Made wrote: Thu Aug 03, 2017 12:47 pm You know, I've never actually had a martini! Thanks bloops <3

So I just had a metagame-y idea: Since info dumping and claiming are allowed, if we all use a "password" derived from our role name and posted them in thread early, a false role claim from mafia would be immediately be apparent.

Thoughts?
I hate the idea because the strategy seems cheap, and I don't think Mafia will have to worry about a small claim space. As we get to the late game, tactics like this become more important, but I always hate trying to break the game day 1.
That said, I won't fault anyone for doing it and I'll probably participate myself.

As you can probably tell from my... inventive curses last game, I'm more concerned with having fun than winning. Massclaims are anti-fun. And also, yknow, fakeclaims. If I was the mod, I'd give them.

@Rico So now we've had the gimmick, the quotes, and the OMGUS. :disappoint:
Epi seems like the kind of guy who would give solid fake claims too, so I'm pretty sure mafia will be covered. I'm most suspicious of Made but in the spirit of fun I'm not lynching the same guy day 1 twice in a row. I'm good on Wilgy for now (literally picked you randomly off the list). I don't want to vote for Rico but I'd be fine with a lynch there. I won't lynch Speed or Dom. So that leaves me with a few options.

Are you bad? Did you get a role pm with an added fake claim? I cannot imagine epi would do this. I would think he'd leave it up to the creativity of the individual, scum or civ, to make up a fake claim to use. But...with you saying this, I'm thinking maybe he did give the baddies fake claims and you know this because you're one of them. Problem is...I don't have time to mull this over. I have to vote soon. Anyone here want to talk about this before I have to leave?
Fake claims have been a given in most of the games I've played like this and I would see Epi as following this. Maybe I'm wrong, and I'll leave you guys who know better to determine that.

Nice random voting
Random based on PoE?
Something smells scummy

Theres too many words
For this to be RVS
Why not Speed or Dom?

Your reasons against
Voting for some of the crew
Are not transparent.

But you'll RVS?
I understand it's day one
But your not balanced.

If you have reasons
To not vote some of us here,
You can not avoid

Having some reasons
To vote us for being scum.
Where is your reason?
I don't know what RVS is. I forgot what PoE is. I don't want to vote for Rico because I still think like if he's Maf he'll straighten up and try. I won't vote for Dom because I liked his posts and they seem like what I know to be townie Dom. I won't vote for Speed because he's taking logical positions and hasn't said anything that would make me doubt his towniness yet.

I don't want to vote for Rico because I still think like if he's Maf he'll straighten up and try. No, don't you see? That would be a tell at this point! Rico has found a way to low-stress mafia and be completely unreadable, all because we let him. Until he starts to try every game again, this unfortunate precedent WILL be used for Rico to hide amidst the mafia. Third time's the charm, right? Enough precedent has been set that I'm legit worried now.

IDK. TSP's responses around Rico were a little weird. I'm not as sue what it meant anymore.
Because if TSP and Rico were Maf together they could have lynched someone else, old chap. Even if it would make one of them look super scummy. Also, the TSP potential distancing campaign was literally 1 post and the rest was buddying. The Rico potential distancing campaign was nonexistent.

There definitely is a world where Rico and I are w/w, but this is not that world.

DrWilgy wrote: Sun Aug 06, 2017 10:26 pm Ok, no more haikus. I can't handle it anymore. Idk how the hell Rico posts in gimmick.

Here's what's up. I'm the 3rd party tie breaker. I can win with either civs or mafia, and I'm no one's enemy.

I was waiting until I lynched a mafia to say anything as a sign of good faith towards the civs. Luckily, that happened day one.

I do need to survive for awhile in order to achieve my win condition. I won't say what that is.

As a sign of good faith towards the scum, I will not be hunting from here on out. I will vote day to day in accordance to my independent win condition.

As of right now, I have submitted a random list for who takes priority in a tie. I will not change this list until I die. Speaking of which, I can manipulate ties post mortem. If I do happen to be lynched, I will side all ties in what I think is favorable to mafia. To the opposite, if I'm nk'd I'll side all ties in what I think is favorable to civs (you see how that went with Rico).

To keep myself involved in the game somewhat. I will answer the first 2 questions presented to me from 2 separate players each day phase. I will not share my win condition regardless of question.

Shall we have some fun?
Yeah, I wanted to put a book quote in every post but that takes way too much work.

1. Why'd you take out Rico Day 1?

Boomslang - could be Maf with

Elohcin - could be Maf with LC or Boom
Long Con - could be Maf with Elo
Made - could be Maf with anyone
Neverwhere - could be Maf with anyone
TonyStarkPrime - town

Wilgy, I'll make sure you get your tie today but you have to call who's going to die before it happens.

I like this plan, I also want to move forward with a Wilgy-test scenario.

I typed that, but then I thought about how it's a closed setup game, and a baddie extra vote would negatively implicate Wilgy. If Wilgy is tested and is wrong, do we then lynch him?
I think we wait for that situation when it comes up, but I don't think it will because reasons. I want to lynch Made today.

Ok, lay out the voting scenario for everyone to get on track.
7 players. 1 is Wilgy, two are being lynched. The other four divide into two groups. 2 vote for Made, two vote for Never. Made votes for Never. Wilgy votes for Made. Wilgy chooses who dies (or Never dies, I haven't figured out how the power works yet). If Made doesn't help, there are three votes on Made and he dies.

Okay, there are five left after tonight. I'm pretty sure Elo is town. If she isn't, she's fooled me. Made and Boom seem most likely but I'm not sure on it. I'm growing to be less sure on Wilgy, but we can't prove it necessarily untrue. I just find it unlikely that there would be two non-vanilla town roles and a non-vanilla neutral. LC is pinging me but not in a standard LC way.

- Tony seems helpful in most of his posts even though they are few and far between. He didn't vote yesterday which is concerning to me. Tony...please explain why you didn't vote and why you were against testing wilgy.

Boom...what say you about the number of mafia left in the game. Do you still think there are two?

Linki...yeah... I think Tony is our best bet afyer my reread.
I wanted to test Wilgy but I was concerned it wouldn't work out well. That said, I honestly thought I had voted for Made. It probably would have led to the same result, either 2-2 for Never or 2-3 the same way. I felt LC trying to get Wilgy to make sure Never died could be a Maf buddy steering away, which is why I suggested that. How I expect this to work out:

TonyStarkPrime has been lynched. He was George Wilson, a vanilla civilian.

Made has been endgamed. He was Nick Carraway, a vanilla civilian.

Congratulations to our winners,

Elochin, Mayer Wolfsheim, a vanilla mafia member.

Boomslang, Owl Eyes, a vanilla mafia member.

Dr. Wilgy, Daisy Buchanan, a neutral with an alternate win condition.

Or something like that. I'm not sure on the details, and that's more my fault for not playing well this game. I wasn't around as much as I should have been and I didn't see this one through as I should have.

To note: Boomslang voted against Rico day 1 and since has only voted for people who turned out town.
