Assuming I'm reading the host's response correctly, then I didn't forget any food or drink. So I will decline the elf's offer. Which doesn't seem like a good idea to me, but oh well.

Ok, so if you are thinking that I am the 4th member of the MP/FZ/Elohcin team, it's also safe to assume that you are thinking that my suspicion of FZ was merely distancing, right?

Is there anyone out there who says they were silenced on the same day Boogs was silenced? If you were silenced do you know which entity silenced you? Is there anyone who claims the vintner targeted them instead of Boogs on the day he says he was targeted? I'm just trying to understand the boogs situation and this information would be helpful to me.

Host: Are people allowed to say if they were silenced or targeted by a specific player, like the questions I'm asking above, i.e., can people admit to it without breaking the rules?

Boogs, I know you can't copy your pm to the thread but can you tell me if your pm specifically said the vintner?

I was told that I received a drink from the Wood Elves and I drank so then I was affected. All I know :ponder: I did relook and saw Gaelor, I think, jails someone like what happened to me... I know I def was not jailed so my gut says the drink effect made me silenced and not able to vote. I don't know why the wood elves would have targeted me night 1. I didn't really post much day 1 :/

I have just had the most stressful few days imaginable, and had no time or energy for mafia. Things seem to be calming down now but I'm really sorry for missing everything recently! I will try my best to get back into the swing of things quickly but it seems like every time I do something else comes up! I really want to play this game though and kinda need the break so I'm gonna just try again.

I have seen that some people are suggesting that the case I presented against Boogs is just about the question of his silence. I just want to be clear that, although proving he was silenced would indeed answer some of his fishy behavior, my point was a pattern of questionable remarks before and after he was silenced.

Here's one of the earlier posts where it was suggested that the only point was the silencing. I would also point out that this is coming from TH, whose case against Daisy I find really weak and possibly suspicious (though I'm by no means sure about a suspicion of him).
juliets wrote:
Turnip Head wrote:Epi and Juliets, what do you guys make of Boogs? I'm not seeing the case on him so far myself. It seems to be based on the fact that Boogs is lying about what happened to him on Day 2, and that no one believes he is genuinely confused, and that his suspicion of MP and FZ is disingenuous. Which I think are all just the wrong way to read Boogs' posts so far.
TH, taking a look at Boog's posts the only thing i see is the issue of the vintner silencing him and not allowing him to vote. (I do believe it was the vintner because he keeps repeating the part about the drink throughout his posts). On the one hand, since vintner has secrets I can see how the consequences of drinking with him could be a rotating group of things - silencing, insanifying, making his vote no good, etc. In addition, if someone else had been the victim of the vintner instead of Boogs wouldn't they have spoken up by now? Or, I could be mistaken and it's the other wood elf who targeted him and that's why he was silenced and didn't vote. I'm not sure I get what he would gain by pretending - there isn't even civ cred because he could just be someone on the other team or Smaug who got targeted. I guess what it all boils down to is I just feel like there are several things I want to look into before i would be comfortable voting for him. Doesn't mean I think he's good - there are just parts of this I want to look into.
If you want to see the case again, go to Boogs's in-topic posts and my post here. And on that note, I'm going to start looking up some other things too.

Sorry CBK, apparently I missed your detailed case on Boogs the first time. To me it looked like all the suspicion on him was based on what he was saying about the Wood Elf drink, but I see now you had raised some other points.

Here are some of my responses to your post about Boogs.
Captain Bunny Killer wrote:First of all, who said you're suspected because you switched your opinion of Daisy? No, seriously, I couldn't figure out who said that.
Daisy herself said that.
Spacedaisy wrote:Boogs... You keep talking about me and then suddenly drop me to vote Elo when people start disagreeing about the case against me. You do not look good to me right now my dear.

