There is nothing to gain at all from claiming to be the doctor.

Clearly it's ok nowadays to role claim? Or just for this type of game? I never remember that being acceptable.

I would like to say he's had plenty of time to rebuff it but..haha.

Considering I had 3 votes in the last day phrase and votes got changed, why couldn't he have done something else other than guarantee his death one way or another?

Well if he thought it would prevent a mislynch, it furthers the civ cause and he would still win with the civs if dead (you might not be used to this but in pretty much all games now dead players win with their faction -- then again idk if tranq is used to that either?)
