Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day One

I'm camping this weekend and the Internet is spotty. I was able to at least catch up but it took forever so now my phone battery is drained. Will try to stop by again later tonight and give some thoughts ahead of the vote, but honestly my lack of BG knowledge is making me feel lost. I had the impression that the cylons were the bad guys as they are the second group of characters, but then someone was saying back that people might not know if they are a bad guy? So are the cylons not the mafia? So confused.

Anyway, going swim in a water fall now. Check in later.

This one none of my private communication was publicized, but basically I pseudo cleared the doctor and cop and united them with the tracker, whose softclaims I caught. I knew one guys meta well enough to give him a chance to kill me and frame somebody else, knowing that if he were scum he would take that opportunity, and I told somebody else about the plan so if I died it would come down on the original person. Turned out the two people were the cop and doctor respectively and it brought us all together and united us.

Nope, that was it. It was day one and my day one votes are usually based off of very little. Added to that, I haven't played with half of you before, and the other half it's been years and I have to relearn everyone's style. yes. all cylons need to die
This is why. So we have been given TONS of information that hints that not all cylons are bad. In fact, golden has damn near laid it out plain at this point. Ika's insistance that this is the case makes me think he's a bad cylon who wants to look good and is playing the "Oh, I didn't know that he could be cylon and be good, but look how hard I tried to kill a cylon so I've got to be a good guy!" card.

no cyclon is town, all cyclons are scum
Statistically, this is pretty much impossible. The first couple of days are usually townie lynches, and the night kills are almost always townie. AND cylons apparently can't be lynched with the rezz ship active? If all cylons were bad, given this, it would mean that with that many mafia, the town was almost garunteed a loss in the first few days. Golden has been playing and hosting for a long time. I can't see him making that many mafia off the batt and boobytrapping the game. Plus, as countless others have said including golden, the wincons were purposefully left out and the roles are not what they apear to be. I'm like 90% sure that not all cylons are mafia. (I don't know for sure whether or not Epi is, but your inistance that he must be a mafia because he's a cylon disturbs me.)

Agree to disagree. Not possible that all cylons are bad given the numbers ratio and that the rezz ship must be blowed up for them to lynch die. You're a mathamatics guy, can't you see that it's not statistically a well weighted game if all cylons re bad? PING

We know Epi cant die right now until the ship is down. IMO, whether or not all cylons are bad guys, it's better to search for a new one we don't know yet than to keep hitting him if he can't die and we dont learn anything new.

I feel like you are roleplaying BG rather than giving a realistic analysis of the grid-guessing-game. "Major tactical mistake"?? I don't know anything, and unless you DO know something, then what are you talking about, "tactical mistake"? The Rez Ship has an equal chance of being on any square, and the order we choose them matters not a bit.
Disgree. If the mafia know what square it's on, then they'll intentionally choose not that square and call it "random" ... where as if we have a plan you have to pick the next planned square and hit the ship.

I'll be perfectly honest. If it were daytime, I'd vote for ika right now. Behavior isn't towards moving forward in the game, and it's becoming quite hard to watch.

Did I miss this - why are some character names in red and some in green?

I am going to put this as lightly and anonymously as I can. If you know another player in real life and you talk about the game and info dump to each other, you should either keep what you know outside of your posts remove yourself from the game. Infodumping is bullshit and one of the quickest ways to ruin a game.

This is a Battlestar Galactica game on another site where cylons were the bad guys and humans were good.
Relevance to current game and current Host's possible intentions to design this game?
Because this game was heavily based on Battlestar Galactica lore like some are using here to say Epi is town. This is not this case. Cylons need to die in order for humans to win. I can't be more clear about this if I tried. Try reading some of it, and you might understand why I posted it.
Where does it say that on the front page?

