Interesting scores for the final week. Three of the match-ups saw negative points.

Image

And here are the final standings for the season. I held a head-to-head tie-breaker over DH and Epi had a head-to-head tie-breaker over Golden.

Image

Here is the playoff bracket and some expanded details as we roll into the playoffs.
Image

2015 Quarterfinals:

1. G-Man (8-6; NE/PHI/KC) v. 4. Moving Pictures07 (2-12; DAL/TB/HOU)

2. Turnip Head (8-6; IND/PIT/STL) v. 3. DharmaHelper (7-7; BAL/CHI/NYJ)

1. Metalmarsh89 (9-5; SD/ARI/CIN) v. 4. Golden (GB/NYG/BUF)

2. Leggyorlyb (8-6; SEA/DEN/DET) v. 3. Epignosis (NO/MIN/CAR)

TIE-BREAKER DRAFT:
Everyone gets to draft a new team but those finishing with a higher seed draft first. There has to be some advantage to a better record, right? There were ties with the #2 and #3 seed teams' records, so I used NFL draft tie-breaker rules and seeded those slots by strength-of-schedule. Here is your draft order:

1. Metalmarsh89
2. G-Man
3. Leggyorlyb
4. Turnip Head
5. Epignosis
6. DharmaHelper
7. Golden
8 MovingPictures07

Just to refresh your memory, here are the eight undrafted teams we have to pick from:

Atlanta Falcons
Cleveland Browns
Jacksonville Jaguars
Miami Dolphins
Oakland Raiders
San Francisco 49ers
Tennessee Titans
Washington Redskins

There will be a new draft each week of the playoffs. I'm changing up the order of tie-breaking methods. Here they are now:

1. Points For
2. Net Points
3. Total Yards For
4. Passing Yards For
5. First Downs
6. Total Turnovers (fewest wins)

I highly doubt we'll need more than the first two tie-breaking methods, so keep those in mind when picking your tie-breaker teams. We haven't had any ties all season, which makes me doubt we'll have any in the playoffs but you never know.

Metalmarsh89- you're up first! None of the undrafted teams are playing Thursday night so we have plenty of time to make our selections.

Any predictions on those quarterfinal match-ups?

I feel like a paper tiger, what with the weakest strength-of-schedule behind my #1 seed and my insane net points. :puppy:

I will take Jacksonville. After what they did against Indy, I think they'll do well against Atlanta.

Only two scores to report on so far. After Thursday and Saturday, here's the scores in the Baddie Conference:

(1) G-Man 0 - (4) MP07 39
MP's defense has yet to play but both of his offenses have. All three of my teams have yet to play.

(2) Turnip Head -23 - (3) DharmaHelper -16
Both defenses played, so it all comes down to which offensive pairing earns more points today.

Everyone in the Civvie Conference has yet to play.

As a follow-up, here is the final list of our Quarterfinal Tie-breaker selections:

1. Metalmarsh89- Miami Dolphins
2. G-Man- Jacksonville Jaguars
3. Leggyorlyb- Atlanta Falcons
4. Turnip Head- Oakland Raiders
5. Epignosis- Washington Redskins
6. DharmaHelper- Tennessee Titans
7. Golden- Cleveland Browns
8 MovingPictures07- San Francisco 49ers

Here are the scores after the 1:00 games:

(1) G-Man 19 - (4) MP07 29

(2) TH -13 - (3) DH 15

(1) MM89 0 - (4) Golden 0

(2) Leggy 0 - (3) Epi 0

Both Golden and Epi had one offense make up exactly the same amount of points as their defense gave up. They are now both dependent on their other offense to clinch a win.

We'll know the winner of TH v. DH after the late afternoon games. The G-Man v. MP07 game and the MM89 v. Golden game will be resolved with Sunday Night Football. The Leggy v. Epi game will be reach its conclusion with Monday Night Football.

