Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day One
I would like a shower. I'm posting this even though I'm behind, so I don't know if Simon said to say "So say we all."
As for today, I've been spending time with mothers and grandmothers. I just got home.
If I get lynched because I'm not here and everyone thinks I should post a hundred times during Mothers Day weekend when our dryer died, that's okay. It happens. I'm not going to get bent out of shape about it, and I'm not going to post more just because people think I should. I've just finished a big game that exhausted my mental faculties and my nerves.
There's a game-related reason I cut my Day 0 posts short. I'm just not going to blurt out why like someone else did. But it became bedtime for me anyway.Ricochet wrote:Epignosis is becoming a lynch subject and I can't say his posts are defensible. He cut short his D0 activity and his return was apparently in low mood. Of substance was only a top/bottom 3, posted (at JJJ's request?) without reasoning. The sequence of banter with MM, especially around MM's wild vote on him, seems casual dismissal. Anyway, as non-contributors go, his name is pretty relevant. I'm not entirely sure what read to extract out of this, the only instance I remember of him intentionally wanting to pedal less in a mafia game was THM (civilian) and even then he got in slight trouble for it.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day One
Out of the gate, DrumBeats was swift to begin solving the puzzles. He thus strikes me as a person who pays attention to detail and has a mind geared toward obtaining the maximum amount of information available to make a logical move. He was even correcting people. So the questions he is asking ("Are we allowed to change votes here? I figured that the poll would lock it." for example), to me, do not jive with the initial impression I have of him. I think he's very capable and I think he's subtly overplaying the new guy card.S~V~S wrote:@ Epi can you explain your read of Drumbeats? Even though I show up on his list, I feel pretty good about him.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day One
I didn't know what I wasn't going to be here due to real life. I didn't have plans. I found out about an impromptu Mothers Day cookout across town rather last minute. We've been gone all day. It's Mothers Day weekend. Do you really expect me to sit here at my computer playing an Internet game?Silverwolf wrote:Because you hadn't been around and barely posted and iirc, you didn't say you were not going to be here due to RL (if I'm wrong, correct me here) so I had not way of knowing you'd be back. At the time, I felt you were not contributing and I know via Downtown Abby and Turf Wars that you contribute more as town so I felt comfortable with the vote because of this and because I had no better scumread as I was (and still am) doubting my scumread on Rico as I may be changing my mind on that and want more time to figure him out.Epignosis wrote:Silverwolf, you cast an immutable vote against me on a day I was mostly unavailable, yet you are here now and could have saved your vote until this time to hear what I had to say. Why did you not do that?
linki-I put a second vote on you. Not exactly bandwagoning and I waited until late today to do so.
You seem to have almost no problem with MM's vote. In fact, you accepted it with very little fuss. You also seem to have no trouble with ika following me. I don't really understand how you so easily accept their votes, and call out mine.
I don't have a problem with MM's vote. His Day 1 vote is always bullshit and there's a new victim every time. This time it's me. Evidently, you think you know more about what I do when I'm this or that, but you don't know what MM does. That's telling. You didn't question his weird vote for me. Instead, you followed him.
I don't have a problem with ika's vote (?) because he's just following you, which I think he would do regardless of where you voted.
I have a problem with your vote.

I'm going to harp on this. Silverwolf acts like she knows what I do when I'm good or bad. She just said I'm more active when I'm good, and cited Downton Abbey (I was good) and Turf Wars (I was bad) as evidence of this claim.
That's a bad enough discrepancy, but there's more: In Turf Wars, Silverwolf only started suspecting me when I intentionally tried to discredit her opinion of ika (who was my teammate). She did not suspect me for my level of activity.

If I was home and posting, would she have voted for me? I'm not saying she voted for me because I wasn't home. Scrimmage: Newer Syndicateer and visiting players are heavily suspicious of MovingPictures07. Syndicate regulars defend MovingPictures07 because they know him better. MovingPictures07 is mafia.
We need to learn from this trend.
Who are these non-syndicate regulars and who are the syndicate regulars, and why you have lumped them all together?

I did miss your reason. You have way to many posts to look through. Can you help a lady out? It would be helpful to see all positions here.
he has low activity (truf wars)
funny enough in the short term of champ game he was much diffrent to silver the he is now

Changing their mind isn't my objective. They've already voted, and votes are not changeable.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:I would absolutely loathe mislynching Epignosis on Day 1. Epignosis, if you're town then I don't think it's terribly likely you're going to change the mind of either Silverwolf or ika. To continue discussing it with them would be fruitless and perhaps even make it worse. So it'd probably be better both for your faction and for yourself if you'd drop that discussion and focus solely on your own suspicions and other reads. You've proven repeatedly to have good instincts and to be a valuable component of any civilian team, and I don't want to see that wasted.
Do you think a civilian Silverwolf would have waited for me to post? She voted for me way early in the day (judging by the fact that she was here a little while ago). Do you think a Sivilianwolf would follow MM's vote without questioning him about it instead of expecting me to do so?
That's the chief reason why I think Silverwolf is bad at this juncture. Her inability to keep my activity levels straight and her reasoning for suspecting me in other games (two, mind you) are secondary, but there.

In each case, that's a small sample size, I would argue, but assuming I'm cool with it: In your opinion, how does that apply to ika and Silverwolf right now? ika's immediate vote for me alongside Silverwolf (with no independent reason of his own) indicates that he believes she is good.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:I can expand on every example. Who are these non-syndicate regulars and who are the syndicate regulars, and why you have lumped them all together?
1. People who defended Long Con included but weren't limited to you and Golden. People who suspected Long Con included me and I believe Diiny among others.
2. People who defended MacDougall included me and motel room. People who suspected MacDougall included you and Matt among others.
3. Silverwolf suspected Epignosis. S~V~S and I both spent too much time defending you.
4. Silverwolf and Frog suspected MovingPictures07. Golden defended him.
In each case, the player with the most experience playing with the suspected player was the one who was wrong.
I don't share that opinion. I think a Sivilianwolf would have waited to hear from me before voting.

Yes.
Do I think Silverwolf voted well earlier than she needed to and could have given you more time to respond to her accusations before placing a binding vote (particularly given her FoS strategies stated earlier)?
Yes.
Do I think it's meaningful that her vote followed MM's dubious vote without concern for that situation?
Yes.
Silverwolf, the latter two points apply to you. Please answer to them.
I wasn't sure I would be around EoD or that Epi would and I didn't want to miss the vote. Epi was around some during this day phase and had plenty of opportunities to post more meaningful content when he was here. His posts underwhelmed me, then he was barely here. Then he discredits me when I suspect him but gives ika and MM a pass.
This is plenty good reason for a D1 vote. I don't see anyone else putting their neck out to take a vote/stance on anyone. Don't you find that odd also? I do.
You voted me 4:33 pm.
You posted in the five o'clock hour, the six o'clock hour, the eight o'clock hour, the nine o'clock hour, and you're here in the ten o'clock hour.

"Defensive tunneling?" What the hell is that?DrumBeats wrote:Alright, I just got caught up, and I retain my FoS on Rico. Though I appreciate giving out a few reads now, most of them were relatively neutral, and one was even a straight null null read.
I'm not sure what to make of Epig right now, my gut is scumleaning Epig for the defensive tunneling, but the read is too slight for me to feel good acting upon today without hearing more.
I've got some stuff to do before I update the game I'm hosting later today, so I won't be able to wait out Epig's answers with you guys, I trust that if they do not come you guys will push that vote instead.
Vote: Ricochet