Try reading what? We're not playing that game on MS, we're playing this one on Syndicate. Again, relevance?
THIS. In a past game on another site, I was a host. Does that mean I'm a host now? :confused2:

There are a number of people being very vocal that not all cylons are bad. Perhaps there is a good reason for that as well. I'm inclined to think that the people who have given reasons as to why not have very good reasons as opposed to Ika's "because I said so" or "because in another site they are" rant.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Night One

Because we are playing townies VS mafia! And the last 10 pages or so consist of you repeating 10000000000000000 times that cylons are scum (which apparently means to you not mafia just different win conditions). Ok! We get it! Even if they don't have the same win conditions, the whole point of the game is to sniff out mafia, not random win conditions, and we've all figured out that everyone in the game has different win conditions .... So unless we kill everyone because everyone has different win conditions, then can we PLEASE get on with sniffing out the MAFIA and not ten more pages of this?!

Just for anyone who missed the last ten pages: Ika thinks cylons are scum (people with different win conditions) and should die.
There. It's official. Now LETS MOVE ON.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Night One

Epi - I know I haven't been playing with them long, but I actually think that silver wolf is reacting the way she is out of her personal desire to protect Ika, not actual in game reasons. If I had to bet, it's Ika and not silver wolf who is mafia. In fact the more I see, the more sure I am that silver wolf has in the least a townie role. I think her personal feelings have just gotten the best of her and she's reacting based on that.

For what it's worth, I believe you to be for the townie cause, regardless of your cylon role.

I think Ika and LC have BTSC based on a few comments that have been made. My vote tomorrow will be for one of them. Most likely Ika because at this point I'm just tired of reading page after page of the same thing.

Interesting. I'd be interested in hearing what those few comments are, if you have the time and are so inclined.

I like where your head is at on the ika/SW thing too. It's almost reminiscent of Turf Wars, where that very thing was true. (ika baddie, SW civ) Though, it's hard for me to sift through all the (what I consider "crazy") to see actual things. If that makes any sense.
I might get too close to info dumping if I do that, and I would prefer not to. Just seems like LC and Ika are very on the same page in ways that I wouldn't expect. And LC has made some comments that the LC I used to know would have never, ever made as a civvie. (Granted, I haven't played with him in a while, but I still feel like it's a pretty huge deviation of his character.) It's also possible that LC is making leaps based on his role, and is not mafia, just so happens he's using Ika as his leap. This is something I could see LC doing. He's good at using someone's role against them. Asshat. :P I guess I'll just have to see how Ika pans out before I can decide for sure.

JJJ - To me, it's best to keep Epig in our back pockets until we know more about the win conditions and actually search for another possible mafia. If we lynch him tomorrow, it's doubtful he'd actually die which lets another mafia live another day and we've effectively given the mafia two night kills without us actually doing anything. (Although tonight's night kill might change some mind on that. It'll be interesting to see who they choose.) Like I said, I'm leaning towards Ika. My suspish are Ika, Lunar, LC, polo in that order for reasons previously stated.

G-Man. LOLLLLLLLLL. I'll poke you! Interested to see your thoughts. I used to be so good at reading you and this game I haven't even the slightest read on you.

Lunar, I'd like a reply to my earlier posts to you, please. :)

I'd like to hear more from Black Rock, SVS, Juliet, Zebra, LoRab, and nutella. Bak in the day I knew you guys to be very vocal. I feel haven't seen much from you guys. (Then again, with only a hand full of people dominating the thread, I guess it's going to make it seem like everyone else is quiet regardless of their actual contribution, especially when so much time is spent just trying to catch up on how many "no you!"s we have on each page.)

That's a very specific question for you to have just randomly asked it. If you're asking how I know her in this game, I don't. She hasn't posted much and what she has posted has been very random sounding. And I have no powers that would allow me to "know" her. So if you have reason to suspect a connection, I can assure you it wasn't from my end.

I think we should try either E1 or F6 just because those are in areas of dead space that a larger ship could easily fit. IMO, it would give us a better chance of hitting something large. (If it's small, then it doesn't really matter where we hit but those areas are still the most open.)

