I for one requested fighter/knight because I like the sound of those roles. Can imagine that others with a similar initial bewilderment also just randomly picked stuff.dunya wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2018 11:41 am I wonder if some people realized what roles they were assigning other players. Specifically: Epi giving sig Wyvern Rider, nutella giving TSP Shaman, and JJJ giving gwilikers6 Monk.
I ask this because, honestly, I misunderstood my role when I asked for it. I thought it was a straight out cop role, but it feels more like another one of those role cops made less significant / bastardized when you have townies from badguyia and scummies from goodguyia. :-/
Those three roles are the most offensive scum hunting roles we have.

@ColinIsCool
@DrWilgyl
@Iron_Dwarfl
@lapluiel
@rabbit8l
@rundontwalkl
These individuals have not named their four hypothetical teammates. I would like to hear them by tonight.
Let's get this out of the way. I gave a heads up that I would be out celebrating carnival, a huge event in the south of the Netherlands. This meant I was out drinking alcoholic beverages, catching up with old friends IRL and without the ability to browse the internet as I didn't bring my laptop. Regardless of whether I am town or scum, I would have behaved in the exact same manner. My lack of posting is entirely due to this, so it would feel unfair to make anything more out of it.

Random tidbits about people. If people want me to elaborate on some, please say so.
MacDougall - Feels shady, but he had the problem of being away on vacation so may not have the time to properly explain himself
Dragon D Luffy - Feels shady, like throwing bits around and see what sticks
rabbit 8 - He is quiet and didn't have a valid excuse to be so
epignosis - His behavior feels a bit off
Long Con - Feels like he's flipflopping a bit on his reads
rundontwalk - #ballstothewall
As much as day 1 is the traditional crapshoot, I will go with voting Dragon D Luffy for now.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 1]
From the start it seems you were mainly fishing for others to step up and talk. This makes you harder to read.
Then you went after Colin, but my read on him is that he's town. And now you've changed gear.
You also are doing this gambit with your misdirect power. If you indeed have it, why use it on day 1 when cases generally speaking are based on less solid foundations than later in the game? It feels like a waste.
You are also quite silent about nutella, who at the moment is the one most likely to be lynched.
I don't really know what your end game is with all these actions. Feels like sowing fear, uncertainty and doubt.

Epi's gambit just feels like unnecessary risk to me. Why are you so adamant on continuing with it? Just because you are curious?Dragon D. Luffy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 7:17 am I'm on Page 34 and I hate the discussion about Epi's exercise. Hate it hate it hate it.
Can you guys be just a little patient and let him finish it so we can judge whether the results are good or not? If they are not you can vote for him all you want. But voting him now because you can't see the usefulness of something that has been advertized as having a hidden goal is moronic. Voting for him because he is risking being night killed is triple moronic. For all I know this exercise could end in day 1, when every active player answers it. Or he could be night killed, but then that means he was... a civ?
You don't lynch someone to prevent mafia from killing them, that's almost as bad as the idea that a civ has to resign themselves to get lynched.
If Epi is a wagon I will make whatever vote is necessary to prevent him from being lynched. Because right now my curiosity wants me to know how this exercise ends.

Dragon D. Luffy is still on my personal list of suspect people. But I will UNVOTE DRAGON D. LUFFY.
Epignosis is playing this strange game with us and awfully silent about the nr. 1 in votes. And insisting on a changing list of people he wants to lynch instead, while there is no momentum around either of those.
Therefore:

Voting for him because he is risking being night killed is triple moronic. For all I know this exercise could end in day 1, when every active player answers it. Or he could be night killed, but then that means he was... a civ?
You don't lynch someone to prevent mafia from killing them, that's almost as bad as the idea that a civ has to resign themselves to get lynched.
If Epi is a wagon I will make whatever vote is necessary to prevent him from being lynched. Because right now my curiosity wants me to know how this exercise ends.
What does it risk?

I still haven't really heard Epignosis talking about nutella.

People were tossing around the word salad a lot earlier in the thread, all these comprehensive (rainbow) lists should be seen as salad too then to be consistent.TonyStarkPrime wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 1:19 pm

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 1]
No lynch is a surprising outcome to me. Epignosis was not entirely truthful about his powers, but I guess this was some sort of crazy gambit as I already pointed out earlier. Still wondering why he chose to execute the stop, because people were building cases on nutella and Quin. Sure, it may be better to not lynch on Day 1 because a civ is more likely to be targeted, but as far as Day 1 cases go it was more than nothing.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 1]
About Epi's poll. Personally I picked the 4 because I know them from RYM, the motivation was to get the team back together and didn't have a lot to do with strategic considerations. Wondering in how far others did so as well. Plus, the few scum there are in the list can distort it in a significant way already. And lastly, this is all hypothetical and you can't really say that people would have picked those persons when being the don.
Therefore, I don't really see a whole lot of use for the list.

Voted for ColinIsCool in the poll. He feels like a genuine town. Can't really point to anything suspicious in his post history. Better safe than sorry. If dunya is indeed civ, she is a valuable asset, but you still run the risk she might be scum. Leaning towards the former, but it remains risky.

Re: Fire Emblem Draft Mafia [Day 1]
Inclined for now to give Epi the benefit of the doubt because preventing a lynch on Day 1 where civs are more likely to die is a cogent argument. But he remains on my radar.

My point is that this thought exercise is based on shoddy foundations. And this is not comparable to e.g. a political poll at all.Dragon D. This is like when people in real life say polls are meaningless because they didn't get personally interviewed.
There is math here, people. A real mathematical thorem that says when you pick a sample size big enough, you can actually infer things about real life with a controllable degree of certainity.

Also Kites and Mac would pick you over Jay, Kenway might, and Iron Dwarf would pick you both. Only gwilkers would pass on you. Rest would either randomize or didn't respond.

Well I believe that based on my reads I regard dunya as a riskier prospect than Colin. In short, it's hard to get a read on dunya. Her post count is insanely high and because of this she is steering a lot of the conversation. I feel like people are a bit too eager to give her a free pass as (super) town.JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 1:32 pmWhat do you consider the most suspicious thing about dunya?Iron_Dwarf wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 1:31 pm Well I believe that based on my reads I regard dunya as a riskier prospect than Colin. I'd like to point out again that this is a minor concern that makes me put her in green/orange territory. I'm not reading her as scum atm, but she's not out of the woods yet.
