well looking at her posts on this site, she played in two games a few years ago plus the most recent burglary, but I know that other than the burglary she hasn't played in a few years. but yeah she comes from LP like me and kyle, and played on a couple other sites like RM and the piano back then. So I guess she has some right to feeling like a noob on the syndicate specifically, not knowing most of the players and not having played for a long time

and yeah, based on the wording in the OP, the mafia know which roles are not in the game and are thus available for them to claim (I've played one or two other games with this mechanic -- in Mass Effect I was on a baddie team and we were told which roles we could safeclaim)

You are most kind, Master Sloonei and I wish that what you said were true (about finding a place where my personal convictions don’t interfere with gameplay, etc.) but I think we all know that place doesn’t exist and only ever could after a great deal of disappointment and frustration both on my part and that of the other members of any Town Team I ended up on between now and this side of eternity.

Again, the summation of all that Nutella has put in this post is WIFOM and semantics - the kind that I suspect a Mafia would employ to blow smoke around what they might consider an easy mis-lynch. I mightn’t feel so strongly at this point had I limited interaction with her since I’ve been on this site but she’s been round long enough to know the score.

Again, my actual thought process. Completely organic. And I always waffle. Not intentionally "blowing smoke," just trying to figure out where I stood. I don't want to mislynch you, and after gaining perspective from what Sloonei pointed out I reconsidered my stance because the evidence up until then caused me to believe you were most likely bad. No, I’m sure you never intended to force me into breaking any vow - that wasn’t your plan. You thought I’d stand by my principles and that would make me an easy mislynch - I can see through you...

No. I legitimately thought you were bad until Sloonei explained your previously expressed intention to avoid stating alignment. When I found out about that, I decided that you were about equally likely to be town, but I still wanted to hear from you yourself that you indeed intended to avoid such statements. I think I'm feeling better about LC for the moment, which leaves me about equally open to adding my vote to Ambray or Rabbit. Unfortunately they're both back from hiatus and I'd feel pretty bad lynching either of them D1, especially if I've perhaps forgotten their usual meta and they're really just civs doing their best with a largely unfamiliar set of players. Putting my vote on Ambray for now because I think rabbit at least is being more or less his usual self while Ambray has done nothing to answer for her questionable behavior. And I know she said she's been really busy but I think she'd still be posting a bit more content as a civ.

hm I didn't really think of it this way, I thought his change of heart looked genuine but I could be biased. I'll reread him and see what I think about the possible opportunism. He's a tricky one that LC. Been playing with him for ten years and can still never make up my mind about his style.

You didn't really give me much to respond to. You implied I had some kind of double standard re: Sloonei. I didn't. I just had a bad gut reaction to some of his early prods. As for the Sloonei/Ambray teammate thing, I don't really know what else you want me to say about that. It was a tinfoil that I felt like throwing out for reactions (and on the off chance I happened to be right). It was based on the aforementioned bad gut feeling I had about Sloonei's posts about Ambray on the first page or two. I don't really believe it anymore but I felt it was worth tossing out at the time. You agree with me that "posting to stimulate discussion is a worthy goal." So what's the problem?

Your last point is yet again that you think I look like I've been "caught" in changing my mind on you. I've been over this several times. I learned something about you wanting to change your meta that I was not aware of previously, and that changed my perspective on your behavior. It's really not that complicated.

Overall I think I like your defense... but you still don't seem to have made any effort to understand what went down with Glorfindel and your vote is still on him. And you have acknowledged that you just kind of blindly followed Kyle because you didn't know where else to put a D1 vote, but.... egh, I still don't like it. Now that you're back and can change your vote, what are you thinking?
