Full Metal Jacket, Xander references the movie (Life taker, heartbreaker) when greeting Riley when he returns to Sunnydale. Also, a Vampire says to Spike who is attacking him, "What's your malfuncion, man" which is also a reference.
House of Wax: Plotline of the original could connect to various buffy story lines, but can't find anything in particular that stands out. And none of it looks remotely good.
New Jack City: There's a "I never liked you anyway" connection, but that's a pretty common line, I think. Spike says it to Buffy.
Wayne's World: Both have a "Noah's Arcade"--it's where the Trio brings a kidnapped Willow and Buffy confronts them. Also, Wayne's World ends with a whole Scooby Doo thing, and the Scooby Gang is, well, the Scooby Gang.

That was not so helpful. Although almost fun. I'm sure I'm missing obvious things. Or, Rock Con are just messing with us with random movie titles. I feel like I'm missing references, though.

kyle: You don't have to watch it all at on
LA: Google coupled with a buffy knowledge. But yes, mostly google.
Lorab gets some early civ points for this post.

What does everyone think about the Independents? I'd say Glory is a top priority to kill for all players, followed by the mafia, and maybe Spike. I do think its possible Spike has the type of role where he can also become a civ, it could be something along the lines of he searches for Buffy every night and if he finds her they get BTSC and he becomes a civ, which would be nice. However, we've got no way of knowing if that's the case so I think it would be safer to lynch him.

Thoughts?

What's wrong with people who voted discussing how they would have voted after a mislynch? It would be suspicious had they said they would NOT have voted for him. Like I said, had he not been lynched yesterday, I likely would have voted for Loop tomorrow if he kept up the same behavior.
Nothing is wrong with people discussing how they would have voted... other than the fact that they know the result now, so anything they say is going to be skewed toward protecting their image. But aside from that...

I suppose I should have been more specific. Is someone suspecting the Loop voters? Because both Ambray and Tranq are defending the Loop voters unprompted, and I want an explanation for it.

I also want to know why Tranq basically copied Ambray's post.

Please let Tranq and Ambray answer my prod.

There may have been a tie. Not all factors that could affect the lynch outcome are necessarily public, so I can't answer that.
The story didn't make it sound like there was a tie. If i remember well, LC story posts usually mention this.

If there wasn't one, it could be because DrWilgy is Angelus and several of his votes got deflected.
Or because Darla is one of the Loop voters.
Or because Dawn Summers used a -1 or a +1
Or because of secrets.

Thoughts?
I think Long Con is smart enough not to give away role abilities through flavor text. Unless he wants to. And clearly, since he refused to answer your question, he doesn't want us to know.

So I don't have many thoughts on those roles. Only the one: If Darla caused the lynch, then Darla made a mistake. Doublevoters that want to hide their role generally try not to vote in a tie.

:suspish:

You are straw-manning my questions for no reason. Of course I don't think discussing results is suspicious.

But sure, I'll include you. I think having three people jump in and defend people on the loop wagon unprompted is weird. I think the way that Ambray, Tranq, and you worded it is weird. I, myself, do not see the lynch as reason to suspect the Loop voters. But I wouldn't say that unless asked, or if there were people campaigning to lynch the Loop voters. It's a non-statement, a dismissal of an argument that wasn't being made. And it's not hunting.

So I'm opening up a line of dialogue/pressure/suspicion on Tranq and Ambray, and your mother bear instincts have included you.

What prompted you to defend the Loop voters?

You and i clearly have different viewpoints on neutral roles. Although, really, imho, it depends on who has the role and how they're going to play it. I don't remember Timmer in a neutral role off hand, so unclear.

And my view of the neutrals in this game is colored by the fact that they are all baddie characters on the show, other than Spike who starts evil and becomes good.
Oh. See, I didn't know that they were baddies on the show.

All I know is that they need Glory dead, so we share a win con, and they don't need us dead, nor we them.

But I guess they could win with the Vampires... :shrug2:

A. No, I didn't. It is, quite frankly, aggravating that your biggest line of suspicion toward me is something that never happened. it is doubly frustrating that everyone is buying it. It is triply frustrating that Lapluie is actually doing the thing, and you're so deep in the tunnel that you'll stick with me.

Bold assertion. Why?
Let me rephrase it into what I thought I saw:

"I don't know how to read chuck because he always looks the same, so maybe he's not bad, but he's a good player so I'm gonna kill him. Don't blame me if he's town."