It seems DharmaHelper couldn't find enough help this week. He has been eliminated in a close match against Turnip Head. Here are the updated scores after the late afternoon games (current game not included in these scores):

(1) G-Man 19 - (4) MP07 29

(2) Turnip Head 21 - (3) DharmaHelper 15 [FINAL]

(1) MM89 16 - (4) Golden 30

(2) Leggy 57 - (3) Epi 0

More score updates based on last night's game. The Eagles got just enough for me to beat MP07. If it weren't for their last touchdown, we would have tied but I would have won the tie-breaker. Also, MM89 got a big boost from the Cardinals, so he landed a solid win over Golden the Coward ;) .

(1) G-Man 36 - (4) MP07 29 [FINAL]

(1) MM89 56 - (4) Golden 30 [FINAL]

Tonight's game is interesting. Leggy is up 57-0 over Epi but her Lions defense is playing his Saints offense, so Leggy will lose a point every time Epi gains a point. Carolina's meltdown didn't do him any favors but Epi only needs the Saint to score 29 points for him complete the upset.

Tomorrow we'll start a new tie-breaker draft for the Semifinals.

Epi needed just 29 points from the Saints to get the win but the Saints only gave him 27. Thus, Leggy completes a clean sweep for the higher seeds in the quarterfinals. Three close games and one not-so-close game give us our semifinal match-ups.

2015 Semifinals:

1. G-Man (8-6; NE/PHI/KC) v. 2. Turnip Head (8-6; IND/PIT/STL)

1. Metalmarsh89 (9-5; SD/ARI/CIN) v. 2. Leggyorlyb (8-6; SEA/DEN/DET)

Tie-breaker Draft
Here we go again. All eight undrafted teams are up for grabs again. Here is the draft order:

1. Metalmarsh89
2. G-Man
3. Leggyorlyb
4. Turnip Head

Teams Available:
Atlanta Falcons
Cleveland Browns
Jacksonville Jaguars

Here's a scoring update as of the end of the 1:00 games:

(1) G-Man 31 - (2) TH 35

(1) MM89 20 - (2) Leggy -17

TH's defense is playing right now, so we'll know the outcome of that match fairly soon. Leggy's defense played at 1:00, so she's waiting to see what her offenses produces. MM89's second offense is playing right now.

Once again, Monday night football will determine Leggy's fate. Her Denver offense will play MM89's Cincy defense tomorrow under the bright lights.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATE: Here are the scores after the late afternoon games:

(1) G-Man 31 - (2) TH 18 [FINAL]

(1) MM89 58 - (2) Leggy 0

The Rams couldn't hold the Seahawks enough to give TH the win. I move on to the championship game. The Seahawks did however get enough points for Leggy to pull up at an even score of zero. She has a tall task ahead of her tomorrow night. She'll need Denver to score at least 29 points against the Bengals for her to win. Remember, for every point Leggy earns from Denver, MM89 loses a point via the Bengals.

Metalmarsh won 36-20 over Leggy. I keep forgetting to bring my flash drive home from work, hence no pictures.

The championship match is:

1. G-Man (8-6; NE/PHI/KC) v. 1. Metalmarsh89 (9-5; SD/ARI/CIN)

Metalmarsh gets first pick in the tie-breaker draft. Your move, sir.

Who does everyone think will win?

First, here are the final scores that the eliminated players would have had if they made it to the semifinals:

DH: 26
MP07: 21
Epi: 67
Golden: 19

So, yeah, had the Panthers defense not buckled against the Giants, Epi would be in the finals instead of MM89.

Now for an analysis of today's match-ups. I think it's going to be close.

TOP SEED: Metalmarsh89

Offense #1: San Diego Chargers
The Chargers have struggle mightily as of late against playoff caliber teams. The first game against Denver saw only three San Diego points being scored. Despite Denver locking up a playoff spot, they will be playing their hearts out because they could end the day with the #1 seed if they beat the Chargers and the Patriots lose. The game is in Denver, giving the home team the advantage. This game is likely to hold MM89 back as it is an unfavorable match-up for San Diego.

Offense #2: Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals already have a first round bye locked up but they could steal the #1 seed with a win and a Carolina loss against Tampa. Will they rest their starters or try for the #1 seed? The Panthers-Buccaneers game is on at the same time as this one, so they do not have the luxury of seeing how Carolina fares to make up their game plan. I suspect they'll play their starters the first half and evaluate their chances at taking the #1 seed at halftime. This game is a huge question mark, especially since the Cardinals are playing a playoff-bound team in Seattle. The game is in Arizona though. Still, Seattle is looking for a victory after last week's letdown. The Seahawks haven't been letting up many points lately, so this game is totally up in the air.

