Hi. I'm skimming the game, and I've realized it will probably take the rest of the game before I catch up. But I will try :noble:

Its going to take me a couple days irl to feel fully immersed in the game, trying to read back takes up so much of the catch-up time. Could you post a link to what you are referring to, or is it just an overall posting thing?

I am nowhere close to catching up, but am keeping up with current posting. It sounds as though it is important to Bass to prove a point, so I'm going there. At first I had the impression that he was pursuing Quin, but he now seems ok with DDL, and I want to see where this leads. Bass and DDL

I'll put my other vote on INH.
trying to read so much in a short time causes everything to get a bit jumbled in my mind, but I had decided to put one of my votes on Russ. I'm wondering why he disappeared, after winning duels against people from both bad teams. That is not proof of badness, of course, but I have questions where he is concerned. Other than that, I'm not sure who I'm voting, maybe Scotty or Mac. I still have time to reread them before tonight.

I voted Russ and chose blindly between the silent players and went with Jan. I reread some of Scotty and Mac but I'm not feeling very decisive tonight. I'd rather put a vote on 2 players who are participating, it doesn't seem like much could be learned from non-participants, but again, I'm too wishy-washy tonight.

First thing I jumped to was the possibility that we're voting to ressurect. I'd say I trust Rico the most for that purpose. 3J would be an asset, but there's the possibility that he's MP's teammate. I don't have strong reads on most of them though.
There is a YT who can raise apparitions. Possibly has nothing to do with a role, but I wonder what raising apparitions means, if not some kind of rezz.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 8]

Scotty wrote:Well well well. We can talk at night. Splendid.

At this point I think we all have to make a definitive read on Bass, since he is the new duel master. If he is bad, we need to keep sending him to the arena. If he is good, why the hell are we still voting him? I know he's asking for it. Maybe he has enough treasures to give him that advantage he needs. And maybe he is on the blue team and the blue leader is still alive, thus giving him a +1 base.

Why was Russ voted for today?

I think Dom is a cheeky thread teller guy.

Why is Sloonei proud to admit he hasn't read the first 2 days? That's like going vegan but cheating every now and then on cookies because 'if I didn't read the nutrition information it must still be vegan". Infusing life into a thread is good...unless you're bad and just leading it into a pit.

If I was around yesterday ( :suspish: ) then I probably would have voted Nutella and INH. Continuation vote and all that. I'm not making much of a case on them, so I understand why no one would follow suit, but I see INH had a little traction yesterday, which is nice. I think he could be a little dirtier. I think Nutella is plenty dirty. Her voting and voice of suspicions are meh.

Golden, I still haven't responded to your post, and honestly the way my weeks have been shaping up I'm just not going to get to it. My thoughts have been very much disconnected from this game over the past few cycles, to the point where I feel like I'm swimming in a whirlpool of suspicion.

and I still suspect you as well, Golden. For reasons previously stated, even though people like DF have said it wasn't logical. Maybe. Again, I'm not gonna lie that I've slipped off the deep end in the game as I work. The only thing suffering here is my case building. So meh. I'm liking Quin's gall with people accusing him.

Mata, why would you consider voting me at all? And why Jan, of the inactives?
My reason for considering voting you was weak, more or less because of you being silenced twice. It caught my attention, but I was only considering it. Now that I have reread you I think double silencing may have been because you are a gabber (your words) :p

My reasons for voting Jan was pretty much what I said in my post. I just chose between the people who are not posting at all, any one of them would have sufficed.

As far as this poll is going, I'm up in the air here. Someone (forgot who) posted something about the Chinese wanting their dead to stay dead, so the YT who can raise apparitions might factor in here. There is also the indy who can rezz 3 people, but they have to be warriors, I think. So I don't believe this poll has anything to do with that role, because we are choosing and it might be someone who is not a warrior. A role reveal, or a dead apparition, who gets to actively play and vote, would be my guess. <I was in a game with that feature once.

I will probably vote for one of the trusted ppl and hope for the best.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 8]

I do have a question about Reywas. He was killed by YT pretty quickly after replacing in. He replaced BWT, who I understand had been slightly suspected earlier in the game. I reread BWT and the only thing I saw suspicious was that he defended MP who was revealed as YT. If BWT was defending a teammate, why would the same team kill him off as soon as he is replaced?

