Long Con wrote: Mon Nov 20, 2017 4:34 pm As for the cbob and mesk no-vote posts... they're empty filler. Neither of them are in any way real or substantial gameplay. There was nothing about mesk's "dirt" comment that should lead to any alignment decisions. IF you really feel the need to read into it, it indicates a general ignorance or the game structure, which doesn't show as good or bad. And I don't feel like it was even that. Does anyone disagree with this?

And the Rocket Man lyrics response is equally devoid of value. So Epi would have spared his vote for any player who acknowledged his Elton John joke. Why? It doesn't even plant a seed that could grow into a suspicion, it doesn't put anyone on the spot, the only effect is to make cbob slightly more comfortable.
I'm glad none of the other players in this game post empty filler.

I'm also glad that you, LC, consider every player as an option, rather than writing a few off on D1. Screw priorities, focus, or good feels. Gotta waste all that effort on evaluating every player.

Was to call out epi for his egregious behavior.

This is one of the stupidest arguments I've seen D1, regardless of epi's alignment. What's worse, IT ISN'T EVEN YOUR ARGUMENT! Sloonei brought it up and you bandwagoned!

And worst of all, there's still a strong possibility that you're town and this is just LCxEPI LOVE CHU CHU

Re: Mountain Mafia [DAY 1]

Mkay

I think the Epi train was formed out of nothing, and from now on, I'm going to pick two peeps not to lynch on D1 of every game and announce it to the world just to prove it. It's a stupid start to a stupid argument filled with stupidity, and the only reason Epi hasn't fought his way out of it is that he doesn't know how to defend against asininity.

(I love you guys <3 But I calls them as I sees them)

Eliminating possibilities for lynch on D1 is not a scumtell, and that's where the whole thing started. Once it became LC vs Epi, the arguments went the same way they usually do. Having caught up, I would posit that both are bull-headed town. And the strongest point against Epi is probably Nutella.

So I'm not going to vote for any of the three. Lemme see what my other options are

I get the first part. LC's initial argument is the suck. That's just Epi's way of defending against it.

As for the slip, it makes Epi look bad because it's not a slip, as I already posted. I would be willing to vote Epi for this if I hadn't seen him use the same argument last time he and someone else were town/town arguers.

Aaaaand I should probably go verify that.

Long Con wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2017 1:58 pm I don't know what you're saying; I don't feel the ping. Take me there.
Well, let's look at the post. What does it accomplish?

1. Reinforces the current lynch trains. If 0-1 of them are scum, then this is a decent move for scum. Having more than one scum in there is not likely. (Oh no, did I just assume their alignment? Don't even start with that.) Even with one scum in the three, it's easy to move away from one of them to make it between 2 people. Voters like having 2 options. Ask American politics.

2. Puts on a show of wanting an organized lynch, and of wanting participation, without actually adding anything to the reasons to lynch these three other than "they got votes on them already"

3. Vote rush shenanigans are chaotic, which might be good for scum . . . unless scum is composed of inactives or people not on that shortlist. In which case, a stable lynch is helpful. Townies should care more about who seems scummy rather than sticking to guns for the last hour and a half.
As for whether kyle agrees with looking at stable lynches, ask him for his opinion of Pirate Mafia D1.
Actually, I think someone has already done that.

Thus my ping

Alright I'm gonna go all Epi-style on this one. "Valid" is currently perhaps one of the most overused words in the English language. This post is devoid of meaning. All it really accomplishes is to express a "+1" sentiment toward Epi's question/"catch" of LC's so-called "slip", and a bit of a turnaround since Quin had been originally going hard against Epi.

So that's all I've got for Quin. Could go either way on him, but there are definitely a few tidbits here that stick out as odd.

All Epi did was throw out a couple of names that pleased him, in one form or another, and said he wasn't going to vote them D1.

Burden of proof on you guys. Give me a valid reason that this is scummy behavior. It doesn't make sense as a long game. Calling what Epi did "buddying" is like calling a D1 vote "hate mongering".

It's hard to argue against something that doesn't make sense, as Epi found out, but if you can explain the case in a way that doesn't sound insane, I'll give you some nebulous speedchuck points and rescind my opinion.

speedchuck wrote: Tue Nov 21, 2017 5:29 pm Just a friendly reminder that the buddying case on Epi was just the worst
why?
All Epi did was throw out a couple of names that pleased him, in one form or another, and said he wasn't going to vote them D1.

Burden of proof on you guys. Give me a valid reason that this is scummy behavior. It doesn't make sense as a long game. Calling what Epi did "buddying" is like calling a D1 vote "hate mongering".

It's hard to argue against something that doesn't make sense, as Epi found out, but if you can explain the case in a way that doesn't sound insane, I'll give you some nebulous speedchuck points and rescind my opinion.
I just figured it wasn't typical Epi behavior. Quin said the "ok I'm voting for Epi, do you guys know why" thing and I instantly understood that he was reacting to Epi naming townreads (or at least people he wouldn't vote for, whatever) since he posted it right after the post in question, and I took Quin's post to imply that he found that to be specifically unusual for Epi to do. I have nothing against naming townreads as a D1 behavior in general, but specifically Epi doing so felt out of character.
Ah, so it's a meta read? That's different.

*scours all the games I've played with Epi, focusing on D1 ISOs*

. . .

:evileye:

Fine, you can have a speedchuck point.

Didn't like the way you came in shooting at LC but then fell on Nutella.
I went back and looked at your posts. You were with LC practically the whole time. :evileye: Lost some points with me there, mate. Twas a poor case.

As I recall, you ended up on Nutella too, so :shrug2:
Yeah. Cause (at a basic level) I agreed with LC that Epi was bad and thought she was handwaiving the case on Epi to cover for a teammate.

Why were you voting Nutella again?
She wasn't LC.

LC was basically cleared in my eyes (as much as you can get on D1), and without my vote, he would have been lynched. Granted my vote came earlier, but I would have probably switched if I thought there was a better option at that moment in time.

speedchuck wrote: Mon Nov 20, 2017 7:53 pm (Basically I would think LC is scum but following such a stupid argument if he didn't genuinely see something in Epi is suicidal)

(And that's a town meta read on LC for me)
LC would not have, as scum, taken one of the danciest, hardest-to-lynch targets and formed a stupid argument to try and lynch him. My meta on LC says this sincere, earnest, and suicidal lynchlust comes from a town headspace.

And seriously, who would target Epi as their easy D1 lynch?

Motive-wise, it makes zero sense for LC to be scum outside of tinfoil land.

Remind me why you're clearing LC. I remember you being a detractor of his case and pursuit of Epi so why do you think he's good?