I have to vote right now. I won't be back in time from work. So I am going to vote Boogs because of what seems to be a serious case of bandwagoning/blendiness... *votes*
Captain Bunny Killer wrote:Then you agreed with TH's noting how MP and FZ interacted with Daisy, according to INH's chart. I feel the need to quote that one.
Boogs wrote: I felt that way too before and after MP's lynch in particular. I think he was throwing her under the bus to distance himself. She's still on my radar for possibly getting my vote today. I also have to consider some last minute voters on the back and forth votes with FZ and K4J. I think there was some initial saving possibly from the other Goblin team for K4J possibly also. Will examine it when I get free time during work today and decide who I want to cast a vote for after that.
Wait, what? You felt that way about Daisy before MP's lynch? You never even voiced any suspicion of him until afterwards. Yet you theorized that he was throwing a baddie teammate under the bus? An event you never took note of until after his lynch?
I think you are reading Boogs' post wrong. It looks like he's saying "I have felt that way before too" and "after MP's lynch in particular." The rest of your accusation here seems to be built on this possible misinterpretation of what Boogs was saying.

Alright. I have a little bit over an hour before I leave for work. So I have some time to kill and bounce ideas off of others.

I mentioned I was suspicious of Boogs before, but him being silenced on Day 2 was what made me hold back on him for the time being. CBK's post is worth checking up on, as is most of Boogs' posts in general. I think he seems quite all over the place with some of statements. Like the idea of him being on MP's team. That one makes no sense to me. So I'm not sure if he was confused about what someone else said or if he's misinterpreting something there. His vote for Eloh feels a lot like him trying to blend in with an easy vote, and his suspicions of Mongoose and Daisy seem convenient to me too. Like he's just latching onto others' cases without contributing any of his own thoughts.

Llama, how do you feel about Mongoose's no-post vote yesterday? Do you think it is because she was busy as she claimed, or do you think there's a more nefarious purpose behind it? Because it gives me a bit of pause with her. I just don't see baddie Mongoose making such a careless mistake. Or am I over-analyzing this?

I need to read back on the case against rey, because either I missed something or I'm not understanding Epig's logic of him possibly being the last member of the MP/Elo/FZ team.

Linki: Hmmmmm...I hadn't noticed that before, TH. I wouldn't mind hearing what Boogs has to say about that.

Hey, thanks for finding Daisy's post.

I don't think this changes my opinion overall though. You're, again, trying to base my case on one misunderstanding. It just seems like a very doubtful reinterpretation of what Boogs said. It's just all too ambiguous, and I still think the overall effect is suspicious.

I'll refer you to the rules to answer your question. Copying PMs is absolutely prohibited. Paraphrasing is kind of a grey area, and can result in punishment. When in doubt, it's always better to ask - if I consider something an info dump, I will punish you, and you won't like it.

I don't think this changes my opinion overall though. You're, again, trying to base my case on one misunderstanding. It just seems like a very doubtful reinterpretation of what Boogs said. It's just all too ambiguous, and I still think the overall effect is suspicious.
I'm not trying to do anything to your case, CBK. Your other points might potentially be valid ones depending on how Boogs replies to them, so I'm eager to hear his response. I was just pointing out some areas where I thought you got the facts wrong, places where I think you were eyeing Boogs for the wrong reasons. I've seen Boogsy be misunderstood before, when he was a civvie. That's why I'm approaching the case on him with trepidation.

Thank you TH. I think I do almost always get misunderstood. Recently in X Men :/ The post about before and after MP's lynch that Captain bunny is referring to: I was trying to say (poorly because it's caused confusion), that before he got lynched, i took his vote for Daisy so random and pingy. Then After he got lynched and the role showed up, the cogs started turning in my head that he JUST did that to his teammates in my own game I hosted and saw his behavior and strategies, that he COUlD be doing it on e more here on Daisy. That's where I started really feeling ping like of her. Then I got silenced, and could not say anything about her and then started FZ's case and I wanted to vote for either of them (unknowing FZ's role yet) because I felt they were connected to MP or the other Goblins. Then FZ turned up to be MP's teammate, and Daisy made a good point that made me ease off some because my logic then did not make sense when FZ's role was revealed and try Elohcin instead. In large games, I'm not good at spotting the needle in the haystack first, so I apologize if that is coming across to some players as me just blending in but I am indeed in real life and in the game a follower, not a leader. When the game dwindles down some more, I feel like I could pick up on better points for myself on who is bad but there's just so many players and half aren't posting much.

