Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Night 0)
this was also my initial reaction. Like, for one thing she's posted multiple times in the sign-up thread, though I can believe that DF hasn't been reading it. But is this reaction from reading the player list as soon as the game is posted? I guess I can believe that as well, but... he could also have just gotten a team role PM with her in it... nah this is too tinfoily never mind. slips like that don't happen.

No clue how to vote. I want to look and see if there was any crossover between the casts, they were all in the same general time frame as Buffy, maybe a bit earlier, if you count the House of Wax remake rather than the original. Yay for late poll end time, will have plenty of time after work.
Nutella, what is suspicious about Googling?
...Yeah never mind that lol
Based on Lorab's and Tranq's analyses I'm going with Wayne's World.

I think he may have carried over the idea of locations from the Mortal Kombat game, but that was just one poll and the number of votes each location got determined the order in which the locations were visited. Which is not quite the same idea he was implying. So... idk.

@SVS- as for the DF thing I was just noting that I had an initial reaction to his post and stream-of-consciousnessed myself out of thinking it meant anything. I now believe his sentiment was genuine. And the google thing was... something else. Not really a suspicion. Don't worry about it.

Yes Wilgy is a zany fellow. No clue what he's on about.
"Flip" means role reveal (in some games NKed players' roles are revealed, but this is more what you'd be used to in that just lynched roles are revealed). BOTD = benefit of the doubt

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Night 1)
I'm not seeing what speed is seeing tbh. I think Ambray's and Tranq's comments were completely reasonable to say after these events and especially in the context of the discussion -- speed, both you and lap came in saying "why the heck was loop lynched" and then SVS explained some of the reasoning, and then some people who missed the vote added that they thought the reasons for voting loop seemed valid at the time and they probably would have gone along with it. Nothing wrong with that.
Heck, I voted Wilgy and I don't blame the Loop voters. I was almost convinced by Lorab's theory that he was a baddie who found out House of Wax was the option for his team and drive-by voted... though on the other hand I think it's pretty rare nowadays for teams to just be told that a certain night poll option benefits them, but still even without that the drive-by vote without posting could be indicative of a nervous baddie (in this case I think it was just a nervous/overwhelmed new player unfamiliar with our ways)

I get that. You just seem to be assuming a different premise here. I don't think the posts you are prodding were defenses. They were simply stating where they probably would have voted. You, Mr Chuck, are looking to me like a man in search of a suspect. You came in after the night all ready to be all traditional and stuff and lay the blame for the mislynch on the people who voted for that person. You looked to be trying to link Ambray and Tranqs posts about how they might have voted Loop as well, like they were BTS slips.
Now Juliets, when that did not pan out for you.
Between that and just my feel for you, how you backed down. It just doesn't feel genuine to me.
I have to reread that exchange again, and I want to read a few other people. I really REALLY REALLY want to hear from Lapluie, she HAS to have some thought by now, any thought. Also Vaseline, any thoughts?

I agree with speed that lap is town, but I agree with svs that speed is sus.
I think DF simply misread the drusilla-spike recruitment sentence (like switched the pronouns in his mind or something and interpreted it backwards) and I think he is unlikely to be on the vampire team

Yeah SVS it's true Speed never went after the Loop voters. He went after the people who missed the vote and then said they would have voted for Loop (or at least that was the case for Ambray... apparently Tranq voted but for rabbit and later said he would have switched to loop if he'd been around) but yeah to be fair you are kind of putting words in his mouth. I do find him suspicious for the other reasons you have pointed out though (his eagerness to jump on those players and his vote for juliets / general eagerness to find easy suspects)

okay I'm going to try this again. Anyone who thinks DF "slipped" has not thought about it for more than thirty seconds and is being painfully opportunistic. He clearly just misread the sentence, go look at the role description, it is easy enough to misinterpret on a quick glance. This makes him actively LESS likely to be on the vampire team. juliets, ambray, if you are seriously trying to push the idea that he slipped one of you is going to get my vote.

Putting my vote on speed for now. I could be reading him wrong since he tends to have a similar style regardless of alignment, but my thinking is that if he's bad he's a pretty scary one to have around late in the game so I'd rather not take that chance if I have any reason to suspect him.

I didn't say "don't blame me if he's town." I'd feel bad if you were town and would absolutely deserve getting some blame for it. So yes, I admit I could be reading you wrong, but I feel like I have enough reason to suspect you at the moment and it's more than I have on anyone else for today. I don't like your accusation of Tranq and Ambray. It doesn't even make sense to accuse them of making "excuses" or "justifications" when they are literally admitting that they would probably have voted for someone who turned out to be a civ. I suppose I should have been more specific. Is someone suspecting the Loop voters? Because both Ambray and Tranq are defending the Loop voters unprompted, and I want an explanation for it.
I also want to know why Tranq basically copied Ambray's post.
Please let Tranq and Ambray answer my prod.

