Re: Buckets: War of the GOATs [Day 2]

Lol oops I didn't actually expect to get annoyed by that as much as I did.

It's just that completely discrediting the way I'm playing the game as "oh you're not even trying to solve" is bad and you should probably feel a little bad for it lol.

Oh it has nothing to do with nanook,

Essentially: I think ur playing with a survival mindset more than a solving mindset. An example is that u trd trans when the lobby was townrrading him, then found him scummy when his consensus changed. You looked to reconsider you read on him towards eod when essoa was thinking he’s town and when trans had towny moments but you also said lines such as “trans has to be the hammer today” and that type of suggestion didn’t line up with everything else you were saying imo.

A similar thing happened a bit earlier just when u cased mac, the timing of it felt right at the same time that people were ganging up on mac tthe most. Ender has been getting townier today and myself and essoa are starting to tr him, u mentioned him being towny pretty recently too despite being at odds with him for most of d1. It just feels like ur adjusting ur read a lot based around what essoa and other consensus slots are saying, instead of organically coming to those conclusions yourself through your own scumhunting.
So to actually address all of this:

- The thread never townread Transcend.
- Even if the thread did townread Transcend me changing my read wouldn't mean much anyway because there must have been valid reasons for the other people to townread him as well.
- You literally acknowledged at EoD1 that I was attempting to save matt and gave up once he started self voting. Don't act like I stopped trying to save him because he got scumread lol.
- Yes, I said that matt had to be a policy chop if he insisted on self voting when he was at tied wagons with Mac. That was while I was defending him yes.
- I was LITERALLY asked to explain my scumread on Mac by Esooa. Read the post I'm responding to first please.
- I also mentioned why Ender was town earlier. "Ender is getting townier today" and then you scumread me for agreeing? Yes I also think he has been townier today that's not a read personal to you surprisingly.

I'll make my own reads and not be dictated by others but thanks.

And comments like that feel like they’re made to discredit the validity of reads, you’re trying to make my read seem weak my labeling it as a pre-flip association when my read on you has nothing to do with nanooks alignnment. I just independently find other slots in the poe to be very towny rn, combined with the points mentioned in my previous post as well as the points esooa brought up earlier
I was mostly asking out of interest tbh.

I mean I the nicest way possible I don't think you need my help to discredit that read on me lol.

This is a bad reaction as well.
Yes. Because our interactions so far have been:
Me: "Wiml might be a wolf for vague reasons, don't push it."
You: "What are your reasons? I've been towny!"
Me: "You haven't done any towntells that I don't think you can fake as mafia."
You: "Towntell? I burnt your last towntell in Scythe."
Me: "I don't like that reaction. Eventually back off to put you closer to null as I scumread Mac and others more."

Esooa: "Here's a case on Wiml."
Me: "Hey that justifies my bad feel about his push back on me earlier also I kinda agree with it."
You: "That's a bad case and a bad reaction."

Almost half our interactions have been you reacting to me because I won't townread you.

I don't know whether that's a scum reaction or a town assuming you should be townread, but I'm never going to like 70% of it.

If you're actually town this game, I don't know how to tell you that telling me that you should be townread is never going to work with me.

And I'm trying to be reasonable about this.
It's not that you're scumreading me it's that you're not really putting any genuine effort into reading me and I think that's completely out of character for your town play so far, especially if I'm your top wolf.
It's only out of character for my higher wim moments. My emotive state is entire dependant on how work has gone and how recently I've played D&D or something else fun.

See early on in Basic Mafia where I had low WIM to actually case people.

Or early on in African Bird (Albeit that was 12/12 so different feel)

Not heavily casing people isn't really AI for me. (Self meta to ignore a scumread, that's scummy!)
I don't mean cases I mean stuff like you accusing me of being opportunistic without trying to understand my perspective at all.

Given that I've burnt you so often as both alignments I feel like you should be caring more.