TH and Boogs, Boogs while you were posting I was looking up your original response to CBK and TH since you said you were waiting for Boogs to hear his response I thought I'd find it and repost it here for you to see. It may not make as much difference since boogs has responded again but here is his original response:
Boogs wrote:Capt. bunny: All I know is I was silenced and couldn't vote by some Wood elf thing. I have no idea if it's to do with Gaelor or Vitner but I did what I was told. The part where you said I never voiced my opinions on SD or FZ until after he was lynched, WHEN did I have time to??? I was silenced Day 2 when evidence and cases were built on FZ so I couldn't post to agree or say I wanted to vote for him. And I didn't make a fake argument up, I was trying to say if someone tries to ask why I didn't vote for either MP or FZ is probably because they will say "I am on his team" . I know we haven't played together before, but my play style isn't really one of those quote 1-20 posts of someone when I post. I give my thoughts and don't post as much as others. I do tend to agree as a follower at times than be leader. I just think you're getting the wrong vibes from me altogether. Sometimes my opinions can be wonky, but I'm not ever afraid to voice what I feel and I think that is what gets people always accusing me of being bad when I am civ. I am not bad.

I don't think that means anything, to be honest. What would she have to gain from not posting her vote? She had to have known I would pick up on it. Most likely just a product of carelessness, but she has been careless a lot this game and I still think she is bad.

I readily acknowledge that this explanation (directly below) is definitely plausable, so I am willing to look elsewhere for now (and need to just stop responding to these unless someone has a specific question).
Boogs wrote:Thank you TH. I think I do almost always get misunderstood. But I will make one final point, because my almost-OCDness needs to recognize this inconsistency. Here's Boogs's mention of the elf drinks in order of posting (earliest to current). He consistently said elf wine until questioned on the roles. Then he said he didn't know (with the correct role titles of Gaoler and Vintner for the first time). Then he said it was defitely the wine, while recognizing that he went back to the roles to see that the effects were the same as the gaoler.
Boogs wrote:I'm choosing to find another way around. Something about me falling in and being swept down a river sounds like a scary result.
And to Epignosis: Well if I wasn't drunk from those darn wood elves that is who I would have voted for
Boogs wrote: I drank some weird mixed drink and wasn't able to vote or talk... Freakin elves lol
Boogs wrote: Like I answered JC, if it weren't for that darn elf drink,i would have been able to speech my opinions yesterday. Being silenced doesn't help me a lot, does it?
Boogs wrote: The Wood elf drink silenced me and unfortunately, my vote was not allowed to be cast. I was intending on Daisy at that point or FZ. The K4J was random on Day 1 because I have no idea on the first days who to ever vote for.
Boogs wrote:Capt. bunny: All I know is I was silenced and couldn't vote by some Wood elf thing. I have no idea if it's to do with Gaelor or Vitner but I did what I was told....
Boogs wrote: I was told that I received a drink from the Wood Elves and I drank so then I was affected. All I know :ponder: I did relook and saw Gaelor, I think, jails someone like what happened to me... I know I def was not jailed so my gut says the drink effect made me silenced and not able to vote. I don't know why the wood elves would have targeted me night 1. I didn't really post much day 1 :/
But I really do have to leave this alone for now.

Checking in. Made it to Chicago last night but was not able to get to the interwebs to vote or read anything. :( I didn't forget food and water, but I wasn't able to vote in the poll. Does that mean I automatically refused the hospitality? That's what I would have voted for.

The civvies are kicking butt, THIRD LYNCH IN A ROW getting a baddie! Well done all of you who voted Eloh. And nice job, Epi, for sniffing that one out. I tip my hat to you.

OK! Off to play some more. I'll try to read asap, probably no sooner than Sunday night.

