It’s just fancy code names for tone reads
Epi was awkward in his exchange with J and you have good tone
Are you gonna get anything from my alignment out of me developing why a tone is good / bad for me? I don’t even think I can do that tbh, it will turn out to be an incoherent chaining of words that don’t help anyone to read me
I just wanted to throw my suspicions out and let people know who I’m observing. It’s page 2 reads anyway, it’s some place to build from.
I can't tell you what I'm going to get out of anything. I do things so we can all see what happens. Do you not want me to ask you questions?

Your bottom two paragraphs read like you don't want to be part of this conversation. "Don't ask me to explain these things, just accept them." I will read you, one way or another, based on what I can glean from your activity. This is our first real mafia game together. My thing is that I ask people questions. Your answers will always tell me something.tedxtr wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 2:02 amHow’d you twist me explaining why tone reads are holistic and are really subjective into me not wanting you to ask me questions lol. Sure, it's ‘plain’ but it is also the most versatile flavor there is, even more so than chocolate. You can pair it with many other flavors (Neapolitan anyone?) and it’s the perfect base for just about any additional ingredient.
As for this game, I will keep up as best I can. That means that I will read back a page or two at the most when playing catch-up. I drag my feet too often doing full re-reads and I want to play more in the moment this time.
In other words, real life is very busy and my wife doesn’t know that I am playing.

Its versatility is not far behind vanilla’s, and a good creamy strawberry ice cream is hard to beat on its own. I don’t care for it when it has chunks of freeze dried strawberries in it though.

A Day 0 poo fling from Jay is a very usual thing. But since we're here:JaggedJimmyJay wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 2:46 pmAn accusation of you doesn't move you?
JJJ dissing Sloonei is inherently unusual and would on its own power seem to demand some kind of interchange -- one I wouldn't expect to have to press for. You suggested ted was sort of dodging you; I didn't get that impression. I saw him pose a philosophical question of general strategy (i.e. "how much can you really glean from X?") without a dismissive tone. Folks often don't know what to do with your questions, Sloonbeard, it's something that has gotten you into trouble.
Moreover, my initial spark of suspicion came as a product of "do you not want me to ask questions?". That is itself hardly an accusation, but it seems as though you bear some degree of suspicion of ted. That was unclear to me until I asked just now. Clarity is not something I am used to lacking with Sloonei.
Spoiler: show

These two posts gave me good feelings about nutella:
She's right that she says this every game, but the observation I've made is that Town nutella is more casual and flippant about her suspicion of Sloonei, while Mafia nutella can be a bit rigid about it. These two posts in quick succession struck me as merry read-vomiting nutella.

It seems like a big leap to equate "strong reads" to reads that are "thrown out like candy." The latter suggests the opposite of strength. This strikes me as a reverse-engineered basis for suspicion.

Perhaps you are reading strength into other people's reads. I do not believe that I am one of the people this statement is directed at, but I've been faced with this criticism plenty of times in the past. Throwing out early reads like candy is a strategy certain players follow. Those do not need to be strong reads at all.sig wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 3:31 pmPeople are throwing out strong reads like candy?Sloonei wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 3:29 pm I have an additional beef with sig that might be petty and insignificant, but I want to get it out there if for no other reason than to state a philosophical disagreement.

I guess one could argue they're not strong if they're throwing them out, but unilaterally declaring multiple town read without giving much information seems to be giving a strong read.

1) tedxtr is town
2) People who are throwing out "strong reads" "like candy" make sig "antsy"
3A) People are "trying to form a town core", presumably the same ones who made sig antsy a moment ago.sig wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 3:29 pm First they're still leans. Second:
Michelle is mainly based off of gut
Ted is based off previous games this is well within his civ meta. Everything from jumping in, to his semi aggressiveness and all that jazz. Now it's still early easy to fake meta, but I'm confident in those two loans.
3B) Tedxtr is still town.
4) Tedxtr is one of the people who is throwing out strong reads. People throwing out strong reads make sig antsy.