Did the people who suspected BWT as being bad want to re-explain why they suspected him? Before night is over, I mean, because Reywas is in that list above, and I'm thinking it sucks to agree to sub in a game and then get killed right away. Also, if this is a role reveal, I'd like to know who that role is.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 8]

I'm seriously debating voting Sorsha. She is the only one on this list who dueled and won, and was later night-killed. I may be looking at this wrong, but it seems more likely that she is town and while that may not be helpful in the event of a role reveal, it would be safer in the event of a rezz. Or maybe not? Anyone want to comment on whether I'm thinking clearly here?

I think that (at least right now) information would be better than a rezz, so I'd suggest voting somewhere that would help us in terms of giving us that. Checking Sorsha might bring an end to the whole recruitment conversation from a few days ago, so he's not a bad option by any means.
I'd really like to choose Rey if I thought this was a role reveal. I'd feel safest about Sorsha if I thought it was a straight up rezz (not a recruitment rezz), and I guess a vote for either of them is not going to matter this late in the day. I have no opinion on the others on the list, and no opinion on their voters either. So, Sorsha it is.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 9]

I'm not sure if you think me being inactive was purposeful strategy or what. Frankly, I'd never be intentionally inactive in any game. I just don't see the point of that.
This is a quote on day 4 from the prefect who must not be named. The silence on his part is hard to interpret in light of this quote. Is he powered up by mention of his name, or was that just storytelling by the host? Is his silence a ploy to get people to mention him, in spite of denying he would do that? Is he just inactive? I'm not feeling very good where he is concerned, but its possible I'm overlooking something.

In this game, volunteering to be voted isn't necessarily a bad thing. There are some incentives to dueling, but I take it that you won't be volunteering, since you find it suspicious. Given the mechanics of the game, I don't see it as cut and dried as you see it. I'll reread your posts on it to see the reasons you elaborated on.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 9]

Pretty sure I'm going to vote for INH and Nijuu....something or other. I already posted about INH, and his strange vow before disappearing, but Nijuu because he only has one post all game with any substance, and he also voted for Russ because "the people posting said Russ wanted to be voted." Russ corrected him and pointed out that he never said that, and Nijuu had not bothered to quote anyone who had. Nijuu was around for awhile afterwards, and had time to go back and find the posts that made him think Russ wanted voting, but he didn't.

Although Elo followed up with almost the same type post that Nijuu did, it seemed to me she was just rushing. Maybe not tho, we'll see.

Thanks, I should have remembered that as I had played with her a few times before I took a breather. I'm of mixed opinions about voting inactives, because its just as likely they have a lone civ role and don't feel compelled to be active. But wth, I have to vote someone, might as well be the inactives today, and see what it turns up. I'll concentrate on actives tomorrow.

The nanman have killed 6 out of 9 nights, the YT's 3 out of 9. Both teams can kill each night, so something else must be factoring in. One of the indys will inherit the YT kill, and I think its too much to hope for that all are dead already. I think I'm going to go with the theory that we have some inactive mafia. I could see voting for at least one inactive today, if not 2.

I mean you do a bring up a good point against you:

The YT haven't killed since night 6. That was basically 4 days ago (and 12 RL days). You haven't posted since Day 6.

So...you'll be getting a vote from me today, since you seem eager to do so. It also just makes sense to me that you would be on a baddie team with your husband. :kadaj:

My other vote is going to...Sloonei. Not Nutella :omg:
This is a good point. It could be a convenient coincidence, but there is a possibility that Daisy is the only surviving YT, and due to busy rl hasn't been able to play, and is throwing her hat in the ring so that the kill can be passed down to the indy who inherits the yt kill. I have thought the YT kills were odd choices, some of them were kills of inactive players, which seems like a very weird thing to be doing. I'll go with Daisy too, but not sure about my other choice yet.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 11]

Hi Indi, welcome. I replaced in too, and I'm a bit more comfortable now, but still find myself researching posts constantly. Good luck to you.

I have found four players who did not seem eager to vote inactives. Quin, Sig (sorry Indi), Golden, and Lorab (in sideways fashion? Lorab suspected Glorf, I think, for mentioning inactives a lot, as though he was trying to point suspicion their way, but she also pointed out that he only mentioned voting them once, and she found this suspicious for some reason).

On the one hand, this is suspicious because we have turned up 2 bad inactives now, but on the other hand, there is more btsc than just bad teams. I also have a theory that Epignosis is not replacing the mafia inactives. I could be wrong there, of course, but I'm kind of stuck on that.

