sorry, I'd say that about anyone else in the world (I've even said that in this thread about sprityo and sig maybe when they were all huffed and puffed out about not being chosen to be mafia?) but not Kenway. That feigning ignorance sort of thing is just not his style at all. He'll happily deceive you, but this particular kind of manipulation and lying and fake oversighting is not Kenway.

Yeah mod-confirming townies doesn't sound like Jack's style. My guess is those three roles were secretly destined to start on Goodguyia, no matter who ended up with them. After all I haven't played a lot of Fire Emblem but a *shocking reveal* seems totally in character.

Not that one of them is necessarily bad, of course, since it would depend on how the draft shook out. But I'm not taking those positions as alignment-indicative.

It appears that there are particular roles in Ricochet's army: Paladin and Cavalier. All of those roles now exist in Ricochet's army.

Our alignment has no impact on the role we received, so you can go on believing I'm not confirmed civilian.

4) All townies will be randomly assigned to the nations of Goodguyia, Allyia, Nomadia or Badguyia if their backstory does not specify one. Scum are all from Badguyia. This is mostly flavor but some powers are affected by what country you are from.

So in other words, each player has:
Class = public power
Backstory = claim and secret passive/one-shot power
Country = Flavor signifier (every mafia is from badguyia, not everyone from badguyia is necessarily mafia)
Alignment = what it says on the tin

Also I'll note it never says they're *from* Goodguyia, just that they're in the Army of Goodguyia.

Flavor-wise, FE is one of those games where you start with a small group of friends/prince and bodyguard or something similar, then as you progress you recruit more characters to your team. So I take that opening list of characters to basically be flavor.

Roleplay is fun. Civilians like to have fun too. And the notion of "hiding" is the issue. Am I hiding at all? So often players feature real content in their roleplay, and others ignore or overlook it because they don't look past the surface appearance.
My point was that it's much easier for scum to hide behind roleplay.

You've goofed around a lot under the Paladin guise, I am the greatest this and I am the greatest that and woe all those who are not my subordinates or some shit, and I just want to make sure you're who you claim to be.

From where I'm sitting JJJ has contributes the *most* reads and real content. The signal to noise ratio might be a little higher than normal but there's still plenty of signal there.

I think the premise is that we should accept players to have a high amount of noise due to the specific nature of this day 0, as in, how it forced us to dwell in game mechanics.

Even with that, some players have already made an effort to extract a mafia game from this madness, while some haven't. Jay did, Dunya did, I believe I did.

I have never called someone scum GTH for no reason. I might not have had the inspiration until the exercise, but I'd still be able to qualify the read in some distinct manner. Even if it isn't about the player being read, there'd be a contextual inspiration (process of elimination, treatment from someone else, etc).
Did I say I have no reason? I haven't had the chance to qualify any of those pings yet. I have been met with a group of players firing a salvo of accusations at me. I am sure with the freedom to extrapolate I will be able to explain them. But I would be able to regardless of my alignment tbh.

I do want to. I really do. I just don't have the capacity to do it right now. I have to start packing and cleaning up the house. We have 105 minutes to vacate and I've wasted enough time defending myself.

I am not scum. Nobody would pick me as scum because I come under way too much scrutiny anyway. Go find other lynch candidates and lynch me if nothing good comes out of it.

I will be home in about 11 hours from now. So yes. Though I really don't understand the fixation on forcing me to. I would do a better job creating a case on them from thin air as mafia so the more compelling I am the more likely I am to get civ read is annoying logic. I know this sounds weird but I am sure I have exhibited many civ tells during this process but people are tunnelblind.

Last post on MacDougal for a while, but two things bother me about this post. Green makes no sense to me - are you seriously trying to claim it's better to not ask for reasoning behind reads because mafia is better at coming up with reasons to suspect people? I honestly don't know what to do with this.

Blue bothers me because it's not actually pointing out anything townie he's done, it's claiming he must have done town things because he's so townie, you see, and anybody that doesn't recognize that is tunneling. Ick.

I'm trying to figure out the point of this post and I can't.
He's questioning MacD's sudden scum-read on him, that was given without any previous context after giving him civ credit earlier. I would also wonder what MacDougall's intent with that was had he named me as don after calling me civ. To anyone else, it seems like a sudden deflection of accusations that were being hurled his way.

If you're asking for my thoughts on cbob, I just looked through his posts and I'm pretty neutral on him. Lots of comments on setup and mechanics, which is generally something I look for in scum, but is more understandable in a game like this. I'm not sure how genuine his suspicion of Mac is coming off to me. As I've already said, I find that case to be pretty pedantic, maybe moreso from Jay than from cbob, but still, I don't think there's much to it. There are elements of OMGUS going both ways between cbob and Mac, and of the two, at this moment I'm more confident in Mac being town.

Elaborate? I made a couple comments about 3 players appearing on goodguyia but I've spent a lot less time on mechanics than several other players, why do I stand out in this regard?

What? No. You know 100% you're town. The person you're voting out of self-preservation is somewhat less than 100% to be town. Math says vote self-preservation.

(This argument is strongest D1, because later there are legitimate reasons to potentially allow yourself to flip, but generally speaking keeping a town body alive is never a bad thing)

I was just about to post something along these lines. That would be beeeeautiful! Something a player could call on as an auto-post in the thread... OR a tally that hangs above the thread like a poll!

FWIW on the boardgamegeek forum (never played there, just creeped a bit for ideas), they have a pretty snazzy bot that handles their tallying. Just as a reference for anybody curious.
