LoRab wrote: Sat Feb 03, 2018 3:01 am Looking at the poll (thanks google):

Full Metal Jacket, Xander references the movie (Life taker, heartbreaker) when greeting Riley when he returns to Sunnydale. Also, a Vampire says to Spike who is attacking him, "What's your malfuncion, man" which is also a reference.
House of Wax: Plotline of the original could connect to various buffy story lines, but can't find anything in particular that stands out. And none of it looks remotely good.
New Jack City: There's a "I never liked you anyway" connection, but that's a pretty common line, I think. Spike says it to Buffy.
Wayne's World: Both have a "Noah's Arcade"--it's where the Trio brings a kidnapped Willow and Buffy confronts them. Also, Wayne's World ends with a whole Scooby Doo thing, and the Scooby Gang is, well, the Scooby Gang.

That was not so helpful. Although almost fun. I'm sure I'm missing obvious things. Or, Rock Con are just messing with us with random movie titles. I feel like I'm missing references, though.

linkitis:
@kyle: You don't have to watch it all at on
@LA: Google coupled with a buffy knowledge. But yes, mostly google.
Lorab gets some early civ points for this post.

What does everyone think about the Independents? I'd say Glory is a top priority to kill for all players, followed by the mafia, and maybe Spike. I do think its possible Spike has the type of role where he can also become a civ, it could be something along the lines of he searches for Buffy every night and if he finds her they get BTSC and he becomes a civ, which would be nice. However, we've got no way of knowing if that's the case so I think it would be safer to lynch him.

Thoughts?

Ok, I've read back through every post and don't see anything about "locations" - the poll appears to be movies. Are you saying those movies represent locations? If so, how do you know which one is the worst? And how did you make that connection? (Admittedly, I sometimes miss things that are obvious.)

I'm assuming we'll be either visiting the movies/locations in them or the option we pick will have an impact on the game. This is an assumption though it could just be a meaningless fluff poll, but I doubt it.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Day 1)

I wanted to see how Mac reacted to a vote, honestly it wasn't as fun as I thought it would be.

I was talking about the Indies/Glory as a whole the only reason Spike stuck out was because he could be flipped to mafia. I'm guessing that if he can be recruited to the mafia team he could also be recruited to the civs it even mentions his love for Buffy.

I see no reason to suspect me for anything, if I'm mafia as some are guessing why would I be advertising for spike? The mafia are the ones who search for him not the other way around. I'm just saying he could be a bigger threat then the other independents since we know for a fact he's a traitor role who has two kills. Now I'm not advocating indy hunting, just pointing out the roles aren't inherently prove civ.
Black Rock wrote: Fri Feb 02, 2018 11:24 pm
Drusilla - Her dreams will tell her the role of one player of her choosing each night. If she finds Spike, he will join their team.

Spike - He has two anytime kills. He has a modification chip and can’t kill any humans. If he targets a human his kill will fail. His love for Buffy is undying… *secrets* =
Someone mentioned the mayor, I don't think he can become a civ due to this wording.
Black Rock wrote: Fri Feb 02, 2018 11:24 pm Faith Lehane - Faith will find out who one player is targeting each night. If Faith tracks the Mayor, she will join him in his Win Condition. *secrets*
This implies Faith will stop being a civ and become an independent with the mayor.

That's what I was saying in my first post. :noble:

I need to reread what other players said about the day 0 poll, I gave some civ points to Lorab for it and then I believe juliets and Tranq also started doing research. I think it's possible one is mafia trying to be helpful.

I'm also eyeing Rabbit and to a lesser extent Mac. Mac's response to my vote was very mute and he hasn't posted much yet which seems to go agaisnt his meta and rabbit role hunting me for my comments on Spike is troublesome.

If push comes to shove and we don't have any good info I could see lynching an inactive, I'd like to avoid this but, with so many indies the chance of getting a non civ is about 55/45.

