this was also my initial reaction. Like, for one thing she's posted multiple times in the sign-up thread, though I can believe that DF hasn't been reading it. Based on Lorab's and Tranq's analyses I'm going with Wayne's World.

I think he may have carried over the idea of locations from the Mortal Kombat game, but that was just one poll and the number of votes each location got determined the order in which the locations were visited. Which is not quite the same idea he was implying. So... idk.

@SVS- as for the DF thing I was just noting that I had an initial reaction to his post and stream-of-consciousnessed myself out of thinking it meant anything. I now believe his sentiment was genuine. And the google thing was... something else. Not really a suspicion. Don't worry about it.

I realize that if he does flip bad I'll look very bad but I just wanted to give them the botd and give them a chance to post, maybe they're in over their head and haven't really figured out how to get in on the discussion. I don't like lynching new players before they have had a chance to experience the game.

11/20 players voted. Lame. I do have to admit the deadline kind of snuck up on me too-- 24 hour days really do feel too short sometimes. I wonder if in future side missions we could make an exception for day 1.

I have no idea. I didn't play that game. I think I remember hearing about WIllow turning bad in it, but was there no indication at all of some secret aspect of her role? I guess the hosts would want to be very sneaky about that. I suppose it's possible.

I'm not seeing what speed is seeing tbh. I think Ambray's and Tranq's comments were completely reasonable to say after these events and especially in the context of the discussion -- speed, both you and lap came in saying "why the heck was loop lynched" and then SVS explained some of the reasoning, and then some people who missed the vote added that they thought the reasons for voting loop seemed valid at the time and they probably would have gone along with it. Nothing wrong with that.

Heck, I voted Wilgy and I don't blame the Loop voters. I was almost convinced by Lorab's theory that he was a baddie who found out House of Wax was the option for his team and drive-by voted... though on the other hand I think it's pretty rare nowadays for teams to just be told that a certain night poll option benefits them, but still even without that the drive-by vote without posting could be indicative of a nervous baddie (in this case I think it was just a nervous/overwhelmed new player unfamiliar with our ways)

I get that. You just seem to be assuming a different premise here. I don't think the posts you are prodding were defenses. They were simply stating where they probably would have voted. On another note, can someone explain to me why so many people are voting for Angelus? He's literally a member of the scum team in this game? Seems likely even more dangerous than the Dark Willow speculation imo.

He went after the people who missed the vote and then said they would have voted for Loop (or at least that was the case for Ambray... apparently Tranq voted but for rabbit and later said he would have switched to loop if he'd been around) but yeah to be fair you are kind of putting words in his mouth. I do find him suspicious for the other reasons you have pointed out though (his eagerness to jump on those players and his vote for juliets / general eagerness to find easy suspects)

Hey, sorry. My attention has been largely focused on a different game which is currently at a somewhat critical juncture. For about 2/3 of the next 5.5 hours this game will be my #1 priority.

earlier i wanted to look through marmot's posts to see if I can see what spike might have seen in him so i'm going to start there.

okay I'm going to try this again. Anyone who thinks DF "slipped" has not thought about it for more than thirty seconds and is being painfully opportunistic. He clearly just misread the sentence, go look at the role description, it is easy enough to misinterpret on a quick glance. This makes him actively LESS likely to be on the vampire team. juliets, ambray, if you are seriously trying to push the idea that he slipped one of you is going to get my vote.

Putting my vote on speed for now. I could be reading him wrong since he tends to have a similar style regardless of alignment, but my thinking is that if he's bad he's a pretty scary one to have around late in the game so I'd rather not take that chance if I have any reason to suspect him.

I don't like your accusation of Tranq and Ambray. It doesn't even make sense to accuse them of making "excuses" or "justifications" when they are literally admitting that they would probably have voted for someone who turned out to be a civ. They were not responsible for the mislynch. They don't have to make excuses. You calling them out for being honest looks contrived as hell.

What's wrong with people who voted discussing how they would have voted after a mislynch? It would be suspicious had they said they would NOT have voted for him. Like I said, had he not been lynched yesterday, I likely would have voted for Loop tomorrow if he kept up the same behavior.

Nothing is wrong with people discussing how they would have voted... other than the fact that they know the result now, so anything they say is going to be skewed toward protecting their image. But aside from that...

I suppose I should have been more specific. Is someone suspecting the Loop voters? Because both Ambray and Tranq are defending the Loop voters unprompted, and I want an explanation for it.

I also want to know why Tranq basically copied Ambray's post.

Lemme just quote this post again for fun. You really don't want to get lynched "for no reason" because, sure, that would suck if you were town and mislynched for no reason, but it would also suck if you were bad and felt that your lynch was not justified. It's a pretty common scum sentiment to get annoyed if you feel like you're being lynched for the wrong reasons and don't feel that the town deserves "getting lucky" with your lynch.

So there you have it. You prompting me to make this post has made me 200% more confident in my vote for you. Lynching you for no reason? No sir. Definitely not.

I must have missed them then. I'm not really avoiding the game, I'm just a quiet player and don't post unless I have something to contribute. At the moment, I don't and that's why you haven't heard my thoughts. Also, S-V-S never mentioned me in a post or I didn't get the notification.

Me posting in another game and not in this one doesn't mean anything. You could always check that game and you'd see that I didn't post early in the game when I didn't have anything to add.

I tend not to use the mention function; this is my first game back for a 6 month or so break and we did not have it back them. I also work on the assumption that people read the thread. Sorry about that.

Not sure if you realized but the host in this game penalizes for missed votes.

It bothered me that people were jumping to conclusions about a "slip" because it seemed highly unlikely and an opportunistic thing to jump on. When something like that has a perfectly reasonable explanation I like to point it out and make sure people realize it.

A question though, do they accumulate ? For example, if someone already has a vote penalty on them and proceeds to not vote again. Would they have 2 votes on them next day phase ?

That's up to the hosts. They might or might not give you an answer. Really it would be smartest and safest of you to just use your vote and stop being unreasonably contentious about it.

That's the point. You say that she put words in speedchuck's mouth but I haven't seen an utterance of a negative read on her. That's the kind of thing that usually creates a ping and a mafia read for me. Misrepresenting people is how scum make cases.
