So, two weeks ago, Mom aka Roxy, fell on a broken step at her apartment and fractured her face in two places, and fractured her skull. Nothing needed surgery but she got really banged up and hurt. If any of you know her on a personal level I'm sure it would cheer her up to hear from some old pals.

I've only played a two maybe 3 games with you in the past but you seemed to hold a lot of sway with people during those games. What's scares me is someone who holds that kind of sway and gets this power ends up being bad. Sorry for putting on my tin foil hat so fast, but this Is mafia.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:It sounds fun. Hey, if you are town then I have no problem with you getting the power, but your word isn't good enough to make me think you are town at this point in the game. I voted two people who I have a hard time reading in games hoping this power makes it a little easier for me.JaggedJimmyJay wrote:I am considering however the potential that the paranoia about giving me more power is either rooted in or supported by people who don't want that power in my town hands.

I think we should vote people who we believe to be mafia to duel. I think maybe later in the game if a civ wants to volunteer then that's their choice but early game I believe we run the risks of losing civs that could help us later in the game.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 1]
Let me get this straight, you believe that a mafia player would suggest that we should vote for two mafia in the duel polls and a civ player is more likely to suggest we take a risk?JaggedJimmyJay wrote:Assertion: townies are more likely to think outside the box when it comes to game mechanics, and it sometimes gets them into trouble. I think Boomslang is the example here -- when presented with this unique dueling mechanic, he thought outside the box the same way I did and arrived upon an idea that has a theoretical application even if it might not be the most practical. I might also include Golden in this, because his idea was to pit UTR players against each other instead of merely suspect against suspect. I don't quite agree with that method, but I don't fault him for proposing it.
Baddies however love these moments, because it gives them an easy opportunity to jump into a discussion and bring the more "logical" perspective -- in this case: "shouldn't we just have suspects duel each other?" This is to say that I am more suspicious of the players who have responded to Boomslang with incredulity (Turnip Head and Dunny) than I am of Boomslang himself. Sorsha can also apply, though she was less critical and more personal in her delivery.
The unique idea tends to come from the townie.
The critical response and recommendation that simpler methods be employed are more likely to come from the baddie.

I don't know if this has been said, but I don't think voting people who haven't checked in yet is a good idea. Think about it, if they win they get a treasure or prize or whatever you want to call it. If they aren't active UT doesn't benefit the town at all. We gain no info from actions or whatever happens with these treasures. For that reason I can't get on board with that kind of vote.

OK I won't be around much before the end if the poll so I'm going to go ahead and vote.
My first vote will be for Scotty because most of his post have seemed like filler to me then and that of substance besides him trying to be prefect . Then his votes seems like throw away votes to me.
My second vote will be for MM because he has been active and not really added anything to the thread beside enough to look active. That seems like flying under the radar to me.

This person suspects me to be bad, realizes that I tend to be difficult to lynch without behind-the-scenes influence, and tried to use his/her role power to motivate other people toward making that happen instead of compiling a case (which might genuinely be less effective for that objective).

MM even voted to push Russ into clear 2nd spot, which would be pretty defeatist.

A better grasp on your voting tactic from the previous Day, given that you've went for top wagon (MM) and zero wagon (yourself).
Some thoughts on who to consider for nomination toDay, based on the vote evolution (see my chart on previous page, if it helps) or any other criteria you might consider.
How's Roxy doing?
OK so I voted MM day one because I felt like he was just joking around the whole phase, and I've seen mafia hide behind that in games before and felt like it was a good place to start . When day two rolled around JJJ made a solid case which help confirm my suspicions of him . If I was able to vote early that day, I would have been among the first players to vote MM.
As for my self vote vote I didn't have time to catch up all the way because the site was acting funny and I didn't have any idea where I wanted to put my second vote so I voted myself.

Talking in this game seems dangerous. Also if they are killing high posters and people who look like they are these civ leaders then why would they leave Quin alive ?