I wouldn't say a lot but I have definitely seen it since the last recruitment game. More than once I'm sure. Maybe I will get a chance to look through some of the recent games. It's done enough that I knew what he was talking about. My only question was where he got the idea that those movies represented locations.
I've been in a few games besides just Mortal kombat where we vote on locations every night. The ones that pop up to me immediately would be Star Wars and the Batman game, both of which took place awhile ago. I was assuming we'd visit now I guess it would be watch each area. This was just me guessing though.

I don't like going after inactive/no shows but I'm currently at a loss and I feel like we won't have much activity with the Super Bowl going on tonight so I'll need to put some more thought into who to vote for.

sig, could you explain why you see rabbit's thought that you could be spike signaling troublesome? I can understand you might not like it but I think it was a valid theory at the time it was raised.

Lapluie, could you tell me some games you have played on this site other than the one that is now in progress?
I'll keep in mind that it was a valid theory, but he was the first person to respond to my post and only mentioned the Spike portion. A part of me thinks the mafia would try to get in thread confirmation, however another part, which is why I'm hesitant on going after rabbit, would think the mafia would ignore it in thread.

That was bloody.

Timmer being killed isn't bad but it isn't great. It all depends with the Indies how ppl play them. How's the mayor not human and aren't wearwolfs technically human?

I think it's safer to assume spike hit a non civ.

Someone (Mac?) Mentioned mafia killing low poster, this is true but jack is also a high speed player so it could be more along that logic then the clearing out inactive.

This actually makes sense to me. In all honesty, I missed that the vampires could recruit Spike. But still, I'm not sure why single him out, of all the indies. As you say here, the Mayor can take a civ away from the civ numbers. In all fairness, I'm going on show knowledge--but I'm guessing the Mayor is more dangerous than Spike.

I still have an eyeball on you, but I'm less suspicious of you than I was last night.
Agreed on the Mayor, I am most concerned about Glory, but the Mayor is next on my list.

It is interesting. The Day post made me think of The Master, but he is not listed. The opening post mentioned the Hydra Monster thingie. We saw the multi headed beast in end of S1 with the Master and again in S3 with the Mayor. I dont know if this is helpful or not but those were my thoughts when I read it.
So here's our first game content, talking about Glory and the Mayor looking back super pingy that she didn't mention the mafia, the rest of the post was fluff/not game related.

Also, what now> I don't remember playing with you, sorry. So, other people, is this normal behavior for DrW? Since no one commented on it, I am guessing yes but I want to be sure.

Interaction with Wilgy, I view this as trying to set up a lynch maybe? it could be distancing, but seems uncalled for so I'll assume Wilgy isn't a dead teammate.

As of right now, I am feeling that Lorab is a civvie. I am waiting for Lup to post more, especially as they are new, but I think I am eyeing them?? I am also eyeing DrW because of that odd post even if you all think that is normal. If that is his only one so far, I am going to wait to see if he will say anything else on topic-- but right now I think that might be where my vote is going? UGGGGH. This is hard!! /tantrum

I am hoping that I will be able to dust some of this rust off my mafia instincts. I am not sure that I trust them right now!
Prod from SVS.

Reading Lorab as a civ, eye on Wilgy and Loop, who flipped civ day 1.

The only player alive out of this first set is Lorab.

Illyria wrote: Sun Feb 04, 2018 7:58 pm Oh geez. I meant Lapluie. Sorry. Lap!

If loop did not post in either thread, I wonder if they meant to sign up at all? That seems slightly odd to click yes and the never post anywhere?
Meant Lap, who's still alive. I'll need to see further interaction between the two since some minor suspicion isn't that telling.

Illyria wrote: Mon Feb 05, 2018 8:18 pm So Lap voted for Glory, but I searched their posts and I could not find why?? Did I miss it? Neither did SpeedChuck that I saw.

I am going to wait and see if my antiquated way of searching posts is not how it is done anymore but.. I am pinged by that somewhat.

I'll get back to this post.