In the east, deep under the Lonely Mountain, a creature older than any dwarf, man, or hobbit, wakes from a deep slumber. He has heard rumors from the birds he allows to live in his domain of a plot. A vile, vicious plot to take from him what he has spent his entire life accumulating. Gold coins slide of his back as he slithers toward the hole in his cave, abandoning his precious treasures for the first time in decades. He will find those who would dare attempt to defy him and slaughter them before they even come close.
Night 3 -- Spiders!

Image

The group was hestitant about the mysterious elven figure, especially since he seemed already to know something about him, but they had little idea about who he was. However, a number of hungry and thirsty travelers did avail themselves of his offerings.

He seemed somewhat offended when certain of these turned him down, and pleased when others accepted. They sat around his fire and warmed their hands, and some of them ventured to chat or even smoke with him.

It seemed he was only a friendly and very brave Wood-Elf, having ventured to the far western edge of the realm. He knew of their journey, he informed them, because their were Wood-Elves among the group! They had been watchful of the increased goblin activity outside the Misty Mountains, and taken the chance to find out more about it. They had communicated to him by secret signals as they approached.

As they talked, Gloin heard whispers by the edge of the grove. "I think we are in a good position," said one, and the other replied, "Likewise! I was also thinking about trying to recruit the town mayor down the road."

"Come, be merry!" cried the friendly elf, snapping Gloin's attention back to him. "Tonight you are safe with me. I will play a tune." And so he began to blow on a small wooden flute, and a merry jaunt issued from it. Bullzeye got up to dance, and soon everyone had joined in.

Just as the travellers were beginning to feel at ease, the fire went out.

The friendly elf cried "RUN!" But in the darkness and confusion, no one could find a way out of the grove. They bumped into each other, upset packs, and caused a great commotion and hullabaloo.

The more sharp-eared of the group then heard scuffling and muttering and clicks that sounded almost as if they were some sort of language issuing from horrible mouths. They caught small gleams in the darkness, which appeared out of nowhere and disappeared just as quickly.

At this point many of the group had sat down, or stumbled onto their backs or stomachs. As they looked around in worry and confusion, a bright red comet appeared in the east. This comet did not move like anything they had seen before. At first, it rose straight up from the horizon. As it began to fall again, it grew and grew, and it seemed to be headed straight for them. They realized that it actually was right above them, and then they saw an outline of wings, and a gout of fire spread from its pointed snout.

The flame, shot in a chance fit of rage, came straight down into the center of the clearing and incinerated Turnip Head. The light from the fire illuminated the clearing, and what the company saw scared them so much that fingersplints fell straight down and could not move. The clearing was filled with huge, monstrous spiders!

The group tried to organize and to fight back, but the light from the fire died out quickly, and even as they drew swords and axes, many of the group were stung. They began to feel sluggish and fall over, and all of them were quickly trussed up and carried away.

When Vompatti came to, he was strung up in a tree. He tried to move, but found he was bound tight. Then, looking up, he saw below him one of the brutes, bathed in morning light. He went instantly still, afraid to be seen. The creature was deep in conversation with another such one. Vomps listened intently, and found that, though the clicking was hard to understand, the strange voice of the spider was speaking the common tongue.

..."That one's already dead; it won't be good food at all. Most of the blood's already run out," it said, and Vompers saw two other spiders spinning webs to lower a silken sack to the ground. He looked around, and saw he was surrounded by similar sacks, 23 more of them. He looked at his feet, and saw that what bound him was the same sticky, silky material. Just then, the sun rose, and this high among the treetops, he could see it for the first time in days. A few of the other sacks began to stir, though others remained motionless. He shushed them, fearing what the spiders would do when they woke.

Later, all the spiders seemed to be sleeping, and the group began to discuss how to get out of their predicament.

Turnip Head has been killed by Smaug.
Another one of your number was stabbed, by the Misty Mountains Goblins, and has died. Figure out whom while you're tied up, if you can.

Oh! And the dead person's name is still on the poll. That's intentional, because otherwise this would be too easy. A vote for a deadie is a wasted vote, so you should probably figure out who it is.