I'm a bit curious about Dunny. He beat INH who was a nanman warrior. The yt team has no warriors left, if my notes are right, and the nanman team has one warrior left. So, for Dunny to be bad, he would have had to be on the same team as INH, right? That's possible, I suppose. I forgot to check whether the indys have a warrior.

There appears to be 1 indy Warrior:

Lu Bu
Warrior
A most fearsome warrior, and rider of Red Hare.
By the third Night, Lu Bu must decide what faction he will fight for and achieve victory with. *Secrets*
Victory condition: Win with his aligned faction and survive.

So, if he's alive, I imagine he's no longer indy. No way of knowing which faction he'd side with.

Also, there is this indy:

Dong Zhuo
Leader
This notorious warlord has an entourage of bodyguards, protecting him always from assassination.
Cannot be Night killed. Inherits the Yellow Turban kill.
Victory condition: Last Man Standing.

I don't know if that description would make him hard to kill in a duel, or just simply refers to the fact that he can't be NKed. Interesting is that he inherits the Yellows kill. So... either there are inactive Yellows left, or he is also dead. But, wouldn't you all know if he were killed? Because duel losers are revealed, yes?
Yes, they are. If you click on Epig's in topic posts, I found that to be the quickest way to make a list of all the lynch results.

The thing is, there are secrets that may impact certain things, but I have to go by the first page since I don't know what the secrets are. The warrior class is more likely to win in a duel. So bear with me while I try to sort my thinking on Dunny, and perhaps explain myself better.

Dunny dueled INH, INH lost the duel. He was a Nanman warrior. If Dunny won, then I'm going to assume he was also a warrior, and they had the same odds of winning. If Dunny was a warrior, he would be a civ warrior, or he would be Jinhuan Sanjie, a warrior teammate of INH, or Lu Bu, alignment unknown. In the discussion about voting Dunny again, I'm thinking he has 2 shots at being a mafia warrior, and more chances of being a civ warrior. So- I'm not sure whether I want to vote him again. I don't know, maybe someone has good reasoning for selecting Dunny, and I will appreciate any input on decisions for dueling.

As far as looking back to see who was against the idea of voting inactives, it was mainly wasted time. I hoped something would be glaring at me, but no one was harshly against it. And even if anyone had been, it doesn't make them bad, because inactives can be civs. At this point, I'm going to try reading up on some of the mid-actives and see if anything catches my attention.

Impressive work Indiglo, you are very fast at this. My time away from mafia has made me entirely too trusting.

Your case tying Lorab and Nutella as possible flip sides of MM's coin was good. I read their polite disagreement as just that, and totally forgot that disagreements can be staged. And that voting for your own teammate is sometimes done by mafia, so I could go with a Lorab/Nutella vote. I also think its funny how Nijuu shows up to vote and respond to being mentioned, but not much else. I have been a bit suspicious of Boomslang, for not really contributing much either, but I'm also aware that I used to always suspect him, so I tend to doubt my reactions there.

There have been suspicions of Scotty (from Golden), of Sloonei, Mac, and Quin, but I will study on them later. Today I'll try to decide who, of Nutella, Nijuu, or Boom, to vote with Lorab, and be back in awhile to vote.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 13]

Ok, I'm following the prevailing train of thought today, will go with Mac and Bullzeye. I still think Nijuu might be up to no good, but I think that of a few people, so there's that.

Oh wise spirit, the clever fish had won 2 previous duels (with warriors) with relative ease, in the first bout, I might add. I was relying on the same thing happening between him and Mac. B_T_C is a Good bet in a duel, based on what has already happened.
Your perspective is understood, striding one. Be wary though, for now we are few. Our villages are reduced to a barren state, only a small number of brave men remain to stand against those who would destroy us. To endanger them further when there is another way would be unwise.

Fortune has favored the clever fish so far, but fortune may turn without warning if it is tested. Let us pit our enemies against each other. MacDougall does not know what it is to be at peace, and we must show him. He of the house leetic looks to possess a wardrobe of much yellow. The clever fish is not suspicious to this spirit. I would hear your protestations, children, if you would have them.

The confused little girl is of a noble upbringing. We will trust in her insight, though always understanding her imperfections. This is our way.
Why does Leetic appear yellow to you? I saw where he posted twice, and that he voted INH and Caps for prefect. I am not seeing the yellow connection.

