bts together and he kinda sounded....oddly like Matt. So he coped to being Wigly. Which for a while I bought. (btw LC - diggz says I should blame you for my trust of Wigly for this. Just sayin...) Since Wigly is pretty much an enigma to me I did buy that. And told him his "info" was wrong and I was a civ. Keep in mind, I didn't know what game chatterbox was from or anything. I miss LOTS these days.

Then he FINALLY copped lying to me AGAIN. And that he was LC. And then I was all GOD DAMNIT LC!!!!

Then I finally believed he was a civ. Even though I still wouldn't tell him all my positions - just my prefered ones and why. And he was all you still don't trust me 100 percent do you? And I was all not till your role card is turned and it doesn't say "recruited" after it. You taught me not to. And then we had a cyan code where he would pull peeps into his bts and I would know what he thought about them and then everyone lynched him.

My bts with LC is HANDS DOWN one of my all time most favorite mafia moments. It was so fun and funny. And awesome. And we were going to be awesome civs together!! And it's fitting that this was one of my most favorite mafia moments of all time since he gave me my most favorite mafia role of all time. Cut sadly too short.

That reminds me - LC - since rebooting is a thing - what would you think about rebooting Sandman?

I reckon Boomslang did the civs a favour though because LC was right in the hammer of being played by me, bless him. He'd already wasted two separate nights on giving me BTSC and had another one blocked. Had me first night and then I told him to get Wilgy in there... He chose bea of his own accord out of fear that I kept telling him to invite my teammies (I actually had just told him to invite Matt hahaha) which in hindsight was probably not the wisest choice because bea, bless her she's such a trusting lady he probably should have invited someone a bit more discerning to analyse the situation.

You saw how much me and Wilgy simply HAVING btsc with LC convinced bea we were good, btsc is a strange beast because you just can't help but trust who you're talking to. I did the same thing in AWR with Hamburger Boy (who fuck me is an outrageously good player). If he invited a couple more civs before dying Wilgy and myself might have found ourself part of a civvie voting bloc hahaha.

He didn't trust you 100 btw. I swapped your powers to him that night to see if he ended up deaded. It was more the role than lc truat. When I couldn't pin you down to any role but that role, it was easy to believe that you were on the up and up. Lc and I did work out a thread code. And don't think for one red second he didn't have to work HARD in our bts to get me to trust that he wasn't bad.

In the end, maybe he would have seen it and things would have been different. But yea. Sweet trusting bea was trying to poke her own holes, she was just the fail.

That was some fun times. It's neat to see how much you've changed since then matt, but how still somethings remain the same. You can pull off the most amazing baddie shit ever by being as ballz to the walls as you were that first game.

And also daisy would have spotted it far sooner than I did if she hadn't had to replace out.

He then explained that his role power, which matched somewhat that of the Grim Shaman. Each day that a player is lynched, Matt can use that player's power at night. Once in the game, he can use a nightkilled player's power.

Then here's where I fell hook, line, and sinker. Matt proceeded to fabricate a story for the ages, giving a pretty accurate description of what he had done up until this point in the game. I'll make it a list.
Night 1: Says he gained no power because Ricochet didn't really have a power. Makes sense.

Night 2: Says he was able to create a shield, and did so, giving it to himself and using it Night 3. Sounded reasonable.

Night 3: Says he targeted Dr. Wilgy to see if he went anywhere. I was surprised Matt didn't check me, but Matt gave me this story about how he's always wrong about Wilgy, so felt the need to check him.

Night 4: Says he was vanilla because llama hadn't activated his ability yet. I questioned him on this one, because I figured llama had killed Night 3. But Matt hinted I woulda been dead if he had gotten one, so I lol'd and let it go.

Night 5: Says his vote got +1'd from the Tranq lynch, but Matt missed the vote the next day, so it made it worthless.

Night 6: Says he got BTSC with juliets. I should have asked for a transcript, but ah well. I also should have wondered, since Matt said he got BTSC with a player who later died. Matt said the BTSC did not go well, but he explained everything anyway (though he was under the mask of the Chatterbox).

Day 7: Here's where it gets good. After Dom was nightkilled, Matt said he used Dom's power to learn Sorsha's role, which he informed me was Gustav Shrik, from Harry Stephen Keeler, a llama game. Matt then pointed to two instances in the thread (here and here) where he hinted to Sorsha that he knew her role. He also told me that he learned Sorsha was a civ, and for that reason, he knew that Dom could learn alignments when checking players. It was a good story. Matt didn't actually hint to her until Day 9, but it still came before Matt would have had any idea he'd get BTSC with another player, so it looked real.

Night 7: Matt says he targeted nijuukygou with the question curse. After falling for the Sorsha bit, I was ready to believe anything Matt said, so I bought it.

Night 8: No lynch, so no power.

Night 9: Matt said he tried to target me, but I was not vote-blocked or anything. Juliets had a roleblocking role, so I just reasoned it was that.

Night 10: Says he targeted himself Night 10 to remove a lynch vote from himself.
Anyway, the above was a really good story. Not perfect in retrospect, but certainly very believable. It was the reason I couldn't bring myself to actually vote Matt on the final day.