FWIW, I think it's odd that the mafia would take out Ika because Ika was probably getting lynched today. Why waste a kill like that? I hate to go all WIFOM but as a mafia, I'd never, ever night kill a player who was stirring the pot and everyone was threatening to lynch the next day. Makes me think either that wasn't the mafia, it wasn't planned that way, or they just really got sick of reading the back and forth. I suppose the last option is the most likely one, but still. Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day Two

Why does everyone keep linking me to Zebra?! Matt asked me if I knew Zebra out of the blue. I said I remember zebra from years ago when I played. Since then Matt has gone all obsessive about it and now others are chiming in... Is it not the same zebra from RM or piano? And if it's not, I'm still
Missing why you guys are so weirdly obsessed by it? It's been like three years since I've played and I didn't actually say anything about zebra other than answering Matt when he asked if I remember her. Why are y'all acting so damn weird?!

Somewhere back there asked me to link to the two examples I mentioned of LoRab and Nutella answering back to back after I mentioned them. I'm on my phone right now and I'm too lazy to do that on the phone but i will in the morning.

Also, I'm not afraid to say it, I'm pretty darn sure Epi is town. Cylon or not, I think he's town. I also think drum beats is. Probably Silber and JJJ are (although it had nothing to do with their opinions of me that I saw they posted, ironically, just so happens they have mentioned me today.) I think Lorab and Nutella have BTSC although that in itself doesn't make them bad if they do, always possible to have townie BTSC. I think a couple of people are bad but again, I'll wait a bit longer until I let that out of the bag officially. Although Matt's weird ass obsession with an off topic and unrelated to this game comment I made is kind of remembering past players from when I played at the other sites is kind of starting to freak me out. I also remember about half of these players and spent years in the mafia trenches with them. Don't know what that has to do with this game?!

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day Two

Fine - I can't link to all the posts because I'm not searching on my phone. So bear with me.

I think long con is bad. I've seen play from him this game that I would never have expected from the LC I used to know. He has seemed panicked multiple times and his whole jumping in thing felt like a save, with his "oh look how much of a funny asshole I am" as a save. Again, I'm not searching on my
Phone for posts to support this right now. He also hinted to wanting to try and lynch Epi again when I believe Epi to be town and we knew he'd just be resurrected anyway. And I know I'm an idiot for mentioning it because if there's one thing that man can do, it's turn a whole mob against someone who suspects him in two seconds flat with no evidence.

I think there's a possibility that Lorab and Nutella are bad, but again not a lot of evidence. Just felt like their comments were BTSCish.

I admit that Matt's weird thing pinged me, but what was weirder was that one or two people afterwards were like "yeah! What he said!" Felt very much like teammates trying to support his weird accusation (which I still don't get what he was actually trying to accuse me of?!) it might have been Juliet? Don't remember now and too lazy to search on this thing.

Already said why Polo, and added to that he's been trying to base suspicion using Goldens posts after golden said twice they were Jay's for story purposes.

I will never understand why so much stock is put in "playstyle." If you are that predictable and you are incapable of shaking things up, go play something else. Mafia is not for you.

RIGHT?!?! Seriously! It's weird seeing everyone say "well when x is townie he's always like this and when he's mafia he's always like this!" And it's not one person, beaucoup people have said it this game. If it's so easy to tell who is who then why don't we have a full complete list that everyone agrees on and why are we playing this game?! I enjoy the fact that many of these people are very hard to read because it makes it fun. Sure, you're bound to compare a little but this game has been full of experts. There's a gun pointed at your head. Would you lynch Long Con today?

If I had a gun at my head right now, I'd vote DFaraday. He's been lurking and has only posted 3 times in the thread. I know it's a vote with not much substance but my gut don't like it.

If I had to pick from the list I gave you, he's definitely top of it but more so for gut feeling than evidence in the thread. Although no one has to hold a gun to my head to make me vote. I will vote for someone willingly tomorrow with out that motivation requirement. Lol.