Wilgy was an odd choice as he had some suspish on him. I just looked at Who Posted, and Jack was not a low poster but I don't recall anything he actually said.

I Am still looking at lapluie, and a few other people got my eye, but I need to think about it. I go back to work today so will be on the quiet side until after 4 eastern.
Hello there, just flipped back. no none of them are participating in this game, however I'm more diligent on the other game right now that I've lost train of thought here, my apologies.

I'm not afraid to voice an opinion but as of right now, I will say we should look more into the loop mislynch voters, it's very duck soup to jump on a wagon especially on day 0 (?) with little to no evidence off a players behaviours for an easy quick lynch. I noticed a few players piled on before due time & im skeptical about that, for now ill be placing vote of DFaraday - I believe he voted for Loop also, his reasoning for vote was moot.
Okay, why did you vote for Glory? Also, so I can read your posts correctly, is English your L1?

True to canon. He was Hard Core.

Okay, sorry again. My work schedule is stupidly insane on Mon and Tuesday, I have some time on Weds and Thurs (assuming I make it that long) and I will do what I can tonight.

Speed is getting support from La, Lap and Kyle. I see what SVS is saying, I felt like Speed was stirring the pot a little to see what stuck but with our numbers dwindling so quickly I am now hesitant to go all in on Speed yet. I am leaning NoVaseline as they have not posted except to ask why someone voted for them. I think. I am going to try out that fancy iso button La told me about, that is nifty.
Some more back and forth with Lap, she seems to have focused on them alot compared to other players and I'm not sure what to think of it. She starts to set up a case agaisnt speed, which did almost result in his lynch day 2, so I'll look there out of the main two counter wagons I'd say Speed is looking better atm then Juliets.

Nov is probably not on the same team if she's talking about lynching them, but I'd not civ read him(her?)

Illyria wrote: Tue Feb 06, 2018 9:12 pm Well, that did not take long. NoVa has posted twice about the Day 0 stuff, and then asked Tranq why he got the vote from him.

Okay. I have to go and check LoRab, traditionally, I have not been able to read her accurately (possibly ever but someone with a better brain than me can answer that).

Linki: @lapluie I work in languages, and some of your idiomatic phrasing made me think that you were romance language based. It helps me differentiate between you having a baddie slip up, or having another language running around your brain making noise. Thank you!

More talk on Nova and says she'll check LoRab I'll need to see where this leads.

Tranq has gone for the night as he said in his last post. He explained his vote for you in another post - have you read them? You haven't made any posts besides this one since Day 0 and it kinda feels like you are avoiding the game because you are posting elsewhere. S~V~S asked you your thoughts on the game but you haven't responded. It would be helpful to me if you would. I can see why Tranq voted for you and I could consider a vote here as well.

link
I must have missed them then. I'm not really avoiding the game, I'm just a quiet player and don't post unless I have something to contribute. At the moment, I don't and that's why you haven't heard my thoughts. Also, S-V-S never mentioned me in a post or I didn't get the notification.

Me posting in another game and not in this one doesn't mean anything. You could always check that game and you'd see that I didn't post early in the game when I didn't have anything to add.
I did check the other game and you posted 18 times on Day 0 and Day 1/Night 1, most of that on Day 0. You even gave a read on someone as being suspicious. I'll agree that you didn't say a whole lot but you were a lot more active than you've been here.

linki
NoVa, I have been out of this for almost a year and I am getting pinged by people. You have to have some kind of reaction to someone by now, that is what we are looking for here.
rabbit8 wrote: Tue Feb 06, 2018 9:42 pm Sorry, I defiantly did not get drunk and spill shit all over my keyboard and fry anything. :|
No sirreeebob. :noble:

I have to say that right now, the people dodging the direct questions are making my radar go nuts. Specifically, Lap and NoVa, I am not expecting a monster post (though nice one La!) from you-- but this is speed mafia and moves a lot faster. We need you to move faster too, especially if you are civvie. Can you at least give us a name or two of someone you find suspicious and why?

throws some mud over at Nova and Lap again, Illy is focusing in one them alot.

