I'd vote Lunalee but it looks like the poll just closed. Oh well.

I don't think dunya is a legitimate vote option today at this point - or is that not what you meant?

the early defence posts people are quoting - LC re: Colin - are too frigging obvious to be scummate defences and actually make LC look better to me. no one defends that hard early in the game. I'm sorry to do this again, but LC has more experience than being that obvious imo.

The tone of submission later on re: Colin from LC is what I don't like. I wish he kept up that strong defence up actually.

I should look into LC/Colin now. If I see a bigger case there, I'll switch.

She's being talked about but all the votes are going to LC/Lunalee. I just like to keep the votes in the poll distributed so there aren't any runaway bandwagons. I don't expect my vote to remain on her, but I want it there for right now the sake of discussion.

This could definitely be true...

But her push for me came JUST after I voted LC. There is also the little matter of Colin voting for her. For me, if LC is bad, the links to both baddies are definitely there and I don't think they are easily ignored.
Sure. I guess I’m putting forth that LC looks the worst out of himself, Luna and dunya. I can see baddie interactions between Luna and LC, but it’s more circumstantial atm. I want to be right about LC before committing to Luna

I could see Luna being scum, even though I don't have any experience with scum luna meta, but I don't see that post as an indication of being LC scummate? I really don't have time to see exactly when it happened but if it happened during the Colin/Sloonei tie time then she could have been trying to save Colin by placing a vote on Sloonei and forgot what she had said about LC.

I'm actually more inclined to vote Luna today than LC.

(I say that because I haven't looked into LC in depth yet and I'm lazy. I wake up at 7am and have a 2 hour lunch then finished work at 5.15pm then have another meeting in an hour over dinner. fuck my life atm).
The case against LC is not dependent upon Luna being bad. What are your thoughts on the case Scotty (I think it was Scotty...) put forward for LC?

I am curious about it because my assumption is that a scum dunya would cast dispersions on her teammates to scoop up credit later but at the same time it isn't too dissimilar to why I pushed her incorrect lynch in Mortal Kombat. I give her some town points for this observation.
This just is not true and I loathe that you are bringing down my entire scum meta to it when I have done that exactly twice in my entire mafia playing time. Once in Loneliness and Cheese on RYM (a strategic move on my part), and once in FE (because the whole team decided to buss each other). Saying that scum dunya always busses her teammates is incorrect and I refuse to let that stick on me. I have a reputation to maintain, ok?
He did say he ultimately gave you town points.

This is an interesting self-observation. What exactly do you consider bussing? What would you say your own position on bussing is, generally?
Yeah very strange that she took a post in which I was giving her credit and got angry about it. Doubt a scum would do that right? Scum would just be happy to have gotten the town points and let that one go through to the keeper?
I haven't forgotten this point re dunya, which made Mac later put her as top town read. It does feel like a 'townslip', but not definitively.

Sloonei
Why do you feel this way?
If he's mafia, he's not going to announce that to the thread, he's gonna put that in baddie chat to try and get all 3 league members to side with mafia.

If he's a league member, he's gonna ask that on league chat.

Ergo, town.
Does it hurt him to say this out loud if he's bad?

My objective is always to vote somewhere it can make a difference. I don't think there is ever any value in town voting off wagon, no matter how much you might think every wagon is civ. I don't care about breaking the tie - I'd have voted my biggest suspect of the three even if it created a tie.
I think there is a difference in game philosophy coming to light here. Voting off wagon has its benefits and I don't want to spell all of them out necessarily, but one is to apply pressure. I felt that lunalee's conduct was the most suspicious of anyone I'd ISO'd that day and certainly more suspicious than the others. And I would rather put pressure on someone who I think may be scum than kill someone who I don't see a case for. Sorry if you think that's bad play, but that's how it is and how it's gonna be.
How do you apply pressure with 8 minutes left before the deadline on someone with 1 vote ?
The game didn't end after the Day 1 lynch, did it?
Are you implying that you had no attention to lynch her D1 ?
Can I add input here? Sorry if you felt ignored Colin, but Speedchuck gave me some advice last game I played that it is more useful to town to analyze posts and scum hunt than repeatedly defend ones self. That is what I'm trying to do. And yes, I do realize the irony of this comment, but just wanted to throw that out.
This is the first time luna has addressed Colin in a meaningful way. It's an apology for not responding to his pressure. The advice from speedchuck is solid and I don't disagree with it but, another piece of advice for luna: sometimes it's hard for townies to hunt other players if they're not addressing concerns directed at themselves.
This would be a fairly nuanced teammate interaction if these two are partners where luna bluntly acknowledges Colin's pressure while providing a strategic reason for not having responded. It's not impossible but I'm not sure I see it happening between these two.

