It's hopelessly human, both inside and out
A joyous occasion, no reason to doubt
It's easy somehow, what once was elusive is calling me now
What means this, Speedchuck?
Lost in translation - we can't easily communicate
hopelessly human - Sig is not communicating because he's human. He may not be able to defend himself with the limitation. ALSO with 'human' referring to Sig's genuine-ness. Sig is acting like himself. He's human, flawed but genuine, and is acting normal. It's hopeless to expect him to be anything but himself.
THUS
no reason to doubt - Sig hasn't given us any strong reasons to consider him town (outside of his meta), and he can't start now because limitation
it's easy somehow - this lynch is being piled on with no resistance whatsoever, at a time where votes are our best communication. Sig is also the easiest mislynch in most of the games I've played. He's been mislynched on D1 in at least one of the few games I've played with him, and from what I hear, multiple times before that.

Those are my full thoughts of course. I was trying to at least get across that nobody could doubt the lynch because we couldn't talk well, and that Sig was too easy a lynch

I mean it's not like you bounced in and single-handedly lynched him all on your own, and I don't think making a case against him by itself was a bad look, but it seems like you're underselling your involvement in the event a little bit.
I came into a game in the worst phase possible and tried to contribute something useful.

lapluie is excused for her suspicions because she hasn't played any previous games with me.

But here's some dunya scum meta for you: scum dunya would have latched onto one of the two bandwagons...three votes each, so easy for me. so painless. I could have built cases and made it seem like an informed choice. TSP? Are you kidding me? I could have made a 100 reasons why he was fishy and weird.
You came up with 2 sort-of weak reasons for lynching Sig. If there were 100 reasons to lynch TSP, why not lynch TSP? And what DO you think of TSP?

that wasn't really what i asked. i already do see it that way. you came in and made lemonade out of lemons, then 6 other people drank that lemonade and followed a similar recipe for their own lemonade. then someone died, I guess, which doesn't really fit the lemonade metaphor really(?) but it strikes me as weird that your response is "everyone else contributed to the lemonade just as much as me" rather than like.... "sorry, i guess that lemonade recipe wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be, my bad"
Well, I mean, they drank it before making it. If it tasted like crap, they shouldn't have swallowed.

Pirates, Mountains and this one. I already mentioned that. I town read him in Pirates and Mountains ftr (but you know that since you played those 2). I felt he was sincere there in a way he wasn't here.
:sigh: I don't even remember Sig being in those games, TBH.

I'm still wary, but eh. I'll probably find somewhere to move my vote. There are a lot of people that look worse on that lynch than you.

For the record, this is where I'm coming from: My first game here was Phenon Mafia, a year ago. Sig got lynched on D1, for no reason. (I was a 3P there, a terrifying one)
I remember Sig saying that he usually gets lynched D1.
I've been wary of that ever since. When I was scum in Pirates, I voted for Sig D1, right off the bat, to see if I could go anywhere with it. (I just went back and looked)
Every forum has the guy who gets mislynched early on. On this forum, that person is Sig, in my head. Considering that he survived most of the the time you've played with him, you wouldn't have that perspective, so... yeah.

I'm definitely not sure how I feel about this post.

Some odd mixture of TMI, guessing your motive, wondering why you thought Kyle would be better, and being annoyed that you didn't make a stronger case on Kyle if you really wanted that lynch.
I think Mac was good and Kyle is bad. Also, lack of flip sucks. There's nothing else to it.

Ultimately, why did you vote for Mac?
The only good feels I have from Mac came from his hard-nosed style. Then I was told that he was like that as both alignments, so I went back to bleh on him.

Worse than Kylemii. Kyle's tone reads as town, though I'm still not seeing the civvie spark from him that I usually do. He 'shines' more in late game anyway, so I'm willing to give him more time.

I moved my vote from Wilgy to Mac so that I could commit, make a statement. I wanted my vote on the record, to weigh in on the choice even though my vote wasn't needed. Seems like a good thing to do, make my vote worth something on the record.
Ohh I don't like this. Especially those last couple sentences justifying his vote. I don't like it at all.
Back home, baby. Macdougall Nutella JaggedJimmyJay

So I'm going to take you guys on a trip down memory lane, since you want to look at this post out of the context it was in. I had been on Wilgy most of the day, as had a few others. Then the mac train started. And it got big, to 6-7 players. It was at this point that I moved my vote over.

Why did I do this? Why not leave it where it was? My vote was going to do nothing either way!

Untrue.

My vote is a statement of approval. If my vote isn't going to affect the lynch, heck, if I don't WANT to change the lynch, then there's no better place for it than ON the lynch train. I was around, I approved, so I voted. And when asked why, I said the above, in very plain terms. Because I don't consider that to be scummy behavior.

"But speedchuck, you were focusing on yourself! Only mafia care about that. Town care about hunting."
No. Townies put hunting first, other things second. I put my hunting first, and then when I was done for the day, I put down a stamp of approval on the lynch. I put it there for the same reason that I did NOT join the Sig lynch. And when asked, I didn't hide what I was trying to do. This was something I did on purpose, because I thought it was a good idea. Not some timid freaking "better join the lynch so they don't notice my vote" crap.

And for the record, if I stayed on Wilgy, and said that I had done so because I didn't want my vote on the lynch, people could have gotten onto me for that even more. "You didn't want your vote in the pile of mislynch analysis!" No.

The only difference between me and the other people that piled votes on a runaway lynch train, or who didn't vote, self-voted, or sequestered their vote away on an impossible lynch, is that I'm honest about what I'm doing. Go look at all the votes that didn't matter on those days, and ask yourself why those people weren't on a target that mattered, or at least campaigning for it.

