Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 2
TheFloyd73's vote for BUGLABUSH stands out to me. Matt F brought up his vote here:
Looks to me BUGLABUSH's post was a response to getting a vote from a2thezebra:TheFloyd73 wrote:Anyone who votes for someone wth the excuse "he bad" is more than likely scum. Perhaps he's trying to (very vaguely) convince us that Zebra's scum.Matt F wrote: However, I do have a question for you Floyd. You invited your friends to play in this game, yet you voted for Bug on Day 1. Why?
At this stage, I'm not convinced that Zebra is on one specific side of the (civ-scum) spectrum (in other words, I'd call him neural). I'll need to re-read his posts.

Floyd, i went through your posts, looks like you started playing mafia roughly 1 month ago. What do you mean when you say "a vague reason is always a suspicious reason"? The always part. This doesn't seem like something a relatively new player would say.TheFloyd73 wrote:I was only able to get a quick glance at the thread, I didn't have time to make a post because I was going out somewhere.juliets wrote:Floyd, you were online this afternoon at 3:32, an hour after Tranq made this post and after I made mine. How exactly can it be elaborated on? I do know BUGLABUSH in real life, but I'm still going to treat him (and the other people I know IRL) like any regular player.
My point is that a vague reason is always a suspicious reason.
I'm feeling ok with a vote on Floyd today.

As for my Group 1 vote, i like Golden's lie detector theory on nutella and TinyBubbles so that might be something worth looking into.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 3
@ Golden: I'm looking into your TinyBubbles suspicion. Am i correct in understanding it boils down to the following?
- Her randomly mentioning Timmer on Day 1 (but not because of Timmer's death)
- Her answering the are-you-civ question with a statement that cannot be lie detected (but not because she didn't simply say she was civ)
Note in RM4 she didn't say she was civ either. She made a joke, but it was a joke that could've been lie detected:

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 4
I could move my Floyd vote to Luke.
Not alot to go on, but here's what i get out of his posts. This is Luke's first game. He has asked 3 questions so far:
1.
2. and 3. are the same. Both Sorsha and Typhoony had asked Luke questions which he seemed to have missed. This shows Luke isn't paying alot of attention and isn't reading every post.
When it's time to vote, Luke references other players' points which indicates he does read the thread, but he never questions the players he votes for:

Golden, your DrWilgy suspicion assumes the Cabal is responsible for the restarted Night. Why assume this? Isn't it more likely a non-Cabal restarted the Night?Golden wrote:It feels like a new post-juliets dawn where new suspicions need to come forth.
I have two clear thoughts so far. The first is that I can see a scenario where Dr Wilgy is bad and on the Cabal and they set up his 'death' knowing the night wouldn't count for cred. My impression from TH, and it was backed up somewhat when I asked about it in the thread, is that this is exactly the kind of gambit Wilgy would enjoy. It seems up his alley.
The second is that I get the feeling that tranq may know more about his death than he can expressly say. I get the sense that he has been honest in his suspicions about who killed him. Tranq, you may have answered this already, but do you know why/how you came back to life? I don't think Tranq is on the circle of decay, and he was killed by the Cabal, so that would seem to clear him... unless the Cabal wasted a kill knowing he would rezz (for cred reasons). Which seems unlikely to me.
So, I might vote floyd to see if tranq is right.
I'm going to listen to what people have to say about others too.
I voted Floyd this morning. Again. Looking back, i've suspected him since Day 2 A combination of his thread behaviour (rather than summing them up, it might be faster to simply go through my posts, im feeling lazy) and map related reasons (one other player should get what i mean) is why i think he specifically killed me.
What are your thoughts on Timmer right now?

Bass_the_Clever wrote:I think the 2 lynches is an amazing tool for the civs to use the only problem I'm having is it's still early in the game and we could loss two civs. We have to also think about the mafia knows what is going to happen with the vote tonight before they kill so they could use the kill to throw more chaos into this up coming Lynch. That's why at this point it makes more sense to use non changeable votes.
All of which basically boils down to the following smiley:Bass_the_Clever wrote:I never thought about it like that.Tranq wrote:@ Bass: Even 10 lynches in a row are better than having only only lynch. The point being that we basically skipped a Night phase in which the mafia could've killed.

Feral Pixie.

Typhoony pretty heavily defended a baddie teammate aapje in rabbit's Sword of Truth game. Ofcourse the case on aapje was absolute bullshit, involving fake infoclaims etc, but yeah. I don't think he was a member of the Cabal. Actually, going through his posts based on the assumption he was Circle of Decay might be a good starting point to lynching one of them.S~V~S wrote:I want to reread Typhoony today. His behavior was very unexpected to me; even if he had not been killed by Witherdeath, I didn't think he was Juliets teammate; I have never ever seen Typh defend a teammate; I think I am more interested in what he did not comment about than what he did during the whole Juliets thing. I also need to reread Timmer & the whole "confession" thing.

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Night 8
I don't recall the exact timing of his baddie-to-civvie recruitment but the point was Typhoony has atleast once heavily defended a (former)baddie teammate beforeS~V~S wrote:If I recall correctly. he had already been recruited by me when aapje got dumped on. Typh was a civvie at that point, and oddly I was helping him work hard to save aapje since his death would make the other bad group too powerful. So let's split this on 50/50 nub Tranq
That game still gives me headaches from time to time...

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 9
A quick search shows you have only mentioned Wilgy once before here:fingersplints wrote:Lorab - I agree it's good to be wary when dealing with tricky hosts, but I truly believe in this case the feral pixie is good. Nothing I can see from role descriptions or any messages has made me feel otherwise. I also agree with you about the Wilgy situation. It's always good to consider kills and teams, but I always think it's safer to vote who you are most confident about regardless. I've seen too many games where an obvious baddie gets away because we kept putting off lynching them until too late.
What are your thoughts on Wilgy? Do you suspect him?fingersplints wrote:Dr wilgy had two votes (one of which - golden - talked of voting me) so self preservation again makes sense. Why shouldn't I vote to save myself Dom?

Re: Mafia: A World Reborn Game Thread - Day 9
Quick thoughts while going through Typhoony's posts based on the assumption he was Circle of Decay:
Voted Buglabush (Draconus) Day 1. Given the closeness of that lynch, i don't think Typhoony and Draconus are teammates.
Turnip Head made a case on Typhoony and they went back and forth here:

I don't think Typhoony and Turnip Head are teammates.
His thoughts on Timmer:
Night 5 he argued quite a bit with HB. I don't think Typhoony and HamburgerBoy are teammates.
I'm not sure how much this helped. This is an assumption, he could've very well been civ or indy

I have no read on this.Typhoony wrote:I don't think Golden's case against Timmer is strong. So Timmer was in the vicinity of two kills. Ok.
I don't really like Timmer's responses, especially when it comes to the item thingy, because he himself very much implies he had something to do with it. But that seems to be pertaining the Epi kill, which seems to have happened toDay, not last Night. It's not enough to make me vote for him.