I can be a scary town player too. But yes, you probably know that already.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Day 2)

I would like the people that suspect me to give me a reason, then reference the post that gave them that reason. Because all I see is a bunch of bullcrap, and this will be the first time since I joined the syndicate that I have been lynched for no reason whatsoever.

If they cannot follow the above instructions, I ask that they move their vote to someone they have some legitimate suspicion of.

Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: At the Hellmouth (Day 2)

I'm done. I don't have time to defend against arguments that don't exist, and I apparently can't start up discussion toward lynching someone else without getting suspected.

I recognize Nutella came in and gave some reasons that I'm supposedly bad. The tone of the argument she gave has me waffling on my read of her, even if her arguments are full of it. I regret nothing that I have done in this game.
That's my meta. I never get suspected early in the game when I'm scum. Why? Because I know what I'm doing when scum. This is going to keep my meta rock solid, looks like.

SVS has left me no avenue for escape. There is probably scum on my train.

Good luck with the nightkills, because the only thing you're going to get with your lynches at this rate is shot in the foot, over and over again.

I leave with one concession, toward nutella and S~V~S. If you somehow back off and let me live this one night, I can townfirm myself to you without claiming.

Strong Townreads: Sig, Kylemii
Light townreads: Macdougall, Lorab, lapluie

I don't think that I believe that you're Willow, which is the only role that would make sense.
Yeah if this is what he's claiming he's full of shit
That is not what I'm claiming.

But Kyle sowed enough doubt that I am a paranoid mess.
Generally, people's expectations come from my scum games. Other than this one, name a game I have played town in recently. Name one.

Only Vocaroo comes to mind, in the past half year. And I would have been lynched in that game if someone hadn't townfirmed me.

On the bright side, I'm alive, so I'll get right on that townfirming business. If you're not satisfied, you can lynch me tomorrow. If you are, then mafia can kill me tomorrow. Either way, I'll be out of your hair.

Putting cards on the table; as of right now think Marmot was bad, and I think you are Kyle are his teammates. I had a bad feel about you, but when Kyle came in all willing to do anything to save you including a very strong willingness to fry civvies who have been playing hard and contributing, it meant one of two things to me, and i don't believe the civ explanation at all. Had Kyle stayed out of it, it is likely I would have moved my vote after Nutella did. As for who is Glory, that is hard to say, a smart indy/sk plays it like a civ. Several people could be that role. So I only have two baddie reads, becasue I think there are two baddies and an SK left.

And before anyone makes any inferences, I have no info, I do not have an info role. Info cannot be trusted in this game in any case with Caleb being able to screw with info results on any given night. With Faraday gone, they are slightly more reliable, but in any case, I have no info.

And re your reputation, you misunderstand me. It is my understanding that you are a pretty competitive guy. People like that tend to try harder to live as a civ than as a baddie becasue it tanks your cred in further games if you make heartfelt pleas as a baddie. I know this from experience, having tanked my own cred in this fashion more than once.

I am pretty much going to stay out of here until it is day again. If you are civ, I wish luck to you in the night.
That was 2 scumreads. Not what I asked for. Maybe nutella has better.

Also, you clearly don't understand me.

I don't DO heartfelt pleas. I hate them. Heart and empathy have no place in mafia, only anger and righteous determination and logic. Go look at my play in MK Mafia today, where I am also in danger of getting lynched, and tell me that I make 'heartfelt pleas'. I ask no one for pity or for unfounded trust, and I don't expect any.

That's not to say that I don't try to be persuasive. Look at my strong wording above. That was on purpose. That's how I try hard.

My plea this game was based on logic. If you determine my towniness to be insufficient tomorrow, you may totally kill me.

linki: I'll get to that in a second.

About the best result I could have asked for, unless speed was bad but I think the post implies otherwide though I'm not really sure? Anyway he was saved somehow. (Btw everyone, remember that speed was in the lead because of the penalty vote, the tie was just between DF and me for second place and I was the lucky winner.)

Speed my scum reads depend on whether I think you are civ. Like I'd say you, Kyle, and maybe even sig otherwise, but they are civ if you are. I guess my alternates could be... hmm... Nova, Ambray, and uuuhhhhh gosh idk maybe rabbit but those all feel like extremely vague reads
Huh. Didn't realize I was in the lead. Thanks.

Hm. I'll look into those three then.
