Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 5}
Eh, we can lynch DH later. Best we can do is match with three, and with the votes cast as they are, nobody will back out.
I'm pretty darn certain LC is the last scum. Dunno what'll happen with the nightkill after he dies, but whatever.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 5}
Ahahaha, sorry, nice try, but the entire reason we believe Epi is because he claimed Mike (to a few of us in PM) long before the role list was revealed.Long Con wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2017 8:11 am Um, you guys mean Epignosis, right? Why are you voting me, I'm Civ and Epi is bad. I'm the real Mark, or Mike, or whatever. :nod:
The game turned into one that the baddies can't win as soon as the Role List was revealed in an open claiming game. I mean, maybe if the baddies' fake claims (assuming they have them) were revealed in the list as well, then it could have still been a game. This would have been a lot easier if we could have revealed the Role List on Day 1, really, then we could have all just claimed and lynched them quick and tidy with minimal Civ losses.
If the Role List hadn't been revealed, then Epi wouldn't have been able to jump in and fool you all by claiming my Civ role, and we would have been lynching him. So he absolutely deserves to die today more than I do, in all the ways that count.
lol
What do you mean by this? I can't "return" to you, and I don't think DH could either. My team needs to outnumber the civs to win.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 5}
LC, the best thing for you to do is quit the act, join the rest of us in being totally open, and just go along with DH's plan as it offers you the best chance at a win.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 5}
Epi claimed in PMs in advance.
You refuse to work against the 3P players, which would guarantee a scum loss.
Your whole playstyle right now is saying "I'm not scum" while accepting all of the offers directed at scum and declining all of the offers made at town.
If you are town, vote for nutella or DH. Do it.

Crap, guys. DH could be sparky.
You know what? Next time I play a game based on a movie, I'm going to look at the cast list and RP the crap out of a character that I'm not playing. Just to screw with people.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 5}
Wrong. The best thing for you to do is join the act, because it's funny. What exactly would you have me do differently? Vote for someone else? I... just... can't vote for Mutiny yet because the poll doesn't exist. So I do not understand what you're asking of me here.
And listen to both of you, "Epi claimed Mike in PM long ago, so it's true". Guess what, the baddies got fakeclaims. I claimed Dr Gynde to Dyslexicon at the outset of the game in a PM. If the Role List reveal happened the way it should have, then the fakeclaims would have been included. Instead, it shut down any further Mafia gaming and it's only due to this mutiny thing that the game is still going.
If Dr Gynde had been in that Role List reveal, then we would all be voting for Epignosis today, I promise you that. So don't get all smug and self-assured with a roleclaim by PM, because next time it happens, you probably won't have a surprise Role List reveal to show you how razor-thin your assumptions actually are.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 5}
Epi appealed to speedchuck and I via PM after DH and Nutella publicly declared their intentions. I can't picture Epi doing something like this unless he's 100% earnest about it. That is why I'm voting for Long Con. Plus roleclaim stuff.

Ignoring that, you're still going along with the 3P strategy. If you were really Civ, you'd want to work with Civs and take out a 3P to make this game numerically improbable for mafia to win.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {DAY 5}
So the reason for the odd kill choices were:
LLama and SVS were mafia
Long Con was Mafia
I asked not to be killed until Phase 2
Killing Epi would have put too big a target on the only active mafia
Funny.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to not try and lynch LC?
I mean now I'll either end up with the kill and a 50% chance to win or a mutiny and a 100% chance to win.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {NIGHT 5}
NIGHT 5
154. INT. STAIRS AND LANDING - BEN'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
Raymond clutches a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Next to him is Dorothy, standing perfectly still, and looking straight ahead. Her eyes are dead. All the fight has left her.
They're in front of a dingy apartment, with stained, rusted walls. Raymond steps up close to Dorothy.
He steps back, and starts banging on the door.
A tall, slender man with a smoking jacket and a powdered face opens the door. It's BEN. His voice is effeminate, disarming, and ever so threatening.
155. INT. BEN'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
The apartment is very large. All the furniture is over-stuffed. In the room there is a very much over-weight WOMAN dressed in black and a greasy-looking COUPLE. On the couch, a YOUNG WOMAN plays with a large doll.
Raymond sits down, while Dorothy remains on her feet, still staring into the distance.
The large woman re-appears with glasses.
Ben takes the glasses, and starts pouring out the Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Her sudden interjection, in fact, her first sign of life in the entire conversation, comes as a slight shock to both me.
Ben sighs.
The young woman opens up a door, and Dorothy rushes inside.
Raymond tenses.
Raymond angrily stands up.
Ben smiles.
Raymond sits back down, still fuming. The YOUNG WOMAN creeps behind him.
The young woman gets closer and closer.
BANG.
The young woman puts up her smoking gun.
Bits of Raymond flow around the carpet. His corpse slouches off the seat.
Ben sighs, and sips his beer.
Epignosis has been killed. He was Mike, a vanilla civilian.
Now it's dark.
You have 24 hours to send in night actions, and to vote in the event poll.

Dead. Along with Paul, too. Shit's happened

So, Raymond. Who killed Frank and Paul?
RAYMOND
This fuckin' teenager. Just threw a knife in Frank's goddamn face. But, believe me, you don't have to worry about him. He's been dealt with.
BEN
I know.
RAYMOND
What? Excuse me?
BEN
A teenage boy did this, right? Well, I caught a teenage boy harassing my men during their business hours. Apparently, he thought Frank killed his girlfriend.
RAYMOND
What happened to him?
BEN
The same thing that happened to Frank and Paul. Killed in the most unfortunate circumstances. It was quite a shame, really. He was quite the football player, apparently.
RAYMOND
No, no, no. The kid who killed Frank was named Jeffrey. He wasn't no football player, too big of a pussy.

I think the solution is simple. What was once Frank's business, is now my business.

And where does that leave me?

Of course. A trial that leads to greater opportunities.

Let's do this. Good luck to me or sloonei, whichever survives the night. Hope you get into the final three and trounce the fourth.
Tell ya what: Kill sloonei and not me, and I'll make sure the mutiny goes through if I get in, rather than screwing the game over for you, LC.

But with nut, DH, and myself voting Mutiny, it will go through without your help, right?
The thing is, I don't really know how it works. When it wins, does it randomly go to either me, or the surviving Civ? I don't know!

When it wins tonight, it becomes an option tomorrow. ANYONE who opts in tomorrow gets in. Three of those that opted in are randomly selected. If all 3 say yes, mutiny happens.
If I get in, I promise to say yes. Give sloonei the 3/4 chance of going in, and he might say no. I swear, I will allow the mutiny through.

I think so, but that's if the odds magically give us the mutiny. It would choose three of us out of 5. 1 in ten chance of any particular team. Trust me, I'm a math person.

Or you could kill one of them and improve your odds of being mutinous by a significant margin.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {NIGHT 5}
LC if you kill one of the civs tonight and we lynch the remaining civ tomorrow, then you, me, and Nutella will automatically be chosen for mutiny and enter the next night technically on opposite teams but once we confirm mutiny we win.

Re: Blue Velvet Mafia {NIGHT 5}
Oh, the kill is already sent in.
I was considering changing it to a no-kill, if the three of us could join your team and win. Sounds like there's too much uncertainty involved, so I'll kill one S-name, and we will lynch the other S-name tomorrow.

Different mutiny teams, LC.
And yeah, DH is correct. The kill and lynch can just decide arbitrarily who wins.