I am going to re read Kyle and (always..) Rabbit. I was not loving Kyle's explanations last night but it was very late and I was very tired. I am going to give that another go. Rabbit, is.. well.. Rabbit and I dont read him well because he always pings me no matter which role.

Linki: Kyle LOL. True story about SVS.
Says she's going to read kyle, not sure if this happened? I'd also note the Lorab reread never seemed to appear.

So I didn't get alot out of this, she didn't engage with all the players which could be a ping that they're mafia. From my ISO Lap, Nova, and Speed come out looking good. I'm shaky on lorab and Kyle, since she did say she'd look them over, but didn't.

Before I do any ISO, I'm going to be looking very closely at Nutella, Tranq, and Speed.

Tranq's been tunneling on Nova all game avoiding the other major lynches and Nutella/Speed was one of the two other wagons the day DF got lynched.

Did a reread of yesterday.

Mac
Speed
Lorab
nutella

all jumped on an illy wagon fairly quickly which does look good. In theory one could be bussing, but with such a small team I feel like they'd wait a bit to bus.

The two Illy voters I'm looking at now are SVS and juliets
Tranq wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2018 4:55 pm Illyria sounds good. With a couple of votes on novaselinenever in case she's Angelus?
I don't like this post it seems like you're trying to start a counterwagon. However you and nova have been going back and forth since day 1 so this could just be civ on civ.

I'd rather not lynch Tranq tomorrow.

SVS probably had the most drive by Illy lynch out of what i've looked at right now, which could be bussing. Thoughts?

In rough order. My townreads, the top half of the list, are more certain than my scumreads.
I was one of your top civ reads before I suspected you, is that how you roll? :pout:

Catching up now, I had Illy towards the bottom of my rankings last time I posted them, is it just generic blendy quietness or is it something else?
speedchuck wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2018 4:47 pm LoRab, I had you as like a top townread except for the role fishing, which wouldn't even be as bad if you hadn't denied it. But for today, I'm willing to chalk that up to "different backgrounds" (My background is closed setups with lots of role crap, and role fishing [in other words trying to get someone to talk directly about their role or what their role is not] was considered bad bad bad) because we share a common top scumread. Let's talk about that.

You read Illyria as scum for meta, gut, and a few posts. I've been reading her as scum because of tone and interactions, having never played a game with her before.

We arrived at the same conclusion for different, but complementary reasons. And I find that to be a good reason to vote.
I like this post.

MacDougall wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2018 5:20 pm So your case is because he cased you but he is the one pulling omgus?

That kind of crazy talk only comes from civs. Next.

Oi lapluie talk.
I don't care that his case is against me. It doesn't matter if it is against me or any other low poster.

The case is he's pushing against inactives and low posters. He isn't trying to out scum or do anything else. He is just trying to find easy target to leave his vote on them and then save himself the trouble and scrutiny from Town. With his votes against me no one is questioning it or his reads. The only reason he's been giving is low-posting and inactivity. He did the same last day phase before leaving. He just mentioned me and my activity, and then left his vote and left. He didn't try going against Speechuck or DFaraday, because they required real reads and reasons to vote them. Scum would avoid that and go for easy targets. That's what he's doing.

He did the same right now. As soon as I voted against him, he returned the favor and went on with ' I feel good about my vote '. If that isn't bullshit I don't know what is.
I think this may be cultural? The other LP people can correct me if I am wrong, but this was a very common thing where we all came from, we voted for low posters/non voters the first few days, especially if it was quiet like it was on Super Bowl Sunday. You seem to be taking this personally, and it is more of a "Play or die" thing. It's more fun playing with people who play

Also Mac should post MOAR CAT VIDEOS!!

Dropping a vote on Illy for now, will bbl after dinner to finish reading.
Prior to this the only direct contact from SVS side seems to be saying both rabbit and Illy are null reads.
