I think the problem is that "they" is becoming common for unknown third person singular, but it still 'feels' plural. Yeah, I've been wondering that as well. It could be based on which roles die (much more variable, but presents problems if certain players die way more often) or just a set progression. Or it could be random, like "first 5 deaths, one of these 5 roles. Next 5, one of these." Etc. Because there's e.g. 25 prime roles.
