Won't that just "kill" anyone wanting to bid on property however? If you know you will just be NK'd for it?
The only way to get around it would seem to be bidding at night and then selling it to someone else. But then you'd have to be vocal about it being gone. Idk, this seems like a tricky way for baddies to get all the lynched properties as well.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 2]
I cant imagine any baddie actaully doing that though. Its a good thought not bidding, but what baddie would out themselves that way. Another thought would be to bid last minute so you cant be nkd for the card that night and then sell it as LC said he would do.FZ. wrote:Asking again:
What happens if no one bids on a property?
Because if we decide we don't bid and baddies do, we know they're baddies, and if they're too scared to bid on them too, they don't get them?

Epig seems to be down the most, at -$500, from his big bid on the Chance card (will you let us know when you use it, Ep? Are you using it yourself or someone else? Is it Chance or Community Chest that can send you Directly To Jail? That would be funny.) Then Hedgeowl seems to be down $375, which I believe was the price she paid for the Windfall.
Ha, I just thought of another reason Epig could give for the early big bid. Maybe the baddies will consider him 'closer to bankruptcy' and avoid wasting their nightkill on a player that is so much closer to death.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 2]
I will be one more person to say that that is definitely Juliets style and it makes her baddie game incredibly hard to read. I have fallen into the same stance on her style in earlier games and convinced myself she was bad. I won't claim to read her perfectly either, but as of now I don't overly distrust her.HannaK wrote:I am inclined to believe FZ because back in the day I sorta played the pity card when I was civvie as well when I felt overwhelmed with the game and everything, plus it is also an indicator FZ doenst have BTSC.
The person I am mostly looking to right now is juliets, now I am nor familair with the style juliets normally plays, but looking through the posts I find it weird that most of them are either questions directed at other players who they find suspicous without really contributing anything substantial or info about votes and/or money. To me this feels like a good baddie tactic, posting without revealing too much about yourself so I am gonna go ahead and vote juliets. I'm not 100% convinced but so far this has spiked my baddie-sensor the most.
TH brought up an interesting point on LC's specific knowledge, but it is also what I understood from that descrption.
I am finding Lorab's case on Elo the most interesting currently. Especially with RR teammies being unknown this early in the game it is hard to find evidence to "saving." However. It was such a slip-up that teammates might have feared losing him.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Night 2]
I think it might be time to take this conversation on tone to PM and out of the game. Even though it is so far a very unheated and more thoughtful discussion. I will say that in my experience this forum is actually strict about offense and rudeness in games and a lot goes on behind scenes to deal with these issues as they come up. I think many of us can remember specific examples of this. In my experience both Epi and Lorab can be forceful players with strong opinions. I think you both bring a lot to any game even if we play differently and enjoy playing with you both.

Not sure who I will vote yet, but I don't like this punishing people for powers either. I think it's important to note for the future, but I think thread evidence is also more important. I don't find MPs case against LC and Llama compelling, because I really can't see llama playing that way. He is definitely more devious than that.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 3]
Alright, I caught up on the BWT case from Epi and I do find it more interesting than the llama/LC thing, which I don't buy atm. I don't know how to read Boogs this game, but his determination to get LC does not make me feel good about him necessarily. Currently I think the opinions put forth on BWT are the most interesting, but it seems like there are to arguments. One that he is utility and one that he is railroad. I am leaning utility as of now, but we will see.

Wow, that is a seriously awesome result. Epi I applaud you sir for your astute observations.
Welcome back to everyone replacing!
I am admittedly gun shy about bidding on properties, especially baddie properties at this point. I don't think I will be participating tonight. Completely forgot about bidding on powers last night in my catch-up.

Wtf BO! Why did you want to kill me? I have nothing for you! I am going to keep my $100 from Community Chest thank you very much.
I do know how I survived to those who have asked. Having friends in high places helps. However, I don't fault anyone for suspecting me otherwise and would do the same honestly.
I am preparing for the arrival of guests and another toddler, but should be back to discuss more tonight and tomorrow night. I haven't really read llama's case on TH in depth yet, but find some of Epi's points on Boogs interesting, I just don't know that I am as deeply convinced by them as he is.

Re: Monopoly Mafia [Day 4]
Sorry everyone I am at a conference all day, but it looks like it doesn't matter anyway.
I was trying to say that I had found a friend aka a btsc partner and that's how I survived without outing anyone specifically.
With 3 railroads left and three days of searching I'd assume at least two of them have btsc. With possibly one left on their own, the odds of that being the one person targeted seem really low to me. I also helped vote Made out because of his obvious slip and was a b idder on his property until it was pointed out that could be dangerous for survival.
However, the way this game works out there is very little incentive for anyone to save a civ as many LMS groups are already forming or complete.
I won't be back till this evening.
