My problem with this is that the setup isn't guaranteed to be balanced, and civilian roles generally aren't useful.

For example: I searched for serial killers.

There were no serial killers in this game...

...except there were two of them, since there was no mafia BTSC, only two independent killers.

I think this would work much better if you killed the werewolf / alien factions and worked it out to where there would be a balanced Mafia / Civilian game.

Apparently most people play it with small numbers. It was originally played in real life, with a deck of cards.

But next time I will attempt one with a lot more players.

No serial killers, and it has a new goo faction instead of werewolves. It also seems to remove most pointless roles.