Matt said he got a protect on Night 11. We discussed who to protect. At that point, I thought bea was the final baddie, as did Matt. We knew Sorsha could not be nightkill because she was targeted the previous night. I explained to Matt that I had a Pikmin power on me, so I could not die. We knew that FZ had voted for the Mechaspark role, so we presumed that she got a shield out of it, and probably used it on herself. That left Matt no choices for the protect, except for the suspect in bea. I thought about telling Matt to protect her anyway, but I never said it. Anyway, bea was eventually nightkilled, which did make me second-guess Matt for a bit. I knew that he knew that bea was the only player who would be successfully nightkilled, and thus his only option. Had I told him to protect bea, either I would have found out he was full of shit, or he woulda targeted myself or FZ instead, resulting in no death.

Also, I gave Sorsha a similar hint that Matt did that I knew her role. I took her response as confirmation. Because I did, I found myself late believing she was bad, having a role from a llama game. That coupled with a few other things determined my vote.

Anyway, well played Matt. You all can call me foolish, naive Marmot now. I deserve it.

I should have redirected him instead of me that night. It would have been confirmation to me at least that he was bad even if I had to try to convince you guys. I had already accepted my lynch so I was trying to use the Sorsha gift and my redirect to give you all as much info as I could when I role flipped.

Also I loved how daisy got the same role in this game that she had in recruitment! She had to have been super sad to have had to step down. I know how much she loved it.

The worst part was I actually kept trying to find a way to see if Mac was who he said he was, but when wigly didn't die it pointed right to him. So, then it was oh. He was the protector, he made a mistake. Then Sorsha lived. Also I kept trdirecting his night powers and stuff to try to protect people.

on the night everyone got hella cursed I'd redirected newt to bullz so when he flipped the cursor I redirected newt to Mac thinking that everyone would get hella protected.

Congratulations mac. You are now in an elite club. You are on my lc list. :srrsnod:

I get it rico. I really do. They said everything I possibly could in my defense. Mac, drac, wigly all of them. The only difference between me and them is my role card reads civ. And the only way you will know that is by lynching me. I feel oddly zen about it tbh. At the very least you will know soon enough that I have not been a lying baddie mcbaddderson.

Also, why would a two-baddie team delay (or even compromise) their odds of winning, by messing with a night kill? As bea said, their failed night kill enabled for us another day, if not two. Them sending a successful night kill would have instead sent us into virtual lylo yesterDay. I feel a bit like Epignosis saying this, but mafia's objective is to kill, not perform mindtricks.
I tend to agree, and Bea still looks the worst. Like I said, I think she started out by voting Mac because she thought it would make her look better and she could survive this, and then when it became clearer that these are the two last baddies, she changed it to Matt in a last attempt to save Mac. That's the obvious solution.
That said, if you think you're going down and you want your last baddie to survive until the end, what better way than to fake them being targeted and saved. At this point, it would definitely imply that the person is civ because there is no other team that could try to kill. So if you think about it, the last person to be voted for at this stage, is Sorsha. Therefore, that would be a brilliant plan.
But while I type it, I don't think it's true, LOL. This game is just messing with my mind.

I thought mac was the protector. I thought the protector was civ. It alligned with both is in thread behavior and what I knew from out of the thread. So yes, I tried to save mac. Because I thought keeping a civ protector alive was important. I was wrong.

I wasn't faking knowing the outcome. I was responding to things as I read them. I was unware of the time and that the flip had occurred as I was sneaking reads in on my phone at work while cutting pizzas on one of the biggest business days of our work year. on the flip side - no more football!!! wooohooo!!! done with the madness till september!

LC was right to trust me. I just played a suck game. I know there is no way to avoid my lynch tomorrow and I don't have a lot to say in my defense. Were anyone else in the position I'm in now, I'd feel as sure as anything of lynching them. It's really frustrating, btw, to be in this position so close to the end. Not because I want to win. I don't deserve to win. But because I don't want the civs to loose because of me.

Look I'm stuck by the short hairs here. I can't defend against being patently wrong about literally everyone I trusted (lc ironically being the only one I put my trust in correctly. ) I thought dh was civ. I was wrong. I thought drac was civ. I was wrong. I thought wigly was civ. I was wrong. I thought Mac was civ and I was wrong.

I had reasons that hard hard for me to express without rule breaking. I'm boned regardless of what happens at this point. When you see my role you will cry. Then when you see how I got to where I did you will laugh even harder at me than you did just a bit ago. Queen nub is ever present.

I didn't say civs would lose. I said civs won't win because of my lynch. I'm not bad. If you lynch me the game continues. And that's fine.

I'm ok with dying. I've played shit. You won't win tomorrow because I'm not bad, but I don't deserve to win anyway. So yea.

I have no real animosity toward any position. Some I just think are more useful than others.

So given the fact that last nights lynch poll didn't end in a lynch. Imma voting for the position I like best. And I like position 4. Position 2 is awesome too. The rest are prety, frankly lame.