[this part]If sig's bad, Colin is bad too.[/right here]
explanation?
Colin's post, boiled down

"I have a reason not to vote nova and a reason not to vote epi and... err... there's one specific post about sig that isn't bad and then nothing changed my mind... so I'll vote off wagon"

All while sig is one vote behind.
Sorry it was Colin, not Scotty. Yes very bad look for Colin.
It's a bad look to vote for somebody I'm suspicious of, as opposed to jumping on a wagon I don't believe in (which, by the way, turned out to be a civ)? Golden's paraphrase of my post here is disingenuous and distorts the character of my message.

If sig is bad, Colin is bad. If sig is good ... well, guess Colin is still bad?
I really agree with voting for someone you're suspicious of instead of jumping on a wagon. That was my mentality day one. However, it doesn't do any good if no one shares your suspicions. For that reason I'm reviewing other lynch candidate's posts to see if I have any reason to switch if no one gets on board with my wolbre suspicions. So far you're not pinging my scum radar, so I'll move along. :)
Fairly vague defense of Colin. I feel worse about this post than the above, though it's still not impossible that a town lunalee genuinely sees no reason to suspect Colin. If I look into the tunnel I can easily see this as teammate interaction though.

@Lunalee I see you there.
Hi MacDougall. I'm around. Really not sure what to think about this Colin/Sloonei tie. :sigh:
Complete lack of a stance in this post. I don't like it, but again... Luna is a relatively new player who's probably not encountered many situations like this one. A little hesitance is not as damning for her as it would be for, say, Turnip Head.
Lunalee wrote: Fri Apr 27, 2018 11:07 pm Wow, first scum lynch! I've learned a few things from this:
1. I don't feel confident in my ability to scum-hunt. I will probably review who all led the charge on colin, and follow their lead.
2. Defending ANYONE in game is a bad idea. I will suppress my nice-person side and not give anyone else the benefit of the doubt.
3. I won't be mad if you all want to lynch me next. I realize that I look pretty darn scummy right now.
Our little luna is growing up so fast. With tunnel vision turned on, I can still see this as a teammate interaction. But if I give luna the benefit of the doubt, this reads like a genuine townie developing their feel for the game.

And that' it. Given Colin's push to lynch luna and her potential status as low-hanging fruit, I'm finding this evidence much less convincing than the arguments against LC. If the choice is between these two today, and it very much looks like that will be the case, I'm voting for LC. A luna vote requires too much tinfoil and, gun to my head, I'm calling her a townie responding to unfamiliar high-pressure situations.

Sloonei wrote: Mon Apr 30, 2018 1:16 pm My biggest beef when I ISO'd dunya was that her Colin interactions were surprisingly light. I attributed that to her travels and lightness of activity in general after Day 1. As it is, I didn't come away with a very strong sense of where dunya stood on things during yesterday's lynch. @dunya if you're able to, could you explain in more detail what your thoughts were on me and Colin throughout Day 2?
first of all, throughout Day 2 is a very broad timeframe. I think I read and posted for about 1hr total which is like, nothing at all for me, and I feel like a shit person to not be giving this game dunya-effort, but I really didn't anticipate my workload and what it would be like with my dad here. so I'm sorry guys.

My thoughts: Sloonei was still suspicious because Day 1 suspicions don't just evaporate overnight because it's Day 2 and I am an intuitive person who likes to follow instincts. I felt like you weren't engaging people the way you usually do until much later. I hated the Colin vote when it happened and the reasons for it, and I hated you calling yourself hypocritical. It just didn't sit right with me. Call it whatever you want, but that's where I was. So I come in Day 2 when I did come in and I saw 5/5 for Sloonei and Colin. I hadn't seen anything from Colin (cos he barely posted apparently), so I broke the tie cos I hate ties and placed a vote on you.

When I returned for Day 2 and ISOd Colin and saw his posts, I felt like Colin was being tight lipped, didn't like all the heat he was receiving and being online and not rebutting it didn't seem like Town Colin to me. The majority of votes were on him, yes, but I didn't vote blindly either. I was convinced in where my vote was going. It wasn't like LCs vote of "everyone else thinks he's bad so...", I actually saw and believed in the case against him and felt like I had reasons to why I was putting my vote on Colin. Colin is a passionate player, I felt like he was just trying to speak as little as possible because he knew it was over anyway (clearly).

It is not needed. The worst that happens in a tie is a coin flip, so there is no need to change sides just to avoid a tie.

I meant I can see Luna being scum independent of LC.

I haven't reached the LC case in depth yet. Just some quotes between him and Colin that Sloonei posted and I gave my opinion on that so far.