Based on personal experience, people who self-vote are far behind townies who don't want to impact the thread.

I've seen one case of a scum DrWilgy self vote, on this site, and RadicalFuzz in the vocaroo, and that's it. But Radical did it out of frustration, no one frustrated Marmot to self-vote. So what's the scum motivation for it?

Hard to put scumpeeps on their toes when the leading lynch has two or three votes.

I honestly think Simon is bad, for meta reasons if nothing else. I advocate that lynch. As far as other lynches go that have 2 votes (really guys, come on), Marmot isn't that bad. Dunya is not a lynch I want to make happen today. Neither am I.

I'm freaking trying. Ask me questions, because I can't catch up like this

Dude, calm down you're not even in the top two for a while. Seems overly defensive.
Trying to lynch Simon instead of dunya. Right now my best defense would be t go away and leave you guys to lynch dunya, but I no longer scum read her

Why is rabbit desperate? Desperate for what?
To save Simon. I still think he was, and that this vote is a bus. But I'veonly skimmed the past 5 pages

Damn straight! We were handed a life line with the last night’s results and we just threw it away. I can’t see any logic voting Dunya over Simon in the first place and now we’re saying that Simon is Town?

I’m kinda glad that I won’t be around to endure this after the next 24 hours.
I don't know, is double targeting a thing in this game? You might be safe.

I, for the record, agree. After a sudden lynchswitch to Dunya, I'm even more certain that Simon is scum.

Somebody tell me why Simon is town after this lynch, because this is weird.

Re: Mortal Kombat Mafia [Night 3]

I'm going to be focusing on FotR Mafia for now. The split focus on today's lynches has been literally killing me, in both games. Expect me to tune in sometime around morning (morning being the beginning of D4)

Or before then because someone is going to mention me and I have no self-control

I'm here to counterclaim this shit.
Overdeep analysis of this:

Jay claiming 3rd party, at first glance, seems to be geared toward not getting nightkilled. Marmot's claim then, true or false, is geared toward doubt of that claim. First we'll talk about one's motives, then the other.

If Jay is town, this is an interesting 3P-hunting technique as well as a smokescreen so that he doesn't get lynched before he can figure out the scumteam.
If Jay is mafia, this is a huge WIFOM gambit to throw everyone for a loop. Not sure how this fits with being taken off of the poll, but hidden abilities abound.
If Jay is 3P, obviously he wants to up his chances of survival. Can't win if dead.

I don't buy that Jay is town after this. He's not treating the role that way.

Marmot, on the other hand, is throwing doubt on that claim.
If Marmot is town, he's trying to make sure that Jay's claim does him all harm and no good whatsoever. He's also being marmot.
If Marmot is scum, he's... uh. Doing the same thing? Correct me if I'm wrong, but this makes a little less sense than the town!marmot motive.
If Marmot is 3P, he's infuriated that JJJ found a way to squeeze past the rules and claim his role, when Marmot would have been the first to do that if he'd known. Legit counterclaim.

Now let's talk about presentation and wording.

We have a lie detector, probably still living. That lie detector can't do much to warn us of things. But if either of these people were paying attention to the lie detector, or wanted their statements to be technically true, then JJJ would be the 3rd party and Marmot would be the liar.
Don't know how much people care about that. Lie detectors in game with claiming, like I'm used to, are scary as hell.

Something to think about.

I don't think Jay is town. Whether he's mafia or 3P depends on how much WIFOM he's prone to as mafia. And, y'know, his role card.
I don't see a good scum motive for marmot, but it's marmot. He could be anything and still do this.

Most likely to least likely pairings of Jay/Marmot, off the top of my head:
3P/Town
Mafia/3P
Mafia/Town
3P/Other 3P?
3P/Mafia
Town/3P
Town/Mafia
Town/Town

nutella wrote: Mon Jan 22, 2018 2:47 pm speedchuck, your Jay/Marmot analysis makes me want to reconsider my read of you, but you haven't said much about anything else recently. Who do you want to lynch today?
JJJ and Simon. XD

I was breaking from mafia all yesterday. Didn't post relevant stuff in Fiddler either.
I still see no reason not to lynch Wilgy. Lapluie I still read as town, and I'm coming around on TSP. I don't know who I want to lynch for sure yet, but Made is a person I'm going to review before EOD, Wilgy is an option, and nutella and Marmot have been thrown around for one reason or another. That pool is a good place to start looking.

So, I have a separate question: What are we going to do about lurkers? Dave and Dom specifically. If we're 2 mislynches away from lylo or mylo, consider me concerned. If there are any town kills, these two along with Simon should be targets if we want a chance to win this.

I think I see what you're saying, letting players who don't vote might be a mathematical risk going into the next few days, but I don't think they're worth using town resources like kills on.... I think if we have those things they should be used on the Jay's and the Simon's of the world. Mathematically it has the same effect of tipping the scales away from the mafia's reach.
I'm not actually talking about vote risk. Or at least, not immediately.

Let's say we mislynch today. Lynch Simon and JJJ next. One more mislynch would put us at MYLO, with no information about Dave or Dom. What then? If one of them is mafia, do we just HOPE that we pick the right one first? With 2 inactives, it'll be harder than ever to POE it down. It's an ugly situation, and one that I'd rather avoid.
Judging by the fact that there's a mafia protective role, Mileena, I have hope that this can be handled. Because unless we lynch straight scum from here out, it is probably going to be a problem.

that said, what do we have on indie-claimy stuffs?

Linki- Dunya's in the game now? who did she sub in for, did she die?

Have we lynched mafia yet?
I want opinions on this post, specifically the four questions Made asked when he came back from a few days absence.
