@HOST Will the final five know if they are cylons after the game starts. Or will it be revealed to them later?

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day One
My understanding is anyone can be a final five unless there role card specifically states that they aren't.Ricochet wrote:@Beats
I don't see how it can veer towards a townslip. If the design is faithful to the show, the certain Cylons have no memory of who the Final Five Cylons are. So the question could come from:
-- town Sig having no clue if he's Final Five (not received in his role at the start of the game)
-- town Sig having no clue how the Final Five will be revealed, regardless of him turning up as such or not, or
-- Cylon Sig trying to find out how the Final Five will be revealed (or if they have already).
Does this make sense?
Also, I think this is the first time such a obligatory "salute" rule has been introduced in games here. You not following the rule still must be accounted for, because rules are rules.

I see where you're coming from here. However, I might disagree. In general I think something seen as a message which would be to help the civs. Would make the mafia less willing to solve it, or less energized to figure it out. Some might for the town credit, but I think it is unlikely. I could see giving very light civ leans for those who contributed a lot to it, but they shouldn't be above suspicion.Matt wrote:Zeebs! What're you thinkin' so far?
Because I live in opposite land, I'm suspicious of Scotty for solving the puzzle. Derp.

This could be true, but I doubt it.Matt wrote:Oh wow, I forgot to include that I think it's possible that if Scotty is bad, then he obviously had help from his teamies, and they chose Scotty as the "Great Puzzle Solver Guy" spokesperson. That's why I'd like to know if anyone else has previous knowledge of Scotty being good at stuff like this.

So some real content time.
I liked Polo's and Drum's early game actions light civ reads there.
I'm also feeling good about Zebra and LC.
I could see Rico and Ika as teammates if one flips mafia, but neither seems super scummy.
I don't recall much from Silver yet this game which is pingy.
Finally I saw Glorfindel reading the thread yet he didn't post? I don't like that at all.

More on the Rico/Ika thing if either or both are civs they should tone it down a bit, they've been going at it for awhie. However, this reminds me of MP vs Ika in the Scrimmage.
Matt why do you think LC is bad?

I never talk to my wife when we play mafia, maybe all you couples should try that. :P
Okay expect a few posts from me unless I wander off and forget to do them. Right now I really don't have any scum reads. So some quick fire notes first then a few quoted posts. Gotta get my post count up.
Glorfindel is a slight ping, but he is always a slight ping. I'd like to see some real in game content he is dropping in and posting, but not posting much content. Besides his civ read of zebra which he does every game. :P
The Rico/Ika thing is confusing they both seem scummy then they do something civviish and I'm not sure again.
IWAY is absence I'd like to see more from him.
I don't see an issue with Gman's list of notes? Didn't he say they were just notes and not reads?
The Epi being so chill about MM voting for him seems a little weird.
WHy does Polo have a vote.
linki: @SW as my grandfather used to say "I'll suffer alright, but don't expect me to suffer silently!" :P
Also why am I a town lean?

Why is Lorab and Vompatti on your scum list?DrumBeats wrote:Ok, so after catching up, I'll do a basic 3/3 list as well for information's sake.
Good:
JJJ
ika
G-Man
Toastery:
Rico
Vompatti
LoRab
FoS: Ricochet
Richochet has been arguably the most vocal player this game, but looking back, Ricochet has provided nothing with his/her many posts. The only thing Rico did was attempt to discredit basically every other post. This is a very proscum approach because its sole purpose is to reduce town information. Rico has not provided a single town/toaster read iirc. In all of those posts, there is no reason to have no reads at all imo. I don't know meta, so I can't judge based on that, but nothing about this behavior strikes me as protown.
We're only about halfway (?) through the day though, so I'll hold my vote for now until later. Currently, my vote would rest with my FoS unless there is a convincing argument for somebody else later in the day.
Why is Gman on your civ list?
Though you do bring up some good points on Rico.

