Mafia is just offing those obvtown. Leaves lurky players for late-game. My original suggestion is still a good one. Will be looking for mafia to vote for this phase, so as to prevent them from choosing their weakest link to win.

I wonder if optimal play is to just vote out the lurkers. Those who post a lot should be easy to solve towards late-game. Or, we should always leave the most obvious townie in the game. From what I noticed in mafia games, it's usually D1 that determines the rest of the game.
If it's spot-on, but no wolf flip, then the rest of the game will go far far away from D1 reads.
If it's wrong, and no wolf flip, then the civs will go straight into solving and possibly winning.

FYI, I recently finished a game where 3p claims won, while town lost. Not sure how this site approaches 3p, but they're usually burned with fire on my homesite.
