Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 0]

Yay game! And yay for the No Hinting rule, which I apparently need to have in place. :noble:

This all seems like it will take some getting used to, but I am a fan of capitalism (within reason), so I'm excited to get going!

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 1]

I can see both sides of the issue, but I think Keys has the best point. It's better to be a vanilla civ (or one with a BTSC partner) than part of a small team with no kill.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 2]

I don't think it's necessarily suspicious to say someone seems civ in the early game. I do that a lot, meaning that the player in question hasn't pinged me, so I tend towards thinking they're civvie. Epig is also a player I tend to default to thinking of as aggressive civ anyway (except in Doctor Who where I called him being Cyber all along :noble: ), so I don't have any reason to suspect the people involved in this little kerfuffle.

Also, $60 for the Protect.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Night 2]

I feel like this Epi/LoRab thing is probably civ/civ, but in this game I'm not sure how much those distinctions even matter.

I, too, am wondering why Keys said he hoped FZ would flip civ. Did I miss somewhere where he explained it?

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 4]

It is pretty suspicious that Hedge survived, and she's not doing much to make me think she's civvie (which seems unlikely anyway).

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 5]

I don't know about Boogs. He's reading genuine to me, so I don't want to do anything rash. I don't have a read on TH, but I need to do a reread before the poll closes.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Night 6]

Sorry I missed it again! But I finally get some time off the middle school next week, so I should be around more.

RIP Llama. I didn't feel him being suspicious. Tomorrow if I have time I'll do a read on TH and see if anything stands out.

Long Con wrote:Both DFaraday and Nijuu seem to have had enough money to survive landing on a red hotel, provided neither of them have bid and won for anything substantial.

DisgruntledPorcupine, however, landed on Luxury Tax, so he didn't make any money by passing GO. At a base $1000, paying $1050 should have killed him. Granted, he probably made some cash from people landing on his property, but if he made any bids that he won, then it becomes suspicious. We'll have to look into that.
I haven't won anything this game. :p

If DP is one of the more expensive properties I could see him having racked up enough reserve if people have landed on his, but it's hard to say.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 8]

I only survived because I never buy anything. I haven't been keeping up as fully as I should be, but I'll go back and look at TH's posts before deciding today.

I tend to get suspicious of people who keep saying they will read the thread and never end up doing it. Hedgeowl did this in Doctor Who for days.
Actually, each time I forgot that I had meant to reread you. :p But now I have, and I do think you're pretty genuine. The case seems circumstantial at best. I'm not sure whom I will be voting yet.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 8]

I don't feel compelled by the case on TH, so I'm not voting that way. Having said that, I think LC is probably alright as well.

I will vote for Dego, because I can't remember him posting anything really, and Ninja, because one of us has to have a shady reason for survivals, and it's not me. :p

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 9]

This does look rather suspicious for both TH and Bea, but it seems that Bea has a fairly good explanation for her survival.

Why does it look more suspicious for them then it does for you? You also survived a Hotel iirc.

And just throwing this out there~ I did not get a PM from boo saying I got the property I bid on yesterday. So not sure who did. Maybe my last bid was too close to the end?

Linki~ it is possible. I certainly don't think he is the last unaffiliated civ.
Quite right, and my survival is due to my never buying anything.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 9]

Turnip Head wrote:First of all, I'm confused, because I should have won Baltic and Mediterranean but I got neither. After the official bidding period closed with no bids placed, I placed $1 bids on the properties at 4:22pm PST, and no one outbid me within 30 minutes of that post. The next bid was MM at 5:05pm PST. So... I should have those properties. If I had, I would have placed my three little houses on them now.

I'm also confused as to why I stopped rolling after getting doubles, as has been happening all game. I landed on a hotel and stopped there for some reason, when I should have had another roll.

Anyway,I guess it looks pretty bad for me. I bought some houses, and then the pinks upgraded to hotels. Interesting that this warrants me being lynched, since it's the first evidence that clears me of being WW or a RR. And as LC astutely pointed out, all but one of you is in an LMS group yourself. So why do we continue to play this little game when we all know it has moved to the next stage?

Image

But go ahead, vote me for being LMS just like you! :)

I'm still interested in finding baddies, and I think I found one. Ladies and gentlemen, I believe SVS is Water Works.

My suspicions started when she out-of-the-blue called me out as being LMS when accusations were flying that I was Water Works or Railroad. She cited my being upset at splintsy's accusation of me being a railroad as indication that I was LMS, which is a connection that doesn't really make sense. For what it's worth, SVS began calling me out as being LMS on Day 7. The houses on the pinks showed up on Night 7, which means the pinks probably gained full BTSC on Night 6 and into Day 7, right before SVS's accusations of me started. Also keep in mind that Water Works has known my role since Day 1. Also keep in mind that SVS had actually DEFENDED me and my behavior right up until Day 7 when she started saying I was LMS. Then she cited my reaction to the railroad accusations as reason to think I'm LMS, which again, is a very tenuous connection and perhaps one a baddie would try to make to justify the knowledge they gained behind the scenes.

So WW has known my role since Day 1. You know who else Water Works knew the role of? Bass_the_Clever.

Here's SVS's reaction to Bass' death:
S~V~S wrote:That's interesting; I was getting the feel that bass had a team, so shrug:.
That's a guilty looking post, IMO. One a killer would make to justify her choice.

As my last piece of evidence, SVS only made ONE post on the subject of BWT on the day he was lynched. It was a big post, she brought up multiple people (the kind of thing baddies do to bury the suspicion on their own teammate)... and when she got down to the BWT section of her post, she cited suspicion of him but also defended him in the same breath. It's the kind of doublespeak you tend to see from baddie partners. In her next post, 4 minutes later, she votes for MM over BWT.

So there's my case. You're almost all in LMS groups right now, so if you want to vote me out because you think I'm in an LMS group when almost everyone in the game is guaranteed to be in one, go for it. People have wanted me dead all game for a variety of reasons so I wouldn't be surprised or angry. But if you'd rather vote for a baddie today, and get rid of the one person who can learn your role and then kill you to take all your cards, I think we're much better off lynching SVS today. Let the baddies kill me at night, they will have to at some point anyways. And I still have my protect, so maybe I can get them to waste an NK in the process ;)
That is an interesting case, so I would like to hear SVS's response. Having said that, it sounds a bit as if you're saying "I may be LMS, but she started as a baddie." As far as I can tell, once you become LMS, you might as well be baddie to everyone else.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 9]

First of all, I want to seriously apologize to Boo for how terrible I've been this game. I keep forgetting every poll deadline and it's making me an abysmal player. I'm going to start voting earlier just to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Secondly, I didn't see that coming at all. I probably would have voted for her because it does seem pretty clear that TH is not WW and there was a chance SVS was. I didn't expect railroad, though. Great result!

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 10]

Even if, as you assume, I am a railroad, I think everyone should think about who the real threats are. At this point, everyone who is not your color is your enemy, and I'm not one of the guys who've been hoarding special abilities. I have no tricks, no allegiance, and let's face it, no real strategy (I'm really off my mark this entire game).
