Such as?
FLORIDA (I already understood while writing this that there weren't many fans to lose R.I.P. Tampa)
What on earth are you talking about here LMAO?! I love it when people who don't live here try to speak with authority about how we feel about our sports teams, smh. The Lightning had many, many fans before the pandemic and then - maybe you missed this - we won the Stanley Cup 2 years in a row. This town loves the Lightning and the fans aren't going anywhere even if we lose a lot of games this year.

Sorry, when you're in the center of the hockey universe, all other markets seem small.

Re: All Things NHL

The Eastern Conference this year... Yet another reason why the NHL season doesn't need to be 82 games long.

This is the best Leafs team of all time, and we're going to get bounced in the first round. How does that make you feel?

You're welcome
I said at the start of the year, this team is going to be better than last year's team. People forgot in the first few games, last year we lost to the Cannucks who just got back from COVID Outbreak.

Yeah, I get the impression that he's really sick of getting all of these non-hockey stories that are pretty heavy (along with a heavy helping of single/divorced dad problems).

I question a medical hotbed issue going to Vegas of all places. They haven't exactly shown themselves to be the most loyal to their players. Undoubtedly this drama will happen again around Eichel's name in a couple years.
If Vegas makes the playoffs, they're going to be dangerous because they'll have so much cap space banked in LTIR.

G-Man wrote: Thu Oct 14, 2021 10:41 pm I don't think Ovi is going to break Gretzky's record. I think age will catch up to Ovi about a season too soon given the speed and physicality of the modern game.

He needs three 50+ goal seasons just to get him to the doorstep. Ovi would be older than Gretzky was when he retired at that point. I can see Ovi getting maybe two more 50+ seasons. After that, he'll have to string it out and break Gretzky's record while his career is in decline.
The pandemic sucks for ovi, but at the same time, it might slow down the progression of youth just enough for Ovi to stay on top a couple more years.

Re: All Things NHL

I think you're being overly critical of their performance so far though. Even though it hasn't been great, I think there are some good signs. The main problem tonight is the slow start... Where have we heard that before?.. Probably won't be a problem in the playoffs... Probably...

On mute and only vaguely. They've played terribly so far. That intro sequence with the Arkells and the dead silence was pretty cringe, lol.
I mean, the building was more lively with the fake fan sounds, but we all knew that was going to be the case. Scotiabank arena has been less enthusiastic than a graveyard since... Well, I've never known it to be any other way. Bell center is wild, fun as a visiting fan.