Re: Buckets: War of the GOATs [Day 2]

Esooa wrote: Mon Aug 02, 2021 7:17 am wiml why do you think Mac is a wolf
Because he's pushing takes he obviously doesn't believe in (notably him being threadspewed town - from my experience pushing it myself in Scythe I just don't think anybody who pushes that take in a situation like this actually believes in it lol and him townlocking me for weird reasons as well). All of his substantial pushes up until the point where he was firmly a candidate for dying today have been on obvious or flipped towns.

He's also making posts that are clearly just for the sake of being townread by the people who don't know him well (particularly that stream of consciousness-esque wall that really has no purpose existing and I know Mac can easily replicate as a wolf because even I could so it literally has no reason to exist besides looking superficially towny to people who don't know him as well). I remember him doing stiff like this a lot D1 as well (and remember Alison correctly shutting down bad townreads on Mac for similar things throughout D1).

There's a reason illario/alexa aren't actively pushing for Mac any more and it's this. He's making posts that I honestly see no other purpose to besides this.

His whole "I need to flip today as town" thing at SoD2 is something I explained earlier but I also really struggle to see coming from him as town.

There are a couple of redeeming things (mostly because I think he had the chance to try to get me flipped at EoD and didn't capitalise it) but that's about it.

This is otoh mind.

its not that, i just dont really see u solving any alignments

if ur town the best thing u can do here is to just ignore all the pressure and figure out who else is scum
You have correctly identified that I do zero solving while asleep.

If this is about me being in the thread yesterday, I already said I was not intending of playing the game until after I got up in the morning and only chimed because 1. Whatever Mac was doing was incredibly bad if town and I couldn't hold my tongue and 2. I stuck around purely for the sake of alexa and that's why I only responded to her questions.
Can you give me a current POE/Gamesolve? (Ignore if you already have, I'll see it on catchup)
I think you/Mac/Nanook/TSP probably wins us the game. If I'm misclearing somebody outside of that pool I'm 80% sure it's LC and he's the main person in my TRs that I want to look at again.

Ideally I want to narrow that down to just three names though.

As for the others, alexa I think is just hard town from stuff that happened last night that I'm not really going to get into tbh. illario I think is just completely out of his wolf range tbh. I'll look at him again at a later point in case he's revolutionised his wolf game but he's almost always just town. I think his EoD was towny as well. Esooa I was worried about misclearing too easily going into D2, especially with Alison flipping, but she's just been overwhelmingly towny today.

Regardless of your alignment, sorry for my lightly heated response.

Will wait for your responses.
I'm not in a position where I can respond to most of the posts in the thread right now but I just want to respond to this to say no worries at all.

you can try
- You know I have a personal wolf meta of actively attempting to pocket you as a wolf and that I'll lean into this very strongly in a game.

- You're scumreading me for not appeasing your meta read in the same way that I normally do and then going out of my way to say your meta townread is bad because my meta townread is better.
:dark:
I don't know what that emoji means but I'll take it as a lock town read and be on my way.

for this to work you have to keep scumreading me wiml btw. so even if I manage to pocket you just pretend I haven't.

Unironically though Mac's game this game has so many parallels to my game in Scythe that I'll feel super vindicated if he flips wolf.

I noticed what you said earlier and I think it's a pretty consistent trend throughout his posts.

My issue was that there was no cohesive progression. He was switching between saying that he thought LC was towntelling and then still tunneling him regardless? I really don't think the strength of the reads he expressed actually matched his actions at all and it reads to me more like poor handling of TMI that LC is town and feeling obliged to townread certain posts that LC made than genuine read progression.

I'm trusting your judgement for today though.
can u quote the thing from Transcend that made you think this
It wasn't one thing, he did it like 5 times.

It's hard to read long ISOs because of software issues on phone but it was like a trend of pushing LC -> oh wait he's towntelling -> back to pushing LC like the previous comment never happened and that happening numerous times.
Where was Transcend tunneling LC?
Towards the start of the game. I was referring to before he reevaluated.
