TE's and QBs are pretty similar in that you can wait a few rounds to get either. For future reference :PRicochet wrote:nah I wanted TE, then QB, got stolen my first TE pick, so picked QB, then TE, then focused on RB/WRDharmaHelper wrote:All you friggen dopes picked RB's Round 1.

Unless you get first pick, then taking a top tier QB is ok. Not necessarily the best, but OK.

Eh, 0.5 per rec. That's not enough of an incentive to refrain from taking an elite RB.

Nah- I looked over the score setup before signing up and didn't recall seeing anything that indicated PPR. It probably didn't register in my head because it's half a point.

I went with half-PPR because in a 14-team league, the RBs like Bell or Forte who catch a lot of passes are insanely valuable and there's not enough of them go around.

Also I almost fell asleep. Woke up at 9 ET dead, logged in and basically went Leroy Jenkins with the drafting.

So I kinda wished I looked over the league rules a bit closer before the draft. I knew we were a .5 pt PPR but I didn't know that our QBs only get 4 pts for a TD....That might've made me wait on a QB a few rds later.

WHo else does Capernick have to throw to (especially when it comes t ored zone targets)??? TE depth sucks and DAvis is just a place holder until Gates comes back from suspension. I figured it was a boom or bust pick: either he returns to fantasy form in which case I got potentially the biggest steal in the draft or he remains average or worse in which case I can search the waiver wire for another scrub TE.

Actually they've got Thursday night games almost all season long. I'm glad I don't do regular fantasy football anymore because these Thursday games probably force you to make your rosters changes much quicker.Metalmarsh89 wrote:Most matches are held on Sundays, with a couple on Monday night and sometimes one additional one on Saturday. Rooster fight? I believe the traditional term is cock fight, which reminds me of a Kings of Leon song/video from before they were Top 40 darlings:

Ah that's right. I forgot that last season I would forget about all the Thursday night games when I set my roster, and get consistantly screwed by forgetting to start a player who played that night or something.

Re: Syndicate Fantasy Football League 2015
The Thursday night game is the start of each fantasy week. The Monday night game is the end of the week. All other games are on Sunday, so that's generally when you need to have your roster set if none of your guys play on Thursday.
Sunday games will either be at 1pm EST (majority of games) 4:25ish pm EST (a few games) and one prime time game at 8pm EST.
Once a player's game starts, they are locked into wherever they are on your roster. Additionally, any undrafted players will be placed on "Waivers" when their game starts. If you want to add these extra players to your team, you need to place a waiver claim for them. Waivers process on either Tuesday or Wednesday, I'm actually not sure, we'll see after the first week. All waiver claims go through and then these extra players become "free agents", and then it's a first come first serve process to add them to your team.
So your routine each week should be something like:
Thursday: check for any players playing, decide to Start or Sit them.
Sunday: Set the majority of your lineup before 1pm games start.
Monday: check to see if there are any players you want to add through the waiver system.
Tuesday/Wednesday: check to see if there are any free agents you want to add.

Re: Syndicate Fantasy Football League 2015
Last night's game was closer than it seemed. Had Pittsburgh made those two field goals and the Patriots not started out with such prime field position, who knows? Then again, Pittsburgh's D was really sloppy. They're in for a long season if they don't straighten things out.
Brady looked so pissed off most of the game. Between that and all the coverage of these scandals, it seems like the league and/or the media is trying to craft the Patriots as the league's villain. It kind of reminds me of the 1986 "Duel in the Desert" NCAA football championship between Miami and Penn State. Miami was this powerful, intimidating team that carried themselves with what appeared to be arrogance and swagger. Penn State was played up to be a virtuous, humble group of kids. Seems like New England is being fashioned by some to be akin to that '86 Hurricanes team.