Again, pretty similar to what I later said about you and you flipped out.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 1:51 pmI was ISOing players and she was the first high poster who I did not get a single town ping from. Her posts are mostly mechspec and prodding toward others.LoRab wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 1:41 pmWhy Juliets?speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 1:02 pm I'm placing a vote on Juliets until I have a reason not to.
I don't recall Juliets's meta, so this may be normal for her. Nevertheless, the vote is on the board, and I want to see what she does about it. Clock is ticking.
Lemme just quote this post again for fun. You really don't want to get lynched "for no reason" because, sure, that would suck if you were town and mislynched for no reason, but it would also suck if you were bad and felt that your lynch was not justified. It's a pretty common scum sentiment to get annoyed if you feel like you're being lynched for the wrong reasons and don't feel that the town deserves "getting lucky" with your lynch.speedchuck wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 7:59 pm I would like the people that suspect me to give me a reason, then reference the post that gave them that reason. Because all I see is a bunch of bullcrap, and this will be the first time since I joined the syndicate that I have been lynched for no reason whatsoever.
If they cannot follow the above instructions, I ask that they move their vote to someone they have some legitimate suspicion of.
So there you have it. You prompting me to make this post has made me 200% more confident in my vote for you. Lynching you for no reason? No sir. Definitely not.
Lynch the chuck.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Day 2)
If you're reading the thread how did you miss Tranq's explanation of his vote for you? I guess you didn't even check his ISO before you made the post asking him.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 9:32 pmYou're assumption is right, I do read the thread and try to keep up with it. As should anyone. However, I missed your mention and I just did an iso on you to find it. You actually asked twice but they were buried in a post not addressing me. I must have been not paying much attention.S~V~S wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 9:19 pmI tend not to use the mention function; this is my first game back for a 6 month or so break and we did not have it back them. I also work on the assumption that people read the thread. Sorry about that.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 9:14 pmI must have missed them then. I'm not really avoiding the game, I'm just a quiet player and don't post unless I have something to contribute. At the moment, I don't and that's why you haven't heard my thoughts. Also, S-V-S never mentioned me in a post or I didn't get the notification.juliets wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 9:00 pmTranq has gone for the night as he said in his last post. He explained his vote for you in another post - have you read them? You haven't made any posts besides this one since Day 0 and it kinda feels like you are avoiding the game because you are posting elsewhere. S~V~S asked you your thoughts on the game but you haven't responded. It would be helpful to me if you would. I can see why Tranq voted for you and I could consider a vote here as well.

Me posting in another game and not in this one doesn't mean anything. You could always check that game and you'd see that I didn't post early in the game when I didn't have anything to add.
Not sure if you realized but the host in this game penalizes for missed votes.
Just tag me next time you want to hear from me. Or vote me up, I wont' miss that.

novaselinenever the penalty vote was mentioned in the lynch post. Everyone who missed the vote on D1 started D2 with a vote on them. You have an extra vote against you.

wait what? I never said anything about my read on SVS.MacDougall wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 10:02 pmHow is it that you can feel like SVS is putting words in speedchuck's mouth but not be sceptical of her because of it? He went after the people who missed the vote and then said they would have voted for Loop (or at least that was the case for Ambray... apparently Tranq voted but for rabbit and later said he would have switched to loop if he'd been around) but yeah to be fair you are kind of putting words in his mouth. I do find him suspicious for the other reasons you have pointed out though (his eagerness to jump on those players and his vote for juliets / general eagerness to find easy suspects)

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Day 2)
It bothered me that people were jumping to conclusions about a "slip" because it seemed highly unlikely and an opportunistic thing to jump on. When something like that has a perfectly reasonable explanation I like to point it out and make sure people realize it.
Why else am I pinging you?

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Day 2)
That's up to the hosts. They might or might not give you an answer. Really it would be smartest and safest of you to just use your vote and stop being unreasonably contentious about it.novaselinenever wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 10:05 pmWell, I missed that too. Thank you.
A question though, do they accumulate ? For example, if someone already has a vote penalty on them and proceeds to not vote again. Would they have 2 votes on them next day phase ?

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Day 2)
Oh, well other than that I've gotten a civ vibe from SVS. I think it is more likely she was either misremembering or wording things badly than deliberately putting words in his mouth, I just made this post to set the record straight.MacDougall wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 10:08 pmThat's the point. You say that she put words in speedchuck's mouth but I haven't seen an utterance of a negative read on her. That's the kind of thing that usually creates a ping and a mafia read for me. Misrepresenting people is how scum make cases.nutella wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2018 10:05 pmwait what?
