Long Con prodded me for my read on nutella. I responded quickly and he did nothing with it. That would suggest he didn't actually care about my read on nutella, which would be nice for her. Faker or not, he would likely have some vested interest in how I read his teammate.

Prototypical player salad. Y'all want a definition? This is the definition, or at least of the manner of salad that has most frequently caught bad guys in my experience. Put it in the encyclopedia.

As I mentioned in the Luna review, LC fled from his Luna vote to an INH vote when he observed how nutella handled INH's own Luna vote. He was shook, cuz nutella hella scary. Good look.

Sloonei is town. Sprityo and speed2.0 haven't done anything yet. I have a reason to think that speed2.0's player slot is town. I don't have any reason to think sprityo is town.

Sloonei townslipped. Sprityo has said nothing. Speed 2.0 has suspicion of Glorf and nutella, which I think is pretty healthy. I see from his ISO that he is the one who already called out nutella's Player Salad post, and that puts him a little in the green, salad pun intended.

I'm working today, soon, until too close to the lynch. There are a few cases I'd like to reread, the Soneji one looks all right, but it didn't blow my skirt up on the first read. I think Bullzeye is off the table now with a strong vote of confidence from Timmer. Is that something folks agree with? He said 'no cop' but who really knows, that's just what a cop would say. :hahah:

I'm going to leave my vote on Lunalee for now, although I could put it on kara if it came down to it. I'll try to be here before it comes down to it, to ensure I have my vote on a player that is relevant come lynch end. Maybe even get another crack at a Deathly Hallows, who knows?

I want to assemble a cooperative POE list of seven players, and then analyze the interactions of all possible two-way combinations within that group. The next natural step after eliminating individual players within POE is to eliminate potential teams, which can in many cases result in the removal of one or more suspects from the pool. Imagine a chart like the one in the spoiler below:

The columns and rows meet at any given dynamic between potential teammates. Note the intersection of Jack and sprityo, colored red. This would mean that one of us had analyzed the interactions of those two people and determined that they could definitely make sense as mafia teammates. Green colors would represent unlikely mafia teammates (and everything in between works like any rainbow list). NOTE: this chart is just an example, so everyone should ignore the colors. I haven't done any of these analyses yet. The names included reflect my own POE, so a cooperative group hasn't been compiled yet.

As you can see, there are 21 possible combinations here, and that's quite a lot of analysis. I probably can do it all myself if I must, but frankly having another set of eyes would be better beyond just sharing the workload.

sometimes I just think about how complex mafia is like you approach it so analytically but also with an eye to psychology and communication and various nuances of human weirdness. playing mafia for 10+ years is basically like taking 17 college classes. and mostly the one thing that makes it hard is wifom. god I love wifom as a concept we wouldn't exist without it

I have brought the notion of wifom into real-world conversation many times, because it is applicable to so many situations. I might even turn it into a research question in my lab.

(To answer your question, I have no idea. There are 14 regular abilities in the game, and each person has two. If DDL randomly assigned the mafia stuff, I'd say yes, it's very possible two would have patronus. But if he distributed abilities evenly, INH would have the only one)

I dunno. If he didn't summon a patronus though, that means he targeted Long Con with something else. That would seem to be an important detail, yeah? What does a mafia Quin do to a mafia Long Con if not that?

That is a good point. Could be a secret dark arts ability, could be another patronus but it is not likely to be I suppose.

Dragon D. Luffy Were mafia roles assigned randomly as well as Hogwarts abilities, or did you have a hand in manually balancing it?

I can say both things had a component of randomness and a component of myself controlling it to make sure the setup is balanced.

I'll be honest, I'm having a hard time with the Quin/speed issue. My mind tells me one is bad, my heart tells me they are civ. I need to nail down what we know about Quin given the INH reveal. I know there has been talk about it but for some reason it's hard for me to process. I'm not usually THIS dumb. Anyway, if anyone has any bullet points for what that reveal told us about Quin I'd love to see them, otherwise I'm going to try to bullet them myself.

This is just a housekeeping issue but fyi I cannot read anything that is highlighted in yellow or that bright green, especially at night. I know I can quote the post and see it in black and white but if you could use another color I would really be grateful.

poutanko - I townread Pout, have since D1. Her cop claim initially got the same from me, especially since it was completely WRONG and also was a really risky move. But I don't know Pout. Maybe she could make risky moves. I can put on a tinfoil hat and see it.
ColinIsCool - Townread again from D1. Cared about the roof early on. Almost got lynched alongside LC. And then... Pout towncopped him, and I started ignoring him. My townread on him is less strong than everyone out of my POE, and if Pout is scum, he could be too. If she's town... what are the odds that she'd be wrong twice, right?
Jackofhearts2005 - Jack is someone I've struggled to read all game. Normally he's in the forefront of my mind, and that hasn't seemed to happen this game. He has had a decent tone throughout, but I don't recall anything that locks him as town for me.
MacDougall - For the most part I townread MacDougall. There's just a little lingering weirdness with the way the vig kills bother him. Hey, Mac, do they still bother you now that you know Mafia ALSO had vigs?
Quin - A liar barring some crazy unexplainable night actions. Why did he lie? Why didn't he back off in some way? No idea. Doesn't make sense.
sprityo - Egh. JJJ covered this.
Sloonei - I only townread Owner for being saved by LC. That's gone now. Owner had some really fake-sounding reads on D1. Sloonei has been fine, but hasn't really wowed me or broke the mold and done something I wouldn't expect from anyone in the thread.

yes but didn't the reveal of INH at the end of day 4 include something (I'll have to go back and see what) that made Quin seem more town? I want to say Poutanko pointed it out. I thought it explained how his night action could be true. I'll go back and look.

Having taken the liberty of ordering my thoughts, it gives me pause to consider why Colin is so low. Having a moment to ponder the answer is simple. Colin is playing like a player whose enjoyment level/purpose is low. Town Colin is at the coal face of discussion. This Colin is on the perimeter always. Peeking in over shoulders. I put it to you that Colin is struggling to partake in the festivities on account of having lost several teammates, thus making it challenging for him to remain active.
