Re: Random Questions Game
I am a Hobbit...5'4", fond of food and drink, and not prone to adventures!
But if I had to cite two things in my life that may be considered adventurous, they would be these:
One November several years back, I chased down a purse snatcher. He nearly knocked me down as he ran past me. The chase took us through some woods and into a nearby neighborhood. Somehow, the police had been notified, and moments later, the perp (and I and another fellow) were surrounded by squad cars. He told police that he'd found the purse in the woman's restroom (to which I had to ask, "Okay, fella, what were you doing in the women's restroom?"). Then I had to fill out a statement.
But I think delivering our third son at home was the most adventurous thing I'd ever done. For months I learned how to monitor heart rates (mother and child), measure cervix dilation, handle abnormalities, etc. My wife went into labor at 7pm on a Tuesday, and while she cleaned the house, I watched Jeopardy. Late that night, when the contractions got bad, I massaged her back for two hours. We tried to take a nap but couldn't. Around 4:30am on Wednesday, she got in our garden tub, and at 5am, a child was born: A healthy baby boy! Mama got to cut the cord this time.
In fact, just last night we watched the episode where Kate has to deliver Claire's baby, and my wife and I had to laugh at how upsetting and complex they were making it out be (and, as it happens, putting more stress on the mother by not staying calm).
What's your favorite flower?