As for my other vote, I feel like a lot of my suspects are still in the poll. Blooper, Simon, Bass... Mac's desperation and rapid posting read as genuine to me; I can't see a baddie drawing all that attention to himself, especially in a game where inactives have gotten to coast so easily. Which leads me to question indiglo for continuing to jump down his throat. Will do some reading of that tomorrow.
Look at this intelligent man.
Mac, at this point in the game, do you have any suspicions you want to mention? I've reread you, but you haven't said anything lately about whether anyone/thing is pinging you. I'd like to hear your thoughts about others before I vote, if you have time, thanks.

Not sure if we are being led to victory or led astray, but I have no intuitive leads of my own to follow, so Mac and Leetic will do.

indiglo wrote:I still see Bass as a viable candidate if we can't come up with anything better. In my notes I have him down as either Yuan Shao (the Indy that recruits) or Dong Zhuo (the Indy that inherits the Yellow's NK).

My only other pool from which to draw is there in my list. I guess anyone from light green down could be tricksy and just playing it as a civ. That's why if we really can't suss anyone out, I'd prefer to go with Bass as leetic's dueling partner.

I kind of thought the push back from Boom and Ninja/Blooper on the Mac vote yesterday was odd. I'm not sure if it means anything besides not paying attention or what though.
I could see pairing Leetic with Bass, or I could just as easiy go with Boomslang or Nijuu. The whole thing of showing up in time to vote (or posting mainly when someone mentions you) makes me a little suspicious. At the least, it suggests that a person wants to be sure to turn in their night action. Although, I don't see evidence of many night actions, so... I could be barking up the wrong tree.

Re: Romance of the Three Kingdoms [Day 15]

I'm not sure I can help with anything Indiglo, I am trying to go on general feelings about what I expect from a civ, or what I expect from a mafioso. Its been a long time since I played, and as people gradually change their styles, I have no gut feelings about particular people based on their styles. I also started late in the game, and for me, being present at the start of a game is crucial. Rereading is like cramming, essentially, I have lost any gut feelings I get about players to compare to later in the game. I also don't know many of the people playing. So, I will give you what little impression I have, for what its worth.

I kind of feel like Bass is civ, or an indy who is no threat to civs. Or- he could be the indy who inherits the YT kill, but I'm not sure he would have been so blase about dueling if that were the case. So, pretty sure he's ok.

Nijuu does something I have done as mafia, so I may be projecting here. Showing up only when someone posts or votes you, shows that you are following, but staying UTR. Posting when its close to voting time also suggests that you may be busy, but make time to vote and send in your night action, killing 2 birds w/1 stone. But, would an experienced player actually do that? Its like the kind of thing I used to do years ago. So I'm not sure about her.

Boomslang is just a mystery, too quiet for comfort. He, and Nijuu, are not really doing any scum-hunting, and that makes me a bit suspicious too.

DF is very non-committal, staying in a safe zone. This kind of play on his part in the past would have had my radar out, but I've been gone so long that I don't trust my radar yet.

I will vote whoever the remainder decides is best, because as someone else said, the numbers are dwindling here, and now is not the time for mistakes.

I'm probably going to go with the majority

I can't think of a better reason to go with anyone else, so why not? I'll wait awhile though, before voting Leetic and Nijuu.

Zuo Ci wrote:I have examined each name remaining in our story. I have instructed a student to hold a knife to my throat and to demand that I speak with total truth my feelings about whether each may be our lone murderer. I will share with you those feelings which I expressed under threat of death:

The clever fish: not anywhere in this world.
The one called Boomslang: it is possible.
The one called DFaraday: it is possible.
The bearer of jars: my trust holds sway.
The striding one: not anywhere in this world.
The one called Matahari: it warrants consideration.
The ninja warrior: I have pledged to support the will of the bearer of jars.
The confused little girl: my trust holds sway.
The child of wise Epignosis: may we pray not, for his destruction would be the most difficult of trials.

It would seem that at the deepest depths of my soul, my attentions are focused upon the ones called Boomslang, DFaraday, Matahari, and the child of wise Epignosis. Of those, the one called Boomslang alarms me most.
I'll point out that Scotty seemed to trust Simon, so that should be taken into consideration.

What would be the chances of getting a 24 hour day, if we all got our discussion and votes in before tonight?
