Ah, MP, always wanting to talk mechanics :P I can see where you're coming from; if we were able to identify a strong dueling civ, we could put him or her up against the suspect for a better chance at a death. However, and this is important, the rules for warriors say "most likely to win in a duel." It's not a guarantee, it would seem. On the negative side, that strategy would identify good NK targets for the baddies. And if we try to get two baddies in a duel and succeed, one of them is destined for death :feb:

However, the civs have many more warriors than the baddies. So picking one from each list (suspected civs and suspected baddies) for each night might actually be a good call.

I'd be wary of people volunteering to duel tbh, they could be particularly tough/confident baddies looking for an easy ride and hoping for a nice reward.

Otherwise though, I don't think any opinion on whether to pit civ v baddie or baddie v baddie makes someone more likely to be good or bad. I think people who are naturally more careful will want to have a guarantee of a baddie dying and feel more comfortable putting two people they suspect up for a duel. People who are happier taking risks will want to do riskier things.

Dom as well my gut is reading scum, I think he is being scummy with his posting style, and I think he is getting a free pass by some players for the way he is posting. It is in little clips so he appears active, but content wise he isn't giving us much at all. I feel like he is attempting to fly under the radar, yet not be accused of being inactive.
MM for the reasons laid out by JJJ, I'd rather not lynch MM today though.
Jan slightly for his most recent post wondering why I wasn't active. This is also a minor ping though.
TH for his thoughts on Scotty.

Matty seems civvie so far.

Bubbles' votes seemed random, but not unusual for Bubbles. :shrug2:
DF, a few questions:

1) In what way would you assert that Dom is hiding behind a posting gimmick?
I think gimmick posters offer themselves a built in defense when it comes to inconsistent behavior or doing things not easily explained. If they frequently do gimmicks, people will come to their defense and say it's just how they always are. If it's unusual for them, as with Dom, I think they hope they can skate by for longer with people remembering the gimmick more than their content. In this case the gimmick seems to be drawing suspicion though.
2) Do you agree or disagree that Dom's posting gimmick is attracting potentially negative attention that he would not have had to deal with otherwise?
I think to a degree it is attracting attention, because his gimmick seems to be causing him to strongly assert his opinions.
3) What points made against him has Dom not addressed, specifically?
He hadn't really established why a less vocal Bass would be bad, nor why he now thinks Bass is good, and didn't address the notion that he could be setting up an excuse to vote Bass later on. He also didn't explain his votes for JJJ and Scotty, beyond saying they're bad.
Here he is, folks. Lying about my record once more. Not only that, but he's using the "gimmick against me and for me. HE is saying that I am, folks, hiding behind a gimmick-- but also suspects me for "using it". Can't have it both ways ! Also-- to the haters, This is real, this is me. He doesn't really mention JJJ as far as I can tell.

Dom and Bubbles are my top priorities today. I will most likely be voting there.
Lyin' Scotty is teaming up with Tricky Jay in an alliance to take me down!

Why would I vote bass? Right now-- I think Bass is a good guy. That could change. I have explained why in the past. You can look it up-- plenty have written about it.

Crooked DFaraday is absolutley misunconstruing my point on bass !
Look, people, if bass is good, he'll keep his word to be more active. If he's a no-good guy, then he's gonna slip in the shadows until he attacks one of us. Could be anywhere .

However, good luck getting even 5 people in here in that time. Half the population is a no-show.

While JJJ has talks about this, and I tend to not want to go there, I think there may be validity to the no-shows being a reason at least one of the teams didn't kill last night :shrug2:

If that's the case, I never want to hear about my Day 1 brigade against non-participants.

On my side, I believe you could very well be experimenting with a new playing angle, after a series of games in which you were either bad all the time or in which you weren't, but wasn't exactly trusted given your baddie legacy and usual style (*raises hand*). This "experimentation" could be happening to simply refresh your style a bit, regardless of alignment, but points 1) and 2) still make me lean on spotting baddie traits from you. Plus, if you're bad, you've obviously done a good enough job to create some "oh, he wouldn't do this if bad" impressions.
Okay folks, let's break this down.
Let's present two options either I'm bad (ha!) or I'm civ. (waits for applause)

I don't think in a single game I played this year, I was civvie other than this one. I can't remember one. I mgiht have, but the vast, vast majority of games, I was bad. In fact, I faced some joke supsicion over this in my last few games, especially given my inspiring performance in each of those games-- either winning or coming close to winning each time. Now, it is true, I am the greatest mafia player of all time. Yes. Yes, folks, it's true. BUT in this game, I am a civilian. No matter what I did this game, this criticism would be here unless I played no differently than usual-- in which case, I'd get the "Dom is always bad" rap.

So, this is a lazy, low energy argument and I expect better out of you, Rico.
Ricochet wrote: I have no way to explain this properly in English, but there's a wretched garbage musical genre in our country called "manele / mynele" in which 70% of the lyrics are "death to my haters and enemies", and, to simply paraphrase, I think a lot of your posts are just that, either in a total bantz way, either with rebuttal intent that comes off, however, as NO U'y or evasive.
My brand is synonymous with success, okay? Ask anyone-- anyone will tell you. There's no manele needed here. I, simply put, am the best.

I have launched an attack on DFaraday and Nutella. I have defended others, or expressed disinterest in their votes. I don't know what you want from me. You seem (like nutella) more annoyed with how I am playing than having any actual points that make me bad because of how I am playing. This makes me think nutella is bad for a multitude of reasons-- one of which is that, she, ya know, tends to be bad, in my experience, when she calls me annoying. Rather than quantify her suspicion against me, she labels it as "annoying" and looks to get me out. It's rather easy and no one really pays attention to it ! Surprises me, folks.

DFaraday has repeatedly lied about what I have said. He has totally changed the narrative about my words on Bass. Civ DFaraday wouldn't do that. Bad DFaraday looking to place a vote on an easy target absolutely would.

I have explained these suspicions ad naseaum. For any of you to try and imply that my personality is keeping me from expressing valid suspicions is just... it's not just not right. Believe me, civvies love me more than anyone else, and if you're trying to just undermine that because you are jealous or maybe-- i don't know-- maybe you have got something else going on-- i don't know-- plenty of people have written that, maybe. I don't know.

I am civillian and the lazy, tired, low energy, and bad bad arguments have got to stop against me. This is sad.

No-U's are when you suspect someone purely for suspecting you. I suspect DFaraday because he clearly didn't read the thread very closely, saw an easy vote, and made it. I'm really feeling good about Dom this game.
As Ricochet has already pointed out, S-V-S herself stated in the first of her only two posts this game:
