Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Night 0)

Full Metal Jacket features Adam Baldwin, who played Marcus Hamilton in Buffy.
According to http://buffy.wikia.com/wiki/Marcus_Hamilton, "Hamilton bears resemblance to Caleb, the evil priest/serial killer in Buffy's final season."
Caleb is one of the Independents.

The other poll options don't have any clear connections, or they may not be actor related. I'll have another look.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Night 0)

There are 4 poll options and 4 factions (Scooby Gang, Vampire Team, Independents & Glory). I could see each option representing a faction.

Nothing on House of Wax or New Jack City so far.

I'm voting Wayne's World. LoRab's post points to the movie having a Scooby Gang connection:
LoRab wrote: Sat Feb 03, 2018 3:01 am Wayne's World: Both have a "Noah's Arcade"--it's where the Trio brings a kidnapped Willow and Buffy confronts them. Also, Wayne's World ends with a whole Scooby Doo thing, and the Scooby Gang is, well, the Scooby Gang.

The story didn't make it sound like there was a tie. If i remember well, LC story posts usually mention this.

If there wasn't one, it could be because DrWilgy is Angelus and several of his votes got deflected.

Possible explanation for why Glory killed Wilgy? Maybe Glory is playing pro-civ and took a shot at Angelus?
Maybe, but if Angelus gets targeted for an NK, Darla dies instead. Which means unless anything weird happened, DrWilgy (and Marmot) are not Angelus.

Earlier today i mentioned spreading out the votes as to maybe figure out Darla, but that would almost guarantee a non-Vampire to be lynched. Then again, we'd have to be pretty lucky to lynch 2 baddies at the same time anyway, so maybe it's worth a shot.

rabbit never once mentioned novaselinenever even though they both started posting more at the same time, discussing different topics but not weighing in on each others.

This actually makes sense to me. In all honesty, I missed that the vampires could recruit Spike. But still, I'm not sure why single him out, of all the indies. As you say here, the Mayor can take a civ away from the civ numbers. In all fairness, I'm going on show knowledge--but I'm guessing the Mayor is more dangerous than Spike.

I still have an eyeball on you, but I'm less suspicious of you than I was last night.
Agreed on the Mayor, I am most concerned about Glory, but the Mayor is next on my list.

It is interesting. The Day post made me think of The Master, but he is not listed. The opening post mentioned the Hydra Monster thingie. We saw the multi headed beast in end of S1 with the Master and again in S3 with the Mayor. I dont know if this is helpful or not but those were my thoughts when I read it.
Not gonna lie, I’m only quoting this because in all the years of annoying the fuck out Illyria, I think this first time I got her to fucking laugh. Boom. I’m done with mafia, sorry all my goals have been reached.

novaselinenever wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2018 5:18 pm His whole push against me since last day phase feels like a scum trying to get an easy target for a vote and save himself from the scrutiny and giving reasons for his vote. He's just going after low poster as an excuse for that. That's at least the vibe I'm getting especially after he left a vote against me and was not seen again during the last day phase. He doesn't seem like he wants to try to out scum or read them.
His vote right now, against me and his whole ' I'm confident about my vote ' just strengthen my opinion of him. He was just waiting for me to come on and as soons as I voted against him, he pulled an OMEGUS.
I'm in Europe - the lynches end at 5am for me. Juliets pointed this out to you yesterday, you even replied to her. I vote early and i leave, as i will have to do again soon-ish. You should know this.
How did i wait for you to come on and vote to do an OMEGUS? I literally suggested to have "a couple of votes on novaselinenever" minutes before you came and voted me. You're doing the things you're accusing me of here, lol.

What do you think about the rabbit posts i went through?
Timezones are irrelevant. What is relevant is you going after me for low-activity and inactivity. You've been tunneling and using this as an excuse to vote and not give proper reads. This is how i see it, a scum trying not to put himself too much out there and vote against people where he might get scrutinized. You've been mentioning me in the majority with your post so that people don't forget that you view me as scum.

You've been suggesting it all day and didn't vote yourself. You agreed with people voting Illarya and sheeped them. However you still mentioned me and didn't vote against me at the time. You waited until I voted you, before voting. You aren't giving your opinion or thoughts on Illarya and just agreed with the majority voting her. Why didn't you vote her up ?

What of your rabbit post ? She's dead and all you did was say that she might have been scum. Why didn't you give these reads while she was still alive ?
Timezones are relevant. All of the main debates happen after midnight. Yesterday i went to sleep with only my vote on you, and woke up to several roleclaims and what looked like a triple tied lynch. Today i woke up and saw a dead, female rabbit.

Look at what happened today and in what order. I wanted discussion on a couple of players i had no reads on - juliets, Illyria and you. Several players have townreads on juliets, so i focus on you and Illyria. Going through rabbit's posts i pointed out his Illyria post and the fact the two of you never interacted. I wanted to hear other players' thoughts on that before voting. A couple are down with voting Illyria which i'm ok with. Then i suggest having you as a backup.

Then here's what i think happened.
You come in shortly after i suggested that (either lucky timing or someone alerted you) and you log into your baddie chatroom and read "looks like it's an Illyria lynch", and quickly vote Illyria and then quickly change it to me before someone notices. Then you don't name Illyria as a suspect in your next post. That's what makes you suspicious. That's why i'm confident in my vote. Whyyyyyyy vote Illyria? I could've maybe bought it had you voted alphabetically first, or went with your intended vote. I don't buy the "i wanted to see the results" excuse. You see the results when you vote for your intented target, and the view results function works just fine. Looks to me you quickly decided "i should vote with the majority" or "i should quickly vote for my own teammate" before changing your mind and trying something else. Then you get frustrated and make this mess with those no u posts, lol.

Anyway, i'm leaving my vote as it is. Time for me to go. I wasn't confident going in today having to vote early again, but i'm feeling pretty ok now.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Night 3)

I've seen staked vampires come back, sunlight only causing minor burns, magic spells eventually get broken and garlic is a myth.
Beheading is the best way to make sure whatever creature dies stays dead. It's the Sam and Dean way.

Looks like Drusilla only had 2 nights to try and recruit Spike. Fairly low odds of that having happened, and i think LC's story posts would've included some sort of hint. Good lynch result.

Why Ambray?

Might as well get my novaselinenever vote out of the way.

Could be better though. Did Ambray save speedchuck? Didn't she vote for him?

@ sig and lapluie: Who would you have voted for?

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Night 4)

I think we may be looking at 1 baddie left (odds are a dead vampire in Marmot/rabbit and assuming no Spike recruit), and Glory.
I'm still feeling nova slipped with that quick Illy vote, and no idea on Glory minus a couple of players i think may be certain civ roles.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Day 5)

Not sure how i feel that post. Let's hope nova was bad but i guess Buffy's reaction hints otherwise.

What are everyone's thoughts right now?
sig and lapluie: Who would you have voted for yesterday?
How does MacDougall usually play?

I may have to do some rereading at work today as i'll be afk later tonight.

Yourself? Pray tell why?
Maybe he said that to make it look like he isn't able to kill? I don't know what to think of MacDougall. He pretty much started the Ambray lynch based on nothing except "it's obvious".
lapluie has missed 3 out of 4 votes. Hard to get a read on someone if they don't vote.

I could see myself voting one of these two, maybe.
Where is everyone??? I'll be gone for the next couple of hours, then i have to vote when i get back. We need more discussion.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Day 5)

Do you think LoRab is Vampire or Glory? lapluie could've been Glory.

Glory is a goddess from an evil dimension. Attempts to detect Glory will result in a false and innocuous reading. Attempts to kill her at night will mostly fail- only the Slayer can kill her. Glory gets one kill every other night, and she must outlive everyone to win.

lapluie wasn't killed at night.

This. We got lucky a couple of times but civ rolehints and putting juliets on top of those rainbow lists out of nowhere helped us alot.

Fun game! Thanks BR/LC. Maybe i'll finally watch Buffy one of these days :p