Defense: Cincinnati Bengals
This is probably MM89's best bet at securing a victory. The Bengals play the Ravens, who haven't been scoring many points lately. Expect the Bengals defense to be hungry- they can lock up a first round bye with a win and a Denver loss. I don't see many points being let up in this game, which will help MM89 stay in the hunt for the championship even if his offenses underperform.

LOWER SEED: G-Man

Offense #1: New England Patriots
The Patriots pounded the Dolphins in their first meeting their season but I don't expect a repeat here. New England will occasionally only play just as hard as it takes to get a win. This is especially true at the end of the season. They have a bye-week locked up and they can secure the #1 seed with a win. They won't need to try too hard. The Dolphins have scored more than 20 points only three times all season and just once in their last nine games. The Patriots have failed to score more than 20 points just twice all season and Tom Brady is probably still seething after last week's loss. Expect a hard core first half and then the backups will hit the field after halftime. Really, the Patriots backup players could probably win against the Dolphins if they played the whole game. I see the Patriots putting up a comfortable lead and coasting, leaving me at risk of not getting enough points from them.

Offense #2: Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles play the Giants this week. Earlier this season, the Eagles thumped the Giants but that was before the wheels truly fell off of this team. With Chip Kelly gone, what types of plays will be called? Will they even try to win or tank to get a higher draft position? Lord knows they need personnel help after Kelly's trading antics last offseason. Much like the Arizona-Seattle game, this one is a huge question mark.

Defense: Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are on a 9-game winning streak and haven't let up too many points along the way but the last time these teams met, Oakland put up 20 points on the Chiefs. That could be a difference-maker given all the offensive questions this weekend. On paper, this looks favorable for me but the Chiefs could let up more points than I can afford. Frankly, this one is a question mark as well.

Overall, I have no idea who will win. Purely on offense, I think I may hold a slight advantage based on the Patriots having a softer opponent than either of MM89's offenses. I think his defense will let up fewer points though, which has proven to be the difference-maker before. I give a slight advantage to MM89. It should be a close one. Both of my offenses and MM89's defense play in the 1:00 games. His offenses and my defense play the late afternoon games. I'll try to update scores as frequently as possible mid-game all afternoon. I would feel awkward winning the first go at a fantasy league of my own design. I don't want that to turn anybody off. Still got my fingers crossed though. :)

Midway through the early games, G-Man is up 31 to -9.

Honestly not much to look at though, since both of my offenses don't play until the next round of games, as well as G-Man's defense.

I agree. There's no point in analyzing things too closely until the 4:30 games start. I'm not thrilled about the Patriots playing so soft against the Dolphins but I'm not watching the game, just the score ticker at the bottom of the screen. Here in PA we've got the Steelers and the Browns. Hoping to see the Steelers win and Jets lose.

After the 1:00 games, the score is:

MM89: -16
G-Man: 45

Also, the tie-breaker games are over. MM89's Falcons scored 17 while my Redskins scored 34. This means I will win if the regular scores end in a tie.

Now for the late afternoon games! MM89's offenses and my defense take the field. Given the surprises so far today, I'm not resting easy just yet.

Go figure that the top-scoring offense all season long dropped the ball in the final week.

If you have any feedback, please share! What did you like? What didn't you like? What could be improved upon for next year? Is the 2 offense, 1 defense combo good or would you rather it be all offense-based? I'm curious for your input.

I hate to post this at the same time that the regular Fantasy Football threads are active, but the NFL season is approaching and I want to plug this again if enough people are interested.

To keep people engaged all season long, I was considering changing the format. Instead of picking teams in a draft and keeping them all year, I am leaning towards something like EZ Baseball. In this case, everyone picks two teams each week and they get however many points those two teams score. You can only use each team once through Week 16. Come Week 17, everyone will get to pick any two teams they want for the last games of the season.

Anyone interested?
