That's ok, we're in a transitional phase right now anyway. Probably taking this next week off, since I'll be away early in the week and unable to nail down anything game related, so if you wanted to get in contact after this week to make a character or something lemme know, And feel free to PM me any questions or w/eSpacedaisy wrote:I would like to play this, but schedule-wise I am not sure I will be able to be there weekly.

Ideally, for what I have planned moving forward I'd like a roster of 6 players, nobody has to be available every week.

Sorry for the recent spam, but I've become recently invigorated and I have some very cool ideas for the future of this game that I will hopefully be able to announce soon (within the coming weeks).
I will have MUCH more to say on this very soon, but for now to those of you who've played or watched before, know that my plans for the future are different than what we've been doing, but hopefully will translate to a better, cleaner experience for everyone.

Re: Tabletop Games on IRC - Aces Needs You!
If people are interested, I've been looking at systems, and found one I'd like to try and DM. It's called Dungeon World, it's similar to D&D, but I think it seems a bit more straightforward.
It would just be a one shot (about a 4-5 hour game tops, not multiple sessions long).
I'd have characters ready to go (for about 3-5 players. It can handle more than that, but like any game, people start to get drowned out if you have to many people), and then people could choose which one they want, so most of the character creation would already be dealt with (the things you'd need to fill out would deal with the rp part of the game, which you'd do after everyone has chose their character and you can ask each other questions and agree on back stories).
What I like about this system is that the combat seems like it should be interesting, but the rolling is all very simple, and only serves to further the fiction that the players come up with. You say what you want to do and how, and then you're told the result. I also think the bond system seems like a really good way to help get the rp flowing, and based on what I've read about it from people who have played, that seems to be the consensus (bonds are basically class specific things you fill out about other people in your party. You use them to create things your character already thinks about the other players characters, and then you act on them over the course of the game. When you and the other player agree the bond you have has finished, meaning you've used up the story telling you can do with it, you both get some xp and you make a new bond).
If you'd be interested in playing, shoot me a PM. I'm thinking either a weeknight starting around 5 or 6, or Saturday starting any time after 2 that would work once there's a group set (times are est), if you could include your preference, that'd be helpful.
If it went well, I'd probably be up for DMing a one shot game once a month or so, probably sticking with this system but homebrewing it as we see fit.

Re: Tabletop Games on IRC - Aces Needs You!
If it was just once a month, I could probably do it, since it sounds like game times could be flexible. I really miss Aces D&D games, but even if they started again, I don't have time for that kind of commitment for the near future. I like that kind of setting too more than a more modern setting.
Consider me a very strong possible.

Re: Tabletop Games on IRC - Aces Needs You!
As some of you know, recent events have facilitated a need to shake things up for my game. To do that, I am hoping to host 2 teams of 3 players in a head-to-head style Cold War. The teams would play as Super Heroes recruited or otherwise enlisted by their home countries (Either the USSR or the United States), and each session would be a contained mission for the teams to earn XP and Willpower for their side, while undermining the other side.
I have maybe 5 out of 6 players, so if you want to join up, contact me. I'm gonna start hammering out the finer details as soon as I get strong commitments from 6 people.

I am hoping we may be able to get a game in tomorrow night, so if there's anyone on the fence, please let me know, or if you just want to spectate you're quite welcome to join us (assuming there are enough people, I'd like 3 or more).

There's the roll20 link. If you want a specific class you can choose before we start, just use the tag 'one' to search characters that are options for this session (not using a bard or immolator as choices), and you can get started on it, but we'll be spending time at the start of the session doing that so it doesn't need to be done if you're fine with any class (or choosing the same class someone else has).

You can have it if you do want it, I just haven't looked at it as much as the others yet since it was an added class.DharmaHelper wrote:boo wrote:https://app.roll20.net/join/1455932/foHwrQ

Re: Tabletop Games on IRC - Aces Needs You!
The first dungeon world game ran tonight, and I think it went quite well.
If you would like to play (please send me a PM) or watch, we will be playing again next Thursday at around 5pm est or 6. It's going to be a primarily political intrigue based game, so that should be a neat setting I hope!

Re: Tabletop Games on IRC - Aces Needs You!
Is it going to be politics in a fantasy age or modern? Because for me I have found I don't like modern settings, and really prefer a fantasy setting. It is the main reason I have been skipping the recent superhero games.

Re: Tabletop Games on IRC - Aces Needs You!
This system is always fantasy. There's a similar one it's based on called apocalypse world, but I'm more interested in DMing games in fantasy, so I doubt I'll use that system at any point.S~V~S wrote:Is it going to be politics in a fantasy age or modern? Oh, OK, then count me in. The "political intrigue" thing made me think it was a modern time setting, not a D&D style elves & sorcery setting, which is what I like.

You can choose which class you'd like to play any time before the session, or wait and do that at the start if you don't really have a preference for what you'd like to play. The character sheets can be found by going to the second icon above chat (looks like a memo page sort of), in the second session folder.
If anyone wants to make theirs before Thursday, just pm which character you made so I can lock the editing permission for it to you.
DH and Ace, you may use your existing character if you want, or try something new (I added the bard, since everyone seemed disappointed I hadn't included it).

Re: Tabletop Games on IRC - Aces Needs You!
I had another session tonight, because I was bored and was able to find some people,,including INH. We didn't quite make it to the moon, but it was a good session. It's going to be continued on Monday at 7pm, and I could fit 1 or 2 more people into that game if anyone cares to join us.
And ace and DH, Alfie went and got himself in more trouble, and the orcs you met and helped are trying to make the fishing village their new home, which isn't going over so well with the locals (dealing with them being what we attempted tonight. It didn't really have a lot happen, except for an Orc kicking a player in the head and sending the group running away after letting their thief scout out the camp to figure out their numbers).