Drumbeats and JJJ are also townreads.
Ricochet is a scumread and I'm not feeling great about SVS either. Her lack of contribution to the game, despite posting, makes me suspect her.
I'm not sure how I feel about Nero's reads. I'll need to see more from him and then decide. His read of SVS seems weird but it appears to be a gut read. His read for IWAY seems like a no u though.S~V~S wrote:It's Mothers Day weekend and my Dads birthdayNerolunar wrote:I realized that the thread was open the moment I was about to leave to visit my grandpa. Quick observations: I've got a town read on Sikverwolf and - and I completely acknowledge that I'm being a hypocrite in thinking this, btw - a slight scum read on Nerolunar. He popped in and out in the same manor I did/am doing, but I have conformation bias on my side to know why I couldn't be here. Was at a family gathering of sorts all day. He just basically said "I can't be here, here's my post, see ya later". It feels like making an excuse not to post, which isn't good for a multitude of reasons and at best is anti-town. I'm also probably overthinking this too haha.
Normally, because I'm used to it culturally, I'd vote him to get him to talk, but I can't do that here because votes, once cast, are permanent (if I read correctly), so I'm gonna put a big FoS on Nero and hopefully he'll say or will have said more stuff.
Ithink you are infuriating Rico becasue he is cornered, tbh. And don't vote me let me at least get started.Silverwolf wrote:OK, I don't know why I am infuriating Rico. That seems a bit much really. However, his rebuttal to me looks like genuine frustration so when I go through ISO's and try to get a few reads, I may have to reconsider my scumread on him. I may vote SVS today instead. We'll see.
Townreads so far:
Indiglo - looks just like Turf Wars
Drumbeats - Seems really transparent and genuine
Ika - Looks like usual Ika.
Scumreads:
Epignosis - Is usually more vocal iirc.
Inawordyes - see above
SVS - something is off, and I don´t know what.
Well, Im much more confident about my townreads than my scumreads. Lots of players Im not used to play with.
I have a few hours to catchup and vote, I have to go to the cemetary & then we're taking my Stepmother & Dad out.
Unless a lot has changed since yesterday, theperson who has most stood out to me is Rico. He kept pounding that business about forgetting "So Say We All", then when I pokedhimback, he was like "just a joke". But it looked more to me like keeping busy. i tried to read Matt & Ricos back/forth last night but Matts casesarealways Byzantine, and I had had a few drinks.

I remember bringing up that you used lots of smiles one game, which is very ironic in hindsight.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day One
Wait a minute I'm a TS regular and constantlysometimes read both Epi and LC right.
Just like Turf Wars were I knew Epi was bad (lets not discus anything else I did that game unless I'm using it to defend myself) :P
And I was right about LC like three times when he was mafia so far.
I don't like that post from you JJJ I don't like it at all.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day One
It seems like your point is we should listen to SW/Ika on Epi since other newer members have been right about their alignment right?
I'd rather we not lynch Epi today, it would be better to lynch someone else imo. However, I won't actively fight agaisnt an Epi lynch.

Defending Epi which I'm really not doing isn't the same as fighting agaisnt the lynch imo.ika wrote:Techacly your defending it right now....sig wrote:It seems like your point is we should listen to SW/Ika on Epi since other newer members have been right about their alignment right?

Re: Battlestar Galactica Mafia - Day One
I don't think Epi is mafia and yes it is just day 1, but I'd rather not lynch Epi on day 1 when one of the three votes on him is a total joke vote (MM's) I'm considering a few people. I've got a slight ping of LC and DF so could vote there. I really disliked Zebra's BR vote, I might also look back over the RIco thing and see what I see.indiglo wrote:sig wrote:It seems like your point is we should listen to SW/Ika on Epi since other newer members have been right about their alignment right?

Why would you prefer to lynch someone else today?
Also, any other good candidates?
Linki~
If we don't see content from Glorfindel and IWAY soon I'd like to put some pressure on them and maybe lynch them to.

Maybe you're a teammate of Epi setting up MM to be lynched tomorrow.

@Silver if you ever have anymore kids or like a dog nah actually get a cat, cats are better. Name it Sigurd best name on the planet.
linki: Nevermind then IWAY. I hope we can play another game sometime soon.
linki2: Yeah he might, however this is all null in my mind since I don't think Epi is mafia.

I promise to start getting up to speed and play properly beginning tomorrow.
Daisy the vote has to be in dead red for it to count.

@Epi I think defensive tunneling is like OMGUS?
linki: He has been pinging me on a gut level, and last time I had a bad gut read off him he turned out to be mafia. I know it isn't much, but I don't like any of the wagons, but I'm also not reading any of the people on them high enough to vote and save them either, and I don't really have any solid reads right now.
So I think going the gut avenue is the best.
oooo I just got so confused by what I read, thanks for clearing it up Golden.
